To clear some things up. Nayoung was eliminated because she expressed her endeavors to go solo. Otherwise, she likely would've made the group. Despite Manon not receiving professional musical training prior. She did sing as an amateur and does have a unique singing voice. There are plenty of vids on tiktok that showcase her natural talent without studio edit.
For context, the Dream Academy show that formed the Katseye group didn't have any behind the scenes stuff, people just voted based on how well the trainees did on the missions. Manon was consistently at the top for the fan votings. When the Popstar Academy documentary came out, it showed the behind the scenes and in one episode it showed Manon had missed practice which bothered some of the girls. The girls were able to resolve their issues, Manon apologized, she committed and stepped up her training/practice. You see all of this in the Popstar Academy show , the girls dealt with it in a very mature and respectful way, but some fans blew the whole thing out of proportion and are now mad that Manon is in the group. It's all really stupid, because again you see the girls make up and it happened 2 years ago, their friendship is stronger now, it's clear when you watch their vlogs and lives.

I think what Manon did was selfish and she was entitled because she was scouted unlike some other girls. She already had a following so she didn’t take it really serious. The other girls worked hard to get to that point and they knew they had to work even harder to get a position. I just think she didn’t take it serious because Lara was scouted as well but she put in the work because she has a passion for music. I think the producers messed up by favoring her. I’m just glad we are past that and hope they continue to grow !
it's not always rainbow and sunshine. there will always be disagreements etc. it'd be more suspicious if they have not encountered any. like what are they some kind of perfect beings? but that's what it means being in a group and in a way those disagreements will only deepen their understanding with one another and that's how they'll strengthen their friendship.
FR, I swear a lot of these "fans" don't seem to treat the members as people. It's normal for people to get annoyed or upset with each other. I was actually impressed with how well the girls were able to work out their problems, they handled it in a very mature and respectful way (especially since they were all teenagers when this happened). as much as I hate the stupid drama people made up about it, I think the documentary was very good publicity for them. I've seen many comments from people who don't follow kpop but watched Popstar Academy out of curiosity and are now fans of Katseye I know Katseye isn't kpop, but I'm just saying that many people found out about them through the documentary that otherwise would never jave heard about them. There are not many places where a new Pop group can perform in the west (awards shows and late night talk shows are booked with established performers or ones that already blew up on social media) but Netflix was a great platform to introduce them to a global audience, exactly what a new global girl group needs to gain traction and attention.

I've seen many comments from people who don't follow kpop but watched Popstar Academy out of curiosity and are now fans of Katseye I know Katseye isn't kpop, but I'm just saying that many people found out about them through the documentary that otherwise would never jave heard about them. There are not many places where a new Pop group can perform in the west (awards shows and late night talk shows are booked with established performers or ones that already blew up on social media) but Netflix was a great platform to introduce them to a global audience, exactly what a new global girl group needs to gain traction and attention.

game changer? lol, only 2 of them 6 are worthy. songs are annoying, dance is elementary, totally the temu version of kpop. sophia and yoonchae are 4/5 stars, rest are 3/5 star, most of them need to lose 15-20lbs
