Love the bowls with the spouts... good pottery is always so nice to have. The wok is a fantastic find! Great finds on all the clothes ... especially the girls. Keeping them modest, but yet cute clothing.
People may say the things you find are priced up but what you're finding seem brand new! So worth it! My local thrift stores are outrageously priced for really crappy quality things. It's discouraging honestly from even thrifting. I usually have to travel much further away to get to good thrift stores. You mentioned goats ate your shirt....you have goats?! I'd love to see a little tour of your farm and what you've done with with it so far or animals you guys have acquired thus far 😍
I absolutely love our videos. It's like chatting with an amazing good friend every time you post. You always share from your heart. Please keep doing that and don't be hard on yourself. Hugs!
Thanks for sharing! I went thrifting this past weekend, for the first time in forever and was shocked at prices... But , it's entirely worth it, to lessen the impact.
Thank you for sharing this video. I only buy thrifted/seconhand/used/pre loved items or barter, unless they are handcrafted from artisans, preferably local (which is rare). I've got to tell you that I've never heard of the Harrowsmith readers, they sounded very interesting - my kind of books! I now own 5 of them all purchased at secondhand stores. Harrowsmith 1,2,3, a country journal and the complete cookbook (includes all 3 cookbooks) JACKPOT! Also super cheap 😊 again, thank you for sharing.
I love your thrifting videos and the way you talk about each item you purchased!! It’s so relatable as I am also often discouraged by thrift store prices and the lack of change rooms at value village.
I know exactly the thrift store chain you are talking about, and I find their refusal to reopen the changerooms, while also refusing to give refunds extremely predatory. Also jacking up the prices when they literally get their merchandise for free. It's infuriating! Where are Canadians supposed to go to find affordable clothes and home goods? If even the thrift stores are trying to suck every last penny out of us, and putting profit over morals, what options are left?? Anyways... that's my rant. Loved the haul, Amber! Your videos always inspire me 😊🍂
We have a little community store that lets you fill a bag for $5! Obviously the selection isn't always great, but it's great for kids stuff, and i have found some gems, plus the money stays in the community. 😊
I LOVE those bowls!!! Great find. Being from the US I found your prices to be about the same as ours. Those name brand items had great prices as well. I snagged my daughter a Columbia Omni heat shield coat for $40 last week... original price $180! We love thrifting!
❤ such a cute haul. Treat yourself more, been through exactly the same, wearing same stuff renovating property, putting everything thing into the kids and renovating. Realised I had very little without stains and paint on. Sometimes its nice to have a few nice things for yourself, treat yourself, you deserve it and are worth it, you work so hard and put so much thought in everything you do and are building a strong future and legacy😊 Treat yourself x
Some of the GW’s in my area brought back the fitting rooms and others different. It’s clear to me that management of individual stores has a lot of liberty to do things their own ways.
that's such a lovely haul - and perfect that these types of hauls are rare, just makes sense to buy things as needed like you say, am the same...also what great finds for the children and it's mad to think they are so big now!
I’m the same way finding clothes at thrift stores 😂 If I find an old vintage tee or linen/wool stuff I’ll scoop it up, but it’s rare. I did hit the jackpot on pottery at the thrift store last weekend. Score 😏
I love all your videos. I'm in the US, and we have 1 thrift store locally that we prefer. It's a Salvation Army . We like it because each week they have a discount on different colored tags. And one color is always .99 cents each week . It's still hit or miss, but it's nice we have a chance at something more affordable. As to the dressing rooms, yes, they are trying to close them permanently at this location. If that happens, I won't shop there as much because you can't return or exchange items. All sales are final. I have always loved your videos they are very informative . Thank you for sharing. ✌️
I have a red cast iron wok like that. I paid $200+ for it. You got a great deal! And I know exactly what thrift shop chain you’re referring to. It’s ridiculous that they don’t have dressing rooms. And where I live, they don’t allow returns, even within two weeks. Not cool.
just got a job and Im celebrating with ''pancakes'' I made from whatever I have at home and enjoying them with 3 different jams I made from fruits where going bad and on sale at the grocery store and drinking tea that I picked my self, I have to live in the city for my education but I can't wait to go back out to the country site, you inspire me to be more sustainable! lots of love from Iceland
Wow. you found some great things. You are right; the thrift stores in Canada are kind of pricey. I always enjoy any type content you wish to share. Also I love the sweater you were wearing. Almost all of my clothing are thrifted; and I donate when we have things we don't want or need anymore. One of my latest finds was a keurig coffee maker for 8.00 that was like new. If I had bought a new one they are 80.00 or up depending on the model.
