Exteriors:
After four successful years of existence, Mahindra XUV500 has got its first major upgrade. Now it now comes with a new set of ‘S’ shaped projector headlamps with daytime running lights, a new bumper with wider air dam, new alloy wheels and a new grille with chrome highlights, just like the new Mahindra Scorpio. Also, it has a new chrome-lined, L-shaped fog lamps, which are positioned higher than before. The side profile remains identical, there is only minor tweaks like redesigned door handles, chrome strip running around window glasses. At the rear, it is decorated with chrome strip along with company’s badge above the number plate.
Interiors :
When it comes to interiors, the new Mahindra XUV500 has a premium looking black and beige dashboard. The seats are comfortable and provide optimum back and thigh support. Also, there is a generous amount of headroom and legroom for mid-row passengers. There is central armrest in the second row. Mahindra XUV500 comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that provide Sat-Nav and entertainment on the go. The tachometer and speedometer console now got the Icy Blue illumination that are intended to provide useful info like tyre pressure, cruise control indications and other information. The plastics materials used in the car is better than the previous one. The top end variant W10 is blessed with sunroof and engine start-stop button. You can also control music and AC from your phone using Mahindra blue sync app. The rear AC vents are placed on the B-pillar for rear passengers. The driver seat is electrically adjustable. Coming to the safety party, it comes with an 6 airbags, ABS, EBD and Hill Hold control.
Engine and Performance :
Mechanically, new XUV500 has the same 2.2-litre MHawk engine that produces 140bhp with a torque of 330 Nm. Mahindra now claims that the New XUV500 delivers an ARAI certified mileage of 16 kmpl. The dynamics have been altered as well like steering, dampers, spring and the anti-roll bars for better handling and for better feel. The electronic stability program has been updated as well. The XUV has a disc brakes all round and they do a good job while bringing a giant to halt. The AWD lock will ensure the power will transferred to the wheel which helps out from rather a sticky situation.
Verdict:
The New age Mahindra XUV500 has a better looks, improved driving performance with better fuel efficiency and all its variants come with a lot of features at a marginal price. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
I have driven this car for 11,104km no problems yet.No car in this range,even Innova,can't match handling performance and braking.All four disc brakes are perfect.Even the beast look and price.This shows that, never underestimate Indian

+Shyam Bidgar The choice of looks will be subjective, but Crysta is the better performer, offers the better cabin and is backed by Toyota’s reliability, after-sales experience and resale value.
We’d still put your money on the Innova Crysta, but it’s recommended you opt for the top-end variant as the lower grades don’t offer much kit. If stretching your budget isn’t an option, then the XUV500 is still a fantastic package and offers great value for its price.
Is this the Lava Red colour of xuv500.. I find this one the best colour out of the bunch.. Any colour suggestions, i am going to book a W10..

No, XUV 5OO does not have glove box cooling.

Go for fortuner if you would like to have power otherwise, XUV is a great car to go with.

we can get merecedes and audi's features in a affordable price only in this xuv 5oo. it's very very good suv.it is more luxurious than fortuner, endevour,duster,and safari. friend it's a very good deal

Everything is perfect in New age XUV 500 Except the transmission !! Where is the Automatic transmission gearbox ?? Even Scorpio has Automatic versions now.

sahil kumar These are not suv's but low hp cars pretending to be suv's, they know indian customers are dumb asses. Anyway, Automatic transmission gearboxes for suv's are not tuned to Indian roads, the software designed for them works well with the European roads where there are little ground variations. Anyhow, if you want to carry overweight aunties then any suv would work.

This facelift would have been perfect if not for the front foglamp design that looks borrowed from Hyundai sedans. Maybe a simple trapezium-shaped design would have done the job.

Great Job with the interiors , but sorry to say the made the exteriors bad.... infact the old exteriors looked way better (team Mahindra : go easy on the curves and chrome highlights guys) . The exteriors didn't require any changes, but the ones that they did made it too flashy and gaudy ...I would be embarrassed to drive some thing so flashy on the roads!
I am planning to buy this car but am confused considering the reviews at many places regarding the long term reliability, sensor and electronic issues. Can someone who has used this vehicle for long suggest on the reliability of the vehicles and and issues faced.

But can you please tell me if there are mechanical or electronics issues that I might face in future after purchasing as I intend to keep the vehicle for 10-12 years and use it on long road trips to Himalayan region with no roads.

Very useful review, with in short time you have covered all the essential points any buyer would be looking for. I heard the ground clearance has been reduced from 200 mm to 160 mm to lower the exercise, how does this effect the off roading capability of the XUV ?

which is best... innova crysta or the xuv500 just in terms of ride comfort and low maintenance??
Innova Crysta is comfortable to drive and also is quite spacious. However, you sit high in XUV 5OO and the view is quite nice. We will give star extra to Innova Crysta for its premium interiors and the list of comfort features. Talking about maintenance, Innova should be slightly expensive to maintain as compared to XUV 5OO. Hence I would suggest you to go for XUV 5OO.

If you are looking for a car which is comfortable, I would suggest you to go for Innova Crysta. However, if you go off roads, you should go for XUV 5OO.

The claimed mileage for XUV 500 is 16 KMPL (Highway). It may vary in the real conditions depending upon the driving conditions and vehicle maintenance.

Battery was totally discharged at 5000 km (I have to jump start it )
My ac stopped working in middle of drive
I bought my car in April 2016 and facing such problems in such short time now I doubt about its reliability
Every time I go to service centre I feel like I am invisible such a worst service by global mahindra Panvel
I was facing battery sensor problem
They kept me standing there for 3 hrs and then they said me that car will take 2-3 days to repair
And when I called there head he just switched off his phone
This car is full of problems
yeah it's true that Hyundai Toyota are expensive but trust me they provide services like that too
And to be straight forward I haven't faced such problems in my maruti Suzuki estilo till date 😕

Is it just me? I think the old XUV looks more modern, practical and interior looks more into the luxury line. While the new infotainment system, sunroof, automatic seat adjusters, Hydraulic bonnet lift are great additions, I am still figuring what was the actual need for including regenerating braking. This is not a electric car to have the batteries charged when you brake. Anyways, Mahindra could have just kept the original design of 2011 and updated the new features with the lighter beige leather upholstery. Whatever said and done, the original XUV was way better designed than the facelifted XUV of 2015.
