The Peloton team delivered the Peloton Bike Plus which was mostly assembled upon arrival, they basically just needed to bolt the screen on, and while the delivery process was 99% perfect and the delivery crew was great, I did find one fairly serious hazard with my Peloton bike+ that i'll show you in just a moment, and there was another minor peloton bike problem we had to clear up after the team had already walked out the door.
They handed me the accessories that come with the Peloton Bike Plus along with the accessories we ordered with the bike. We ordered a pair of Peloton shoes with the delta style cleat that clips into the peloton pedals, along with a pair of 3 pound weights. The bike comes with a tool bag to make adjustments to the pedals and anything else you may need to do adjust, and also a user manual is included with the bike.The Peloton bike delivery team walked me through the setup process which was simple and took only a handful of minutes or so. We needed to select our Wifi network and punch in the password, and then enter a name for the bike. Next we connected the bike to our Peloton bike account, which we had already set up prior to their arrival. If you're getting a Peloton bike plus and you haven't set up your account yet you may want to do this ahead of time so you can have your login information for your Peloton account and your wifi password ready to roll to make the set up process quick and streamlined.The team showed me around the peloton bike plus and the major features of the bike and warned me that the flywheel can get hot from the magnetic resistance, so you shouldn't touch it.They also showed me around the software interface and a basic run down on how to use the Peloton Bike plus.The deliver team did a great job and on the way out the door they informed me they could't remove the packaging material and box because of everything that's going on right now, which I should point out they did wear a mask and gloves for the entire duration of setting up the Peloton bike plus.The peloton delivery process was perfect so far, but then I got a phone call from they forgot one important step. It wasn't until after the delivery team already left I noticed the potentially hazardous issue with the pedals on the peloton bike+ First and foremost, imagine the disaster that could occur if you were riding hard out of the saddle in a peloton class and all of a sudden the pedal completely fell off because it wasn't screwed in all the way and tightened up properly. Additionally, I wonder if the threads on the peloton bike crank arm could potentially get damaged my the pedals itself from not sitting flat and force getting applied to the threads in a way not intended. If the threads on the right crank arm were to get damaged it seems like it would be a big problem because for some reason it appears the right crank arm is welded onto the bike, so you cannot simply take the bolt off of the crank arm and remove it and replace it with a new crank arm in case you need to. I've never seen a bike with the crank arm welded personally, I wonder why the bike is designed this way.Anyway, I just got the wrench out of the tool bag and tightened up the peloton pedals so they didn't wobble any more and eliminate this peloton bike problem. I was also surprised to see there didn't appear to be any grease on the threads of the pedals, from everything i've seen online you're supposed to put grease on the pedal threads before putting them on the crank arm to prevent the threads from seizing and getting stuck on really right or permanently. I have to admit I'm guilty of sometimes skipping this step myself, however when buying a new peloton bike for over $2000 it's a step I wouldn't expect to be overlooked.The delivery process for the Peloton bike plus was very pleasant and the team did a great job delivering the bike. There were no major peloton bike problems. It was originally scheduled to arrive at 4pm, but the team actually contacted us that morning and said they could bring it a few hours early if it worked for us. This worked perfectly since I was at home and we agreed to them arriving in 20 minutes.So far our Peloton bike plus experience has been great, and I have more videos coming soon. Called to confirm in the AM, and went to pick it up. Incidentally, it was instore payment and pickup only. Also, there were actually two bikes in stock when I got there.

Thanks for the heads up about checking the pedals, I don't think I would have. I'd rather just get the bike in the shipping box and put it together myself. I'm going to buy the Bike Plus and if I can't get it delivered to me in the box, then once they bring it to the doorway . . . I'll take it from there. What a cute dog you have! I'm a dog lover and have 2 little Beagle/Terrier mix rescue dogs.

I always check the pedals on any bike that I'm about to ride. That check also includes the pedal clips and the clips on my shoes and the seat. For road riding my checks are far more extensive. I would suggest doing this before each ride never assume anything!
Good information. I was wondering about the pedals because my plan is to switch them so I can use Tiem shoes instead of the Peloton shoes which I’ve heard are uncomfortable. So hopefully mine won’t be too hard to change. My bike is due Oct 26🤞🏽

I have the original peloton, and seeing a lot of issues with pedals coming off. Could you do a video on pedal maintenance. How to tighten it , greasing the bolt. That would be incredibly helpful for bike novice like myself ❤️
Congratulations on the Bike+. I just got mine the other day and have a small issue with mine as well. For some reason no matter how tight I tighten the seat knob my seat will progressively lower throughout the workout. It's very annoying. Peloton is shipping my a new sleeve and knob so hopefully that fixes it. Aside from that I am loving the bike!