The struggle is real with finding longer shorts for my 13 yr old daughter. Everything is SO SHORT 😮 and she doesn't want to hang out of her shorts either. If we find one style that works I usually end up buying 5 pairs of them lol.
I love seeing thrift hauls. The thrift stores near us have increased prices too mostly because of resellers. It really is sad for the people that depend on them to afford what they need. I also wear mostly the same things all the time until they fall apart. I do have a few clothes for leaving the farm. So glad you found some great things for everyone.
One of our big thrift store chains recently got rid of their dressing rooms in the US. It's super frustrating because I'm a very weird size and hard to fit. It seems like they lowered their prices a tiny bit when they took the dressing rooms out, but they are still higher than most of the other thrift stores around here. I rarely buy clothes there anymore.
Wow! You really did a good job finding things at the thrift stores. Sadly, I have very little thrift stores where I live. I never find anything quality in them. If I did, I'd buy the items but unfortunately that doesn't happen. Thanks for showing us what you got.
I totally agree about girls shorts. They can be a real challenge to find in a length that is better for my outdoors, tree climbing, garden loving girl . Just this morning I saw scalloped ,tiny shorts for toddlers in a chain store . So impractical whether their nappy wearing or growing active kids. Haha. I think of second hand the same , compared to new and if I'm saving money on a quality item or just something I actually need then I'm ok to pay more. Our op shops in Australia are increasing in price every year too . We really have to be discerning now of whether the item is worth the price. I'm glad you found some items for you ❤That wok looks fantastic! Enjoy . Thank you for sharing ❤
I love your thrift hauls, prices have gotten out of hand, but that's everywhere and still cheaper then retail. Always get a little jealous, you find great stuff! Thanks for sharing!
Great finds! I know the store you mean. I find the prices cheaper there than Talize, but Talize has change rooms (at least my local one does) and gift cards for returns!! So, that's the trade off. Prices aside, I'll always thrift for the environmental impact. 🌎 ❤
Value Village/Savers is sooooo expensive! I've shopped in ON and NY thrift stores, and prices seem the same to me (though I am much closer to Canada than a lot of the country!) I agree with you! The prices have gone up, but it's still cheaper than buying new. And you get to find cool, unique things!
I know the store chain you’re talking about. In the U.S. West it’s called Savers and in Houston, Texas it’s called Value Village. They won’t let people try on stuff in the aisles in the ones I’ve been to. A staff member will come over and stop you, even it’s a cardigan. So disappointing. They were our favorite before the pandemic. 😢
Value Village on the prairies 🇨🇦 is outrageous. Dresses are $20-$24! Tops are $10-$14. Jeans are $16-$24! I just can't justify it. I drove past VV (which is 100 km away from my town) to go to a church thrift shop today.... clothing was $2 an item! For $24 I got: 2 sweaters, 3 tops, 2 skirts, a shearling vest, a pair of pants, a pair of shoes and 2 kitchen items!!! My fall wardrobe is all set!! (I needed clothes because I changed sizes).
