@@chefspicy3056 One person's opinion. When I seen the artwork and hearing Randy say itll be their angriest album, I knew they were gonna go back to their roots. This song feels about 80 percent Ashes era, 20 newer era. Cant wait to hear the rest.
This song is a driving force with the drop c, and double bass. Always pumped for new LOG!!! I know everyone has an opinion, and I totally respect that. And to be honest, as a drummer, I noticed this band because of Chris Adler. But, that was first listen. I fell in love and stayed because of the whole band as a cohesive unit of music genius. And nobody was more pissed/concerned when he left. But, he’s gone, and Art is a badass, and this is where we are. So, at some point you either quit bitching or move on. I think they kick as much as as ever. I wish Chris the best.
I'm a drummer myself, and I respect Chris Adler's talent a lot, but I feel like Art Cruz has more variety in his playing than Chris did. He used a lot of the same patterns and fills from song to song (which I realize a lot of drummers do, myself included) and the drumming, while technically proficient, sounded kinda stale and repetitive, almost mechanical or robotic. I especially noticed this when a band I was in learned a few Lamb of God songs to dick around with during rehearsals and for warm-ups and such. (For the record, the songs we learned were "Ruin," "Laid to Rest," and "Now You've Got Something to Die For." I was in this band from around 2003 to 2006.) With their newer stuff, I kept thinking the music sounded different somehow, but I was unaware that they had a new drummer. When I finally looked into it and learned that Adler had been replaced by Cruz, it clicked in my head that the difference I was hearing was the drumming. Again, I don't mean to talk shit about Chris Adler - he's a better drummer than I am, and the dude was totally dedicated to his craft. I've rarely seen a drummer that works harder to maintain the level of musicianship that fans have come to expect. And I've always liked how he used a splash cymbal where most other drummers would have played on a crash or China. That's a little something that sets him apart from other metal drummers. It's just that Art Cruz's drumming, while obviously similar to Adler's stylistically, is something I enjoy more. Seems like there's more variety, more little touches here and there, that make it stand out to me.
Art is such a great fit for this band. I had doubts about a new drummer, but he killed it on the last album. Extremely impressed. Please keep making albums!!! Oh, and drummers rule!
@@dclaw5255 I'm really glad I got back into Lamb of God over the last year or so. Randy Blythe was, and continues to be, a major source of inspiration to me. I just passed 10 months without a drink, and he's someone whose own honesty about his journey to sobriety is something to motivate anyone attempting the same thing. I hope I get the chance to see these guys live one day. I live in Montana, and we don't get many non-country acts out this way. And yes sir - drummers are the best!
@Frank Bonazza III Thanks! I'm definitely the kind of person who keeps a tally, but to each their own. For me, choosing to quit drinking wasn't really a difficult choice to make - I was told by my family I could either keep drinking or keep living in the same house as them, but I couldn't do both. For me it was pretty obvious what I had to do. The choice was easy - the follow-through was a bitch, but I've made it this far. Always been super impressed by the guys and gals who are 5 or 10 years sober. There was a point for me (and probably for you, too) where I couldn't see making it 10 days, let alone 10 months or 10 years, but here we are. Thanks again for the encouragement!
Just continue to remind me why this has been my favorite band for 16 years of my 29 years of life. No matter what they never go away from what makes them great. Keep it up and can't wait to jam to this album in October!!!!!
It's strange that you and I have listened to our favorite band for the same years and while being the same age. Wtf dude lol that's strange as fuck. 🤘💀🤘 LoG for life!
Wow, Lamb of God always delivers with their signature sound but yet still feeling fresh. Just saw these guys two weeks ago. What an amazing live performance.
This is one of the best sounding Lamb of God songs I’ve heard. I think the Drop C tuning really does the trick, and Randy sounds a bit different on this track too. Good shit
I shall be listening to this on repeat for my commute to work today and all next week. Every song they come out with is a masterpiece. Got to memorize.
Lamb Of God has never let their Fans down. They always feed us with atleast one Bad ass Official Single each year. Thankyou for the Music . LOG forevermore 🤘. I'll never forget how you guys surprise me with MOMENTO MORI that made my day, i should say a Year because that was released during the Pandemic
Lamb of god has been solid fuckin gold for years. I remember being so down on myself. Rock bottom, no where to turn. I started listening to lamb of god and it was almost like therapy. It’s god damn platinum lmao
Its like Classic Lamb of God with some new elements added into the mix and I really love this! I've been listening to this song on repeat all day yesterday lol I cannot wait for the new album 🤘🇺🇸
I love Lamb of God; it’s just tbh after Chris left. Their writing just never felt the same. Cruz is great in his own aspects. Chris just had a style that really complimented the band. No hate on LOG I’ll still follow them on everything they do.
Ya, it's not quite the same without the other Adler.... but its also not bad! Still prefer Chris's tightness though. Probably the tightest doubles in all of metal... hopefully Cruz has some game on the rest of this album
Honestly, I think Chris was holding them back. Crap studio producings for great music.... the $5 tin can snare he used.... the treble on the music all the way up drowning out deeper melodies. He was a musical genius, don't get me wrong. But now they sound sooooo much better.
Cannot wait for this album. So glad to see them going strong. I’ve seen them live many times and to be honest, I was most impressed by their last performance. The energy was off the charts. They continue to improve. The define what a professional metal band should look like.
I love Lamb of God, I already got my tickets for the upcoming tour. Having said that, at this early stage, I hope this grows on me. I see a lot of love out there for this one, and I don't know if that is early hype or what, but I was personally a bit underwhelmed by this, at least as a single. Still looking forward to what they do this year.
Definitely, just like the majority of their last album, the band still has it's roots planted but the drive seems off, the uniqueness of their songs is now based around the same type of riffs and structures. Songs like Hourglass & Redneck are no longer present in the current Lamb Of God and I really hope they find their interests back into those types of songs. Die hard fan no matter, that'll never change. 🤘
Lamb of god used to make their drums fit the guitars, it doesn’t sound like that's the case anymore. Now the drums set the pace and the guitars fit them. This is why they are sounding more generic these days but they're still distinctly lamb of god, just lamb of god looking for radio play it seems.
Sounds like Lamb of God. I'm not the biggest fan but its nice to hear the evolutions and "improvement" along the way...really great stuff here...🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
The last album didn't click with me and it's in my forgotten bin, but if this is what the new album is going to sound like I can't wait! Now i'm excited!

So glad they’ve been toying around with Drop C!!! Fits them really well.

They been using drop c for a bit, also some at c#