Good thing that the rotation direction on the pedals and the threads normally tightens the pedal and not loosens it up. Still not very nice that they didn’t tighten them properly.

I just had my bike delivered today. They did the same exact thing and “forgot” to note the serial number. So I sent them a photo as well. Felt strange but now feels even weirder seeing it happened to you too. Maybe it’s nothing lol
I’m a Peloton delivery guy as well...and the serial number is needed to close your delivery. Sometime we forgot to scan that due to which we are unable to close your delivery. That’s the reason we call customer for serial numbers. Btw Happened with me too.😅
I was surprised by how big the Peleton was also. I have a small space and looked at their small space blog pics. It looked smaller there.
I used to work in 2 different peloton warehouses, as a supervisor and later as a new division head. Theres so much that is overlooked in assembly. And also the delivery times are all out if whack because they greedily sold product they did not have.

TailHappyTV Haha...no. I was joking. I’m in SLC. There’s no way you can sell that thing for a decent price and ship it. If I don’t go Peloton, I’m leaning toward Schwinn IC4 as it has more options for 3rd party app connectivity. If Echelon were smart, this is what they should do.

I received my bike on Saturday, my son in law took delivery, but I checked the pedal and it was tight. The users manual said to check the pedal every now and then to make sure it says tight. Unfortunenately the driver didn't leave me the tool pouch and Im not having much luck getting in contact with him. If I need to, I'll contact customer service.

This happened to me. Received my bike + two weeks ago and my first ride the pedal snapped off and some of the threading came off as well. Peloton is sending a new frame due to not having any parts for the Bike+ yet 🥴

This just happened to me today. I got my bike and the pedal snapped off I’ll be calling tomorrow. If you don’t mind me asking how long did it take to get the new frame?
You mentioned lubricating the thread on the pedals....BUT actually it would make more sense to use a loctite Threat sealant to help prevent the pedals from coming off and help prevent or tolerate the vibration inherently going to occur with pedaling....and also the sealant would prevent it from coming undone unless you actively "want" it to come off with wrench to take it off. A lubricant on the areas that actually allow for pedal spinning makes sense though....Can you or anyone provide a reason the. lubrication would make more sense or at the very least an Anti-Seize compound more so than lubrication but same thing arises that is the part that should be lock on sturdy and tight until you actively want to loosen it or remove that specific part .....Oh and if you do use the loctite rubber-like compound, it is like only a tiny amount (a dab on both sides of the threads) and not coating all the threads entirely this will occur naturally once you thread it in. AND, once you wrench it off, this compound should come off as well just use a stiff bristle to remove on both attachment threads and receiving part and apply again if reattaching again for maintenance or putting on new pedal attachments. This goes without saying i would think BUT be sure to wipe any excess which should be none really but just in case for those not use to using. (same usually goes for lubricants, oils, sealants and anti-sieze compounds). Some areas do require a lubricants, or a grease, or an anti-seize, or an oil, but that location is definitely NOT one of the locations you want an oil or lubricant, or grease base substance. Maybe an anti-seize compound but that is again not a lubricant. OH BTW, GREAT VIDEO.....lots of needed info that was good to know and be aware of as well.

Greatest customer service I’ve ever experienced. Maybe because I live in the city. Idk. Delivery was early and pleasant. Weeks later I needed my seat fixed, they literally came in 2 hours. They make everything incredibly easy and seamless. I will be a customer for a long time.
Hello! While I check the pedals, do you recommend I ask the delivery team to take off pedals and add a little grease as well?
I doubt they would have grease with them, but it wouldn't hurt to ask I suppose! It's a step I often neglect, I haven't had a problem on any of my bikes other than the pedals getting really tight and "stuck" which led to me buying a pedal wrench to get them off.
Mine was delivered today with out pedal bike shoes. My wife was pretty upset.
Two tips for everyone - the LEFT crank is REVERSE threaded. So the right crank is Leftie Loosie' and Righty Tighty - the conventional way. The non-drive side ( left crank) is the complete opposite. Go easy on the grease. A little copper slip will help prevent future seizing but applying too much will result in over torquing' your pedals beyond their design.

