I never let it cure for 28 days. I always bake my dishwasher safe mod podge projects in the oven for 1 hour at 175 degrees and it always cures perfectly and is a stronger cure. Not sure why you said not to bake it. Your mugs are really nice!!
@loralu490 Either they're unaware or they're going the safe route of following what the manufacturer says to do so people can't blame them if things go wrong.
Such a great idea!!!!!! These would make awesome gifts!!! My kids want to make mugs with their pictures with names & year/sayings for Christmas presents this year for family. We're also planning on making our own mugs on our next family craft night, for hot chocolate/coffee for this winter's cold days/nights. SOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!
I have this sealer in my craft box. It’s my non negotiable go to when I make my coffee mugs. I used this dishwasher Mod Podge for a year now and have made many cups and glasses both as gifts and my own use. In my case I made designs on my cups using water slide and vinyl sticker transfer papers and my ink jet printer. And they were all successful. I sealed with the Mod Podge three times. My cups are hanging on my coffee bar ready to use everyday. I don’t wash them in the dishwater though because why when you can hand wash them. My cups are about a year old now and shows no signs of their design coming off or looking faded. The recommendation cure is 28 days but who can wait that long? I didn’t. I used my cups after three days of cure. Theyre still going going and going. Look like new as the day I made them.
I thought you can let it dry for 2 hours and then put it in your oven on a cool seating like 175 for like 15 minutes I think then let it cool thin rinse it off then dry and it's ready I saw it on another TH-cam channel😊😊😊😊
This was so helpful thank you both for doing this. I am new to using mod podge and had no clue you can mix color into mod podge. I'm so getting ready to make Halloween mugs and that info helped so much!❤ thank you!🎃
Thank you so so much for this video. Question how did you do that mug that looks like flakes of gold leaf maybe mixed in modge podge and the mug is dipped into it? i love thelook.
Can I do this with wood like adding the paint to modpodge then paint the wood and decoupage it as well? To be safe from water and what is the percentage of paint to modpodge as well? Thanks
Hi I love your videos I am wanting to try this where did you get your book of saying from for the mug I can't seem to find any please could you share the link or tell me what I need to search for I have put scrapbook paper in but nothing comes up like yours Many thanks Karen
I am wanting to seal alcohol ink on a bowl. If I clean the bowl with alcohol before putting on the mod podge it will take off the alcohol ink. Is it possible to just clean it with some mild detergent and water?
Is it safe to use Mod Podge on the inside of the mug also? I have a mug that has some very fine cracks and leaks, so I wanted to try this as a sealant. Will it work?
Ingredients are considered non toxic but since its not an actual food item it can't be fda approved so that's why they say not to go to the top💕 I completely sealed cups and have used them like normal for 2yrs nothing noticeable health wise lol 🤷♀️
it's dishwasher safe but not human safe. We're leaving space so the lips don't touch the mod podge even after its cured however, I'm worried about the toxins spreading around onto other dishes in the dishwasher or in dishwater.
You can still use them. You would just have to wash them by hand. Sorry didn't realize your comment was from almost a year ago. Hopefully it worked out lol

With the paper they added at 4:54 could you still bake the mug to cure it?😊
@@CC-mc9dw You can experiment to test it but I don't think 175 degrees is going to damage the paper.

Is it safe to put hot drinks in it after?xx
Question: can these be heated in a microwave? Say, heating up a cup of milk, for example, or warming up a cold cup of coffee?
I actually had the same question but I looked it up and it cannot be microwaved, so your best bet is to have something hot poured into it
@@katsukineko0095 Thank you for your reply regarding this 😊 ❤️
Thanks for the reply,I had the same question
Do you have microwave safe mod podge??
How do you prevent brush marks from the cup.

Do you have any tips on brush marks?
to be safe, put some painter's tape around the "mouth" of the cup.

Product left terrible 'streaks' or brushmarks. What type of brush does everyone use?
Was there supposed to be a glitter example? I missed that. Do we just sprinkle glitter upon a mod podge painted surface?
Are the mugs with napkins safe for a microwave? Enjoyed the video.
Can you use regular prints too
will this work to seal poured acrylic on wine glass
Questions, so you can't hand wash while is curing? I mean is not like in the dishwasher that's going to take high temperature and a lot of water
Can this be baked at a low temp to speed up curing? Also, have tried using sharpies and acrylic paint pens for your mug designs?
Can u use it on vinyl letters on a glass mug
I love dishwasher mod podge😊 it's very helpful for us and it'suseful😊

The cure time is worth it when it's washable! Enjoy!
Hi Dana from where we can get the sheets?
It's cheaper than a mug press.
@@plaidcrafts What does cure mean? Just let the mug sit for 28 days or do i have buy something to cure it?
I cured my dishwasher safe mod podge for 30 days and when I put it in the dishwasher it peeled off ... what did I do wrong?

Is it safe to use Mod Podge on the inside of the mug also? I have a mug that has some very fine cracks and leaks, so I wanted to try this as a sealant. Will it work?
Mod Podge Dishwasher safe should only be used on the outside of the mug.
Should I not drink from this mug if I sealed it to the top? It is toxic even when cured?
Nope! Don't drink from it

so is this microwavable? And is it safe to drink out of after it dries up?
It is safe to drink out of once cured, but don't microwave it.
How do you do this if you want your own personal picture on it? Do u just print it on card stock type paper
I notice there are no replies regarding the horrendous brush marks this product creates. There has to be a way!

As long as you print it with a laser printer, yes.

What about simple handwash. Not everyone has a dishwasher.
They are also safe to be hand-washed.