Awesome finds! The wok is a great one! About prices, I think people don't realize that CAD is not USD! We Americans tend to think in self-centered terms, lol. Something that costs you $10, is actually only $7.30 to us, because the exchange rate right now is CAD $1=USD $0.73. ;)
Great finds! I especially love the bowls and the wok-amazing quality! Wondering where you shoped if that's alright to ask? Do you have other haunts that you frequent for quality thrifts? Also just FYI-Ottawa has it's annual One World Bazaar staring soon...it's not super inexpensive but they do have sales in December/January. It makes for a wonderful family day wandering through their market barn. Plus they usually have extra things for entertainment going on. It reminds me of Ten Thousand Villages, that is "no more" in Ottawa or Kingston for that matter:(
Such good values and thoughts. Oh and the little dress for your youngest is amazing!! Looks so summery and nice. Also, may I suggest getting a sewing machine so you can patch up the holes and make alterations to clothes? Have a beautiful autumn!
I absolutely agree about THAT thrift store chain…I no longer donate to them. We have a St. Vincent de Paul in our city that I donate to and they still have change rooms! They also do a lot to help the local community. I’m sick of Value Village and how they pretend they are helping communities, but they have out priced their store for people who truly cannot afford the current prices. So gross. On a good note, great finds overall…always so exciting to find something you have been looking for🥰🥰🥰
I am extremely picky about my clothes as I will only wear 100% cotton. Cotton clothes are hard to find in my price range so thrifting is a great way to find that rare gem that I’m looking for at a more affordable price. I always look forward to your videos pretty much whatever you are doing. ❤
The prices of thrift stores all over are becoming ridiculous. I went the other day to get some more Mason jars because I ran out for canning. I was horrified that the only options the thrift store had were emptied out, stained spaghetti sauce jars from the grocery store for $2-3 EACH. 😱 Are you kidding me? Unfortunately, cheaper to buy new in this case 😕
Agree, just exchanging it for credit is wrong. I buy a some clothes cheap in supermarkets (UK), they also got rid of the changing rooms but luckily have a money back guarantee
They do this in the U.S. too for savers/Unique and Goodwill. I don't go there anymore if I can't try things on. There are other thrift store that do let you.
Please continue the thrift hauls. You teach so much about thrifting. Our dressing rooms opened back up at all stores. How inconvenient for them not to be open I like that you get longer shorts for your girls. That's more modest. I knew a family that had a rule that the girls had to put their hands at their sides. If the dress/shorts went passed their finger tips they could get it. If not, no. Prices are high at our thrift stores in the US too
I think, rules for girls and pushing them for modest clothes cant be the solution. Girls need the freedom to wear whatever they want. The society has to stop pushing girls into being cute and sexy and boys cool and strong, let them be kids! Until they are teenagers, there is no need for a difference in shorts/pants/pullovers
The bigger thrift chains like Value Village and Salvation Army have ridiculous prices these days. Guy Frenchies is still pretty decent. Yes!, the short shorts.... why do they do that!?
Canadas thrift proses sound like Australia. Now ya have to be careful when shopping second hand cos sometimes things are listed more in the op shop than it is brand new now. I frequently google items now when clothes shopping
That was such a good thrift haul!! You found such amazing items!! I live in Canada too, so I know what you mean about the prices 😮💨 Also, the thrift chain!!! I have the same gripe!! I try not to go there if I can help it, but I know for a lot of cities, that's pretty much the only choice for a second hand store. I'm fortunate to have a local one that supports the SPCA, so I try to go there. The prices are way better, and they have a change room! You found great items, and the prices were decent!! (By Canadian standards!) I'd love to see more thrift videos when you go in the future :)
Value village is the worst for pricing these days. We go to a local thrift store, and the prices are great (im in Oshawa, ON). most shirts are standard price at like 5.99. unless its new with tags. Value village has gotten insanely corporate. I haven't shopped with them, since I saw self checkouts. Prices are way up, for less staff, that was a big no for me.
From the US. Unfortunately those boots would have been $40 in the thrift stores here worn or not. 😞 Things have definitely changed and I love seeing people get good deals. Thank you for sharing! At the same time, some of my local rural thrift stores are “Fill a bag for ten dollars “.
I live in Wisconsin, rurally, and the thrift store places here really vary. Luckily we have a small, local, village thrift that is AMAZING with low prices.
I'm in Canada too and it makes me frustrated also that the Sally Anne's don't have fitting rooms and don't give you money back, because obviously I don't have extra money.... also I live 4 hrs away, and also visit that store only when I travel to saskatoon for medical appointments so I'm not likely to even get back there within a 2 week time limit.
