Both hitters and pitchers always look for an edge, it's part of the game. Rules just need to be updated with the times regarding technology. For hitters, using camera technology to obtain signs. For pitchers using grip agents to increase control and spin rate :) One thing is known for sure, Cole is a stud on the mound. Any team would be lucky to have him on the mound for them. I loved him in Houston, didn't love his exit non-interview post World Series loss. Would much rather see him in Stros gear than Yankees gear, but I understand following the money.
I definitely was not booing Cole. Didn’t like how he refused to address the press after the World Series loss, but I have the utmost respect for his skills! He’s awesome and if I remember correctly he pitched the whole game and shut us down, I think the quiet majority was not booing :)
@@dbh363 I'm sorry. I didn't mean to imply that you were the only one booing. I was just wondering why the Astros fans were booing. I'm relieved to hear your explanation. If Cole had gotten so much hate from Astros fans, I would have wondered what happened to the two great seasons he had. I'm a fan of Cole.
@@カラさん-y3e No worries. I think a lot of Astros fans were bummed that he avoided the press after that last World Series game loss. His actual statement I believe was something like, I am no longer employed by the Astros. And I think he put on his agent's hat as soon as the game was done. We really loved him as a fan and was a bummer to hear him say that. He is a stud though and got the contract he deserves in New York. Personally, I will always be grateful to him for his contribution to the Stros :) After he got booed, he shut our lineup down and pitched a complete game, so guess he got the last laugh that day ;) Isn't baseball wonderful?
@@dbh363 It was good to know once again that the fans boo the players because of their various pasts. Thank you for explaining it in detail.😁 Baseball is really great. From JAPAN 🇯🇵
Gerrit Cole is one of the most talented pitchers in the league, today and historically. I predict that he will be a Hall of Famer. As far as I know he never cheated. There are reports that he used some agents to help with grip on the baseball, but as far as I know most pitchers were using it, as it was not against the rules at that time. I didn't like his last press conference prior to leaving Houston, but I can also understand the business side of baseball. I wish he was still an Astro. Go Stros!
I love your Starting Lineup videos!!
It's a great way to chronicle the games I've been to :)
The audacity of that fan to yell cheater when cole took the mound lol

Why are you booing Cole? I know he was cheating, but didn't he play a big part in the Astros winning their district?
