Thanks Jake for the video. I bought one of these in 1993 It hasn't been turn on in about 20 years lol. I know the reverb doesn't work anymore, I woke this morning thinking I should restore this amp that's why I'm watching your video. The thought of lifting this amp up is giving me second thoughts. lol
I have one. 100 watts and 100 pounds. It stays at home.. Love the amp. A few years ago I was at Disneyland with the family and saw one beside a stage and I swear I never saw a more beat up amp than that. Somebody loved it..
Amazing amp for clean and pedal platforms. That drive channel😂Keep the cleans of the Fender and for dirt Laney and Marshall. Sad but you need the Fender and Marshall/Laney for the best of both worlds.
I to have a Red knob (The Twin) including manual. I pickup from a Fender contract electronics repairer in at time 1993 in Melbourne Australia Although known for their red knobs this had identical knobs but in black as opposed to the red. I wonder may be to many folks complain about the red knobs and that why Fender later changed to black. A nice amp and incredibly loud. Sadly however it weights a ton despite being on wheels its really way to heavy to be considered particularly portable. Thanks for the clip there is not much useful info out there about them.
I gigged one of these for 20 years. It was a great amp. I don't ever remember running the gain at ten? Doesn't sound good. Basically a very powerful clean amp, that would cut through the mix.
Stil love this amp. I'm gigging again and now have two of these amps, there's always one or two out there on ebay or facebook going for a bargain price - my second one I've converted to seperate head/speaker cabs just to make it easier to carry around. Everyone in my band likes it (better than the other guitartist's Orange, haha!) If you check the schematic, tha basic clean channel is identical to the classic twin reverb and if you drop out the amp section you can see that the tubes/valves are hand wired so it really is a quality item. Yes, the extrra tone features are pcb mounted but so what? Nearly all modern amps use pcbs somewhere so it isnt a problem. If anyone is thinking of getting one, remember that this is NOT the latter black knob twin which got the nickname 'Evil Twin' - this is a superior amp.
Basically it has 6L6 tubes wich are by far the best for a clean sound. I've tried many amps over the years but there's good reason why I still have mine 35 years later.
One year ago a friend pass away and left me one of this amp..its too loud..like u said..but i dont have the manual.. Can u sell me a copy cause i dont seem to find it anywhere..to understand the back panel..to how to conect.it .if u can help me i will appreciate it a lot thanks .from Tijuana Mexico..thanxs again...
@xcorp21 Hello, I will shoot a video for you in a few days and explain how to connect it . I will also try to find my owners manual and video that for you too. sorry to hear about your friend that passed away. He left you a great amp. talk soon . Jake
@xcorp21 Hey, Buddy . I just uploaded the owners manual for "the twin" amplifier. This should help you out with how it works and what the back panel layout is. Jake

I'm pretty partial to those myself ..I own several super strats with those style headstocks.. I built that guitar from parts and bought that neck on ebay for $36 shipping included..the brand was kmise..had to level the frets out and file the edges but it was a great deal for a brand new neck..
This one was NOT the Evil Twin. That is a common misconception. The Evil Twin was the version that came right after from 1994 to ?. These here were referenced as the "red knobs" Twin and I've played one for years (1989 model). Still one of the best clean tones I ever had. Loud, headroom for days. I still have it here but mine needs servicing.

I had one of these with a factory snakeskin tolex on it right around 1990. Drummer could not believe how loud it was. Great distortion too.
@@polynomial9600 I have "straightened" a few shoe laces with this one ! lol..

Can clean teeth at 2
Great video. This amp sounds great and they do seem to have a bad rep for some reason. Thanks for posting.

The Evil Twin. I have two both from pawn shops. The only non Peavy amps I own
Not an evil twin. The Evil Twin is the “twin amp” from the mid to late 90s
i love those Explorer headstocks

What's the difference except for knob colour?
Great Vid Dude!
@@neutron_audio thank you !
Can't find that "sample settings" paper anywhere online! No reference at all !! 😮
Google Fender The Twin owners manual, they're in there.
They are useless. Best to dial it in yourself. On the dirty channel I start with bass off to maybe 1 for a no PA outside gig.
now thats a proper superstrat!!!!
thanks , built that one myself from a bunch of parts ..one of the best strats I own ..
thats the way! :)@@guitarhoarder1972
Sounds very AC-30ish!