We have a certain second hand store here in nz that sounds just the store you're talking about. They never brought changing rooms back after covid and they do no returns .
Have you tried using Vinted instead of thrift stores? You can find specific brands that you like and set price limits using the filter. I personally love it as I can find all the eco conscious brands that I favour for great prices, I just got some great quality second hand grimms toys on there for my daughters birthday 😊x
Unfortunately we don’t have Vinted in Canada, I think they trialed it here at some point but then pulled it? I do sometimes browse on Poshmark, but haven’t found much… I like trying things on so that’s sometimes a deterrent. I did buy some Keen sandals on there this year though! And love Grimms btw, I had some second hand toys by them for the kids!
I can't speak for Canadian thrift stores. But being a American and thrifting since I was a child because we were poor I can say that American thrift stores have mainly upped their prices because they caught on to ppl who thrift vintage or high end labels who resale for higher prices. It's also worse if the goodwill is privately owned. So in at least louisiana you can go to 3 diff goodwills and the shoes will be 3 different prices and even high if it's a name brand. They let us use the dressing rooms again but salvation army got rid of them. I'm also thinking for salvation army it's because they hiked yo their prices and ppl where stealing because they can no longer afford THRIFT store prices....it's ridiculous here.
Whenever you thrift…. I want to see!!! Thank you for sharing ❤❤❤
I love when you do thrift store pick up videos! I think they’re great and help people see that thrift stores are awesome for finding great items! ❤😊
I LOVE this video...I've been watching you for years and it reminds me of the early days of your channel!!! You got some GREAT stuff.... xo
Those bowls are SOOOO your VIBE! 🎉 I love that for you 😊 and that WOK! girl! Great find 👏👏👏
Thank you!! 😊
Love the bowls with the spouts... good pottery is always so nice to have. The wok is a fantastic find! Great finds on all the clothes ... especially the girls. Keeping them modest, but yet cute clothing.

Yay! Thank you!
Absolutely LOVE the H&M dress!!! What a great haul 💗.
I love your thrifting videos and the way you talk about each item you purchased!! It’s so relatable as I am also often discouraged by thrift store prices and the lack of change rooms at value village.
Great finds! Those long sweaters are called dusters. I love those, as well! Have a few.♥️
I know exactly the thrift store chain you are talking about, and I find their refusal to reopen the changerooms, while also refusing to give refunds extremely predatory. It's just as bad in the states. I'm in louisiana and us people who don't make much can no longer afford used clothing lol.
We have a little community store that lets you fill a bag for $5! Obviously the selection isn't always great, but it's great for kids stuff, and i have found some gems, plus the money stays in the community. 😊

I always want to see what you thrift!! I also can't believe how big your kids are now!!
❤ such a cute haul.

I love videos like this!! I so miss day in the life videos. I’m glad you are doing well ❤
I also love thrifting,it's like a treasure hunt and prices are good!!
I always love your thrifting videos. Thanks for sharing. ❤️
Some of the GW’s in my area brought back the fitting rooms and others different. It’s clear to me that management of individual stores has a lot of liberty to do things their own ways.
I’ve been with you so, so many years, and I rarely comment anymore. But, I just wanted to say ‘HI, I’m still with you’ 💜
Such a great thrift shop haul! Those bowls and the red wok are amazing finds 😮
I know!! So happy about them!
I loved this video!! I always loved watching you guys go out and get your pantry items, or go out and about years ago!
Great finds Amber!😊
LOVE your thrift hauls!!!
that's such a lovely haul - and perfect that these types of hauls are rare, just makes sense to buy things as needed like you say, am the same...also what great finds for the children and it's mad to think they are so big now!
You found some great bargains! Love the boots! I'm like you. I wear the same thing all the time. If it's comfy I wear it.
I’m the same way finding clothes at thrift stores 😂 If I find an old vintage tee or linen/wool stuff I’ll scoop it up, but it’s rare. I did hit the jackpot on pottery at the thrift store last weekend. Score 😏
That’s awesome!!!
