A small cellar in the countryside in Sweden, where an older man spends his time doing carpentry.
I have created everything from scratch, No photoscans used. except the rusty metaltexture on the "Tool Wall" And the GroundTexture(They are from Quixel).
I used Zbrush, Substance Painter And Maya For Assets and Tiling Textures.
I have always wanted to have my own little workshop in the basement.
I really Like older Environments without modern technology. Environments before I was born. It feels like it was better back then.
My goal was to explore Unreal Engine 5. I Have never used Unreal before so it was really nice getting to know the engine and explore its power.
This project is Rendered In Unreal Engine 5 Preview, using Pathtracing.
Lumen version in progress for comparison.

Jesus christ THANK U for all likes and comments! Here is some information: I rendered it with pretty BAD settings.... not all the details are visible at a distance in the video... I rendered it in 128 spatial samples and 8 temporal samples, it took 40-50 hours maybe not sure. I needed a render farm... This is offline renderer. not Realtime.

My father was a wood working man, he could do a lot with tools and math. He was a finish carpenter as he became more experienced but he also had a small workshop area in the basement when I was a kid. Old tools like planes, chisels, even hand crank drills. He was an artist with wood, I am a different kind of artist. He could take a pattern and make a a relief design for mouldings, furniture, and other items. I watched him sometimes work. Computers now can laser carve all that work today. I was lucky to have seen this artform done by human hands. You have caught this world perfectly.

I didnt really finish this project 100%. I just wanted something fresh for my portfolio, because Its been a while since i posted anything because of work. Some assets are also unpolished and older from the last project i made. For example the brushes and Paint cans. I should have updated some meshes like the brushes with fibers and stuff ;D.
I googled around about rendering settings for pathtracing to find a good balance. reading documentations and stuff (I am a beginner in unreal, still learning)
I didnt want to render it for DAYS... so i just went for 2556 x 1440, 128 Spatial samples and 8 Temporal samples. Took around 50 hours or something. A lot of details disapeared from the video because of low rendering settings, Especially Roughness values.
In the future i think I need to use a render farm ^^.

@@MichaelReznoR Path Tracing is a more accurate rendering technique which calculates every single lightbounce in the scene. It's the standard method used for all other renderers, just a lot better in UE5

Only thing that jumped out at me was the radio next to clock. The rest would fool me into believing I was in a real room, absolutely incredible. The spray paint cans look perfect to me? The brushes maybe something but too far away to tell.