Hey, how high were you able to get your handle bars up? Mine seem to stick at K but I’ve seen they go much higher and others are having difficulty getting them up to maximum height. Thanks in advance.
We ordered a Peloton and are now concerned with our ceiling height. Our finished basement has 7 ft. ceilings, will this be an issue?

For this kind of pedal and crank arm there shall be also a washer in between the two.

Yes.. if you unscrew the pedal.. you will see the recess in the crank.. that is the place for washer that distributes some of the forces.. perhaps it is not critical but I learned it as bike mechanic that it shall be there..

We ordered a Bike + April of 21 and was expected late May, 6 weeks from order date. The day came and they said the delivery truck broke down. So we waited about another 5-6 weeks and they never called. We called and the delivery driver didn’t show up. They said they couldn’t get one delivered to us for over a month and were rude on the phone. We canceled and ordered a proform studio 22. It’ll be here in less than a week.

If you have any problems call customer service to send a Service Technician out to check out the bike
The crank arm comes off the bottom bracket and also removes from the sprocket once the outter belt gaurd is removed. In case you need help I recommend to call customer service and ask for a Technician to check it out.
Also recommend the extended warranty if you religiously use the bike 👍
How is your bike doing? I had mine 3 days and it is dead. After going online I found many people are having problems. I chatted online tonight and the tech is overnighting me a new screen. After the call I was able to use the bike power cord and power the screen so that is not going to be a fix. I will be calling again in the morning. I really hope your bike is doing better than mine!

My Peloton+ just arrived after waiting two months for delivery. The screen doesn’t turn on and it won’t power up. Haven’t even ridden ONE time. Peloton is coming out Friday for fix, but super disappointed that such an expensive product doesn’t work.
Wow, that's crazy. I wonder if they messed up plugging a wire in for the screen. Did they assemble it at your home?
I think untighted pedals are not the story. Why would peloton weld the crank arms? What happens if you need different length arms??
Has anyone figured out how to keep the seat from dropping on it's own on the Bike +? We just got the bike a couple weeks ago, and no matter how tight we turn the knob, it still slips down during a ride. Anyone solve this this issue?
I just received my bike today and noticed a white light on lower left screen .. kinda like what a computer screen looks like when it about to go out. its ver small but very distracting.
It sounds like you might be describing a stuck pixel or a hot pixel, is it just like one single bright pixel that always stays white? I'd reach out to support and let them know if there is a problem.

Hi, I'm trying to see, if the delivery truck can't make it up my road (I live in the mountains on a private road) if I'll be able to fit the bike+ (with the screen removed) in the back of my Jeep Wrangler (back seat removed). With the handlebars lowered as far down as they will go, could you measure from the top of the arm that the screen mounts to, to the floor and tell me what the height is? and from the top of the screen mount arm to the back of the bike, what the length is? I'm assuming I can't just remove the handlebars by loosening the knob and lifting out, because of the wires that are now inside? Thanks for any help / info.
Floor to top of screen mount is either 41.5 inches or 45 inches depending on where the screen detaches, handlebars all the way down. From back of bike bottom to front of screen arm is 52 inches.

To give you a quick update - I ordered the Stages SB20 bike. I've filed two complaints against Peloton - and both were sent to Peloton by each government body. They are on a big-time watch list now. I still don't have a working bike - and it's been over 3 years. Don't buy this bike. Sell them now- get rid of it - and move on with your army of other bikes - Keiser is just fine. My NINTH Bike Swap comes tomorrow (May 4th). Last 3 swaps are all bad frames. It's terrible stuff. Stock is sinking. Best to get off now.
Hi there! Can you tell me how many inches the width and length of the base is? Everything says 2x4 feet but the drawings show that from end to end not necessarily just the base. Thanks!

Wd40 is degreaser, dont use that.

