Very poignant, very beautiful. Thank you for allowing us to think upon our coming deaths, something no-one will avoid. I am Heathen, my parents were also Heathen yet their view of the Afterlife differed from mine. They went to join our Ancestors. If I am able, I would try to be a Disir-like being, able to watch over my grandchildren. I don't take anything for granted. In reality I do not know where my Afterlife will take me but if we get what we believe, core deep, no pretense, no false gilding, no assumptions...then I'll meet my Ancestors and perhaps reside in a landscape my soul belongs to. It's always been North. My power is North. I suspect that makes no sense. But it's truth, anyway. I'm an old woman now and with very much less time ahead than behind me. I don't fear death (what would be the point? It's unavoidable) though I hope when my time comes to travel that particular journey, my Grandmother, a hard headed, practical but wise old Heathen woman, might meet me with a lamp to guide my steps forward. And if Tor can use an old serving woman or weaver amongst his folk, I wouldn't complain overmuch at the work. I love your connection to the reindeer. We have red deer here that come to our doors, the folks here feed them carrots and apples. They are very tame and very beautiful. Such creatures teach us so much. I wish more people would listen to them. Your videos and words remind us that we would do well to reconnect to the world our Ancestors walked in, lived in and knew in ways we can only imagine.
