  • Part of a new series I plan on diving in on the channel were we ride the Honda Shadow through the city talking about the two types of people in this world. In this installment we have a little chat about having the ability to laugh at yourself and what that demonstrates towards your character. Quite simply there are those that can take a joke and those who can not.
    Enjoy the Ryde 🔥

There are young bullies and old bullies. That’s what I call those people that dish it out but can’t take it. I learned a long long time ago that laughing, joking, and joy are their kryptonite lol. They are severely insecure. They live with anger and hate. They despise the smile on your face. So, smile bigger. Laugh louder. Let their negativity roll off your back and do a dance as you brush it off. Because dancing really pisses them off. As a matter of fact, sing a little song while you’re dancing and watch them run 🤣🤣🤣🤣 lollllll. Don’t let anyone steal your joy!

I don't feel like I get bullied by anyone. Fortunately, I never really dealt with anything like that. Unfortunately, it certainly exists. You are again, correct. 💯 Kill 'em with kindness and don't show any negative emotion. There is so much else in life to "worry" about that the little things don't bother me. Another benefit to getting older is that you start to realize what truly matters and where to place your energy. "Don't let anyone steal your joy!"

I can usually take a joke directed at me as long as I know you like me or hate me. If I think you have disdain for me but act civilly then I usually end up double guessing everything you say. And....if you hate me, I don't listen to anything you say anyway. LOL

Ignore the negativity! Love it. There are those that can’t be happy and if you are what that can't become, they strive to tear you down to their level. It is said that misery loves company… Sad but true. Keep your mentality!

Mentioning the filler words and talking while riding really hit with me. Often times when I edit my videos I’m also struck by how many pauses I do in the middle of a sentence.
I love the edit for the keyboard warriors. 😆 Unfortunately, those people just seem to be part of the whole TH-cam package. Like you, I prefer to respond with sarcasm because as you mentioned, there’s no point in getting in an argument. Even still, I’m amazed when someone leaves a negative comment on extremely benign content.
Possible topic- have your experiences as a firefighter affected your opinion of riding or your approach to riding? No worries if it’s not something you’re interested in addressing or if it truly hasn’t affected your riding in anyway. 😆

I have a few videos already shot but the last one is nearly destroyed with wind noise. My microphone decided to change positions on me but it seems like I can fix it with a little Adobe Audition magic. Where are you going with this? Glad you asked. I love your topic idea and will definitely film that Q and A soon. Might be on the channel sooner rather than later depending on the whole microphone debacle.
I also have come up with the idea planning my bullet points pre ride. I still don’t want to use a script but maybe a little more structured to get what I want to say out there and not come back later in post and realizing I forgot to say everything I really wanted to. The rambler… It is apparent that I can switch lanes in the middle my main topic to talk about anything that presents itself.
Messing with my live streams, it has been tougher to keep a one sided conversation going. Having the camera in my face is a completely different feeling. Looking into that as well and switching things up. Riding the bike (especially doing Uber Eats) there is a lot to talk about that happens all around but actually having a conversation in mind and then trying to do multiple things at once can cause the filler words to fly. I cut out way more than I used to which has kept my videos under 20 mins again for the most part.
Getting long winded again but I’m going to continue anyway.
I love reading comments and do so on other videos too. I have been “lucky” that I don’t have very many, in fact the one’s I had were when I was doing TH-cam Shorts. Those days are over. I’ve read your interactions and I am really proud. You give them the sarcasm too which is absolutely perfect! Makes me smile while reading your responses since the internet can absolutely destroys one’s confidence. One negative person per 100’s of positives.
Thanks for watching and leaving the comment/topic!

The point of how people perceive you really struck me. I grew up always seeking perfection and being as good as I can and that carried over in to adulthood. When I got hired on at the PD I struggled with cutting myself some slack, then when I switched to IT I struggled and still do struggle with that same issue. I gotta learn to really focus on what I can change and deal with. Good video bro.

I view being your own worst critic a positive characteristic. Now there are extremes, don’t get me wrong but as mentioned, those are the people that give a damn about what it is they are putting effort into. If they come up short, you hardly have to say a word, if anything you’re building them up and not compiling negativity. Seems like we are the types of people that anything you say won’t be worse than how we feel. It’s a self-motivator and once again, as mentioned, shows you care about the end goal.
Good luck with IT. When I was growing up and seriously thinking about what type of career I was going to shoot for it was either police or fire. Being in any sort of law enforcement now a days is nearly a thankless job. I’m sure you have some stories but the world of IT is ever expanding and people like me have to call to get their passwords reset. Just messing. There is a lot more to IT than that and you will always be lightyears ahead of me on the technology side.
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I really do appreciate it!
