When they played this song last Friday in NYC they had the female vocalist on stage as well. It was incredible. My favorite song on the album for sure.
+David Mahone "Shadow" I will take you where Where your shadow Your shadow cannot go Come and take me where Where my shadow My shadow cannot go I'll follow you I'll follow you Find me where The ocean turns to glass Find me where The ocean turns to glass You will take me there And we'll leave it all behind Will you take me where? Shadows cannot find Shadows cannot find Find me where Where the ocean turns to glass At the end Where the ocean turns to glass I will take you where Where your shadow Your shadow cannot go Come and take me where Where my shadow My shadow cannot go
This is the kind of album that happens when humble gentlemen put aside 14 years of creative differences for their fans. Unfortunately, that takes a particular kind of person, and most people can't do it, let alone band people with titanic egos. Or drug problems / personal issues. Or extramarital issues. There's maybe a handful of bands that could pull this off. Haste the Day, thankfully, was one of them.
Hey if you dig this band then be sure to check out the new August Burns Red album that's coming out on June 30th! Its going to sound so cool! Both bands are pretty similar and they both have good screaming parts in them!
Haha I absolutely love both bands, but August Burns Red blows them out of the water as far as instrumentation and song writing goes. JB is just a freak of nature when it comes to guitar playing. I hear he didn't even pick up the guitar until after he got out of college.
@@joshuawhitley5819 and they sound overly polished and lacking raw elements to me as a result. ABR is a band so focused with making huge sounding music that they also struggle to retain those elements in a live setting. Versus Haste the Day was always very focused on creating a sound that translated well to a live setting. Aka, ABR is good live, but it's the only time they have any raw energy. That, and their last two albums have been hit and miss, either sounding too similar in parts to previous albums or new elements just not fitting in very well. They peaked at Constellations for most fans and it's tough to disagree. There are multiple songs on each album since that sound like Constellations B-sides.
Its about following Jesus and being forgiven of your past, for God forgets that which he forgives and he forgives those who accept his son's sacrifice. "Shadow", used as a parable for your past.
l love HTD and have been listening to them since BB, but this song is slow and I don't feel the energy from them like I used to feel it from their other albums.
Alejandro Franco Listen to other songs like Begin or Accept on the new album. Those are fast paced. HTD has always slowed it down on a few songs on each album :)
best song on album, hands down
Jimmy Ryan & Stephen Keech growling in the same song?
Wha... WHAT IS THIS GREATNESS?
I know right.... to bad this is gonna be the last album for real...
Justin Neal sadly
The amount of emotion is overwhelming in this song
This song still sends shivers down my spine every time I hear it.

"Shadow"
I will take you where
Where your shadow
Your shadow cannot go
Come and take me where
Where my shadow
My shadow cannot go
I'll follow you
I'll follow you
Find me where
The ocean turns to glass
Find me where
The ocean turns to glass
You will take me there
And we'll leave it all behind
Will you take me where?
Shadows cannot find
Shadows cannot find
Find me where
Where the ocean turns to glass
At the end
Where the ocean turns to glass
I will take you where
Where your shadow
Your shadow cannot go
Come and take me where
Where my shadow
My shadow cannot go