I live in New York & thrift stores here are so expensive as well thanks for sharing your haul 💚❤️
I love all your videos. I'm in the US, and we have 1 thrift store locally that we prefer. It's a Salvation Army . We like it because each week they have a discount on different colored tags. just got a job and Im celebrating with ''pancakes'' I made from whatever I have at home and enjoying them with 3 different jams I made from fruits where going bad and on sale at the grocery store and drinking tea that I picked my self, I have to live in the city for my education but I can't wait to go back out to the country site, you inspire me to be more sustainable! lots of love from Iceland
That’s lovely!! You can be sustainable anywhere 🤗❤️

Love the denim dress. Hope it ended up fitting well.
It did! Perfectly!
I am really happy for you 😊 finding cool stuff
Thank you 😁
The struggle is real with finding longer shorts for my 13 yr old daughter. Everything is SO SHORT 😮 and she doesn't want to hang out of her shorts either. If we find one style that works I usually end up buying 5 pairs of them lol.
Great finds! Thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks for watching!
You don't have to justify your spending to us. I want to see what your thrifting because I love thrifting and I want to support your channels.
I also aways wear long tops, but I realized this summer, with super high waist bottoms, adding a cropped top looks cuter!!❤
I love seeing thrift hauls. The thrift stores near us have increased prices too mostly because of resellers. It really is sad for the people that depend on them to afford what they need. Hey Whitney!! I love finding creators "in the wild"! So cool when people I watch follow each other! 😊
I love thrift stores and I love this video!!👍👍 I also loved everything you bought!! !! Lol
Wow! You really did a good job finding things at the thrift stores. Sadly, I have very little thrift stores where I live. I never find anything quality in them. If I did, I'd buy the items but unfortunately that doesn't happen. Thanks for showing us what you got.
I’ve only been three times this year… we have to drive a few hours to get to one because we live rurally, so I get it!
Merrells are great, I have walking boots and sandals and they last forever. Good finds!
Thank you for sharing your treasures!!
Thank you for watching!
First time watching. Loved this. Now to binge watch and subscribe. ❤
Yay! Thank you!
My husband also refuses to buy new clothes until his old clothes literally desintegrated
Thank you for such cool video❤
My husband is the same way with clothes.

Loved this! You looked so happy to get a few goodies for you! ❤️
Some really good finds! I know what you mean about the change rooms (VV).
This has to be savers lol. Same in California, I live about 90 minutes away from it and hate that they don’t have fitting rooms!
Loved this, Such Great finds!!! I love how you say "buttons"😊💙
Honestly, those prices seem in line with the Savers here in New England. All quality names. Love those bowls!
Excellent thrift haul!! We are having the same issues with store in the US too. Way over priced for donated items.
i love drift stores! great finds you had

Our thrift store prices have gone through the roof. We can buy new in a place called k~mart for cheaper than thrift shops. Love your haul ❤️❤️❤️
That was such a good thrift haul!! You found such amazing items!!
I live in Canada too, so I know what you mean about the prices 😮💨
Also, the thrift chain!!!
Great finds!
Wow! Bench is a brand from the Philippines. Amazing! ❤
Omg your baby is a tall baby ❤
We have a certain second hand store here in nz that sounds just the store you're talking about. They never brought changing rooms back after covid and they do no returns .
I JUST LOVE WATCHING YOUR THRIFT STORE VIDOES AND THREAD-UP I THINK THAT'S THE NAME OF THE SECOND HAND STORE YOU BUY FROM 😊
Love your hauls🎉
OMG, you are so right about the girls shorts... and crop shirts too! I hate it. It is so hard to find normal girl clothing that is not revealing.
Whatever you spent, it was worth it!
Thanks for sharing!
Thrift prices are really high here in rural PA and NY area...think due to so many ppl flipping. Flipping has become huge since lockdown
Finding shorts that are a decent length is ridiculous now! I find looking in the boys section to be the best bet!
fun video