Totally unacceptable. I’m assuming that when you sign for delivery you are waiving any liabilities towards Peloton in case you get hurt from them assembling your bike? I have heard about all kinds of problems associated with the bike+ from the pedals to the screen being dead. And it doesn’t help that Pelotons customer service sucks. I just got my regular bike last week and was considering upgrading but I’m not so sure if I really want to do that.
That's the same thing I was thinking Brian, I would think no one would check to see if the pedals are tightened up. I know I didn't I just happened to notice it by luck. I don't recall signing any paperwork for the delivery, but Sabrina may have at some point. I was anxious to see how the delivery process went after hearing all the rumors, but so far so good besides what i mentioned in the video. Luckily we haven't had any need for customer service yet, but if we do i'll share the details. Happy riding Brian!
My delivery was totally great and it was by JB Hunt although the email said it would be by Peloton. Anyways I had to return my wifes shoes. I tried the online chat and got kicked off twice. The third time I was number 174 in que and it took just over an hour for a rep to come on. He tells me he will email me a return label and then of course never did.
On top of that the people at the store local to us were not very helpful when we went in to check out the bike in person before our delivery. But whatever. We’re happy with the bike! 😃
What type of grease did you use put on thread?
Use anything you’d use for a normal bicycle, so ask in a bike shop if unsure. Here in Germany I’d use the "classic" one from Galli. But in the US there are probably different products.
Easy fix on those pedals since they left you with the tools.
My bike + was delivered on9/22 and screen won’t turn I called snd they won’t be able to fix it until 10/22
That's a really long wait, I'd be trying to fix it myself. Does it power on or is it just completely blank?
We had exactly the same issue...very dangerous. We also had a none working bike delivered; no metrics. Over a week and still no resolution. Terrible customer service.

My question is: I would like to put my bike in the basement but my basement has low ceilings. I am concerning if I will be able to put it in my basement, I am short so I am not sure if I will be able able or not to do it
That’s a great question and I really can’t answer that for you. My best guess would be to take your own measurement and then add on whatever the distance from the floor to the top of the pedal stroke would be. I would think that would be about the maximum height you would ever reach. If I had to ballpark what that measurement would be, I’d say the top of the pedal stroke is maybe 1 foot off the ground, but you should definitely fact check that. I hope this helps.
Actually, the crank arms are about 6.6 inches so multiply that by two and that’s around 13 inches from top to bottom of the pedal stroke, then add on, however many inches from the floor the bottom of the pedal stroke would be, so maybe 17 inches plus your height?
However, when you’re at the top of the pedal stroke, it’s not like you’re standing fully extended, so…. I don’t know I think I drink too much coffee.😆

I am not a fan of their pedals. I've owned a Peloton v2 Bike for almost 3 years. My ROI was achieved quickly - but I am not happy with their lack of quality under the covers. I may upgrade once my warranty runs out - which was compensated to me (2 years additional) since I had so many bike swaps (6). Just had the drive train maintenance done (new bearings kit) and given the newest tablet for the v2 bike. I have all of my maintenance documented from Peloton for anyone who needs to validate my comments. Get different pedals. When I do upgrade to whatever solution I want - I will mod my v2 bike and keep it.
Yoir comment makes me worry about the lifespan of the bearings, which I dont know anything about. What pedals would you recommend?
@@TailHappyTV I have a pair of the standard Schwinn Indoor spin pedals for both Look Delta and SPD and I use the SPD side - they work great. However - I am looking to get the FAVERO Assoima Duo Side Pedal Based Power Meter. I want to measure the effectiveness of the V2 Bike's Power Meter versus the top of the line industry favorite - and then see if I need to convert over to that instead (most likely the answer is yes). I think any pedals outside of Peloton are a good idea. I've had a pedal break on me within 3K miles (I believe).
@@TailHappyTV BTW - I was told by the technical leads at Peloton the new Bike+ doesn't have the bearings issue as the v2 bike. So I wouldn't worry too much about the lifespan of the bearings. I'm researching Stages SB2 - I think once my warranty runs out I will go with that bike instead. I can then use it across any biking application and move the Peloton solution to a hybrid bootcamp modification.

@@TailHappyTV Yeah so have I - there's a ton of ideas/products out there now. I would say it's transformational in the past 3-5 years. I think Peloton needs to conceptualize even more to keep up - I don't think they are cutting edge anymore.
