What a great voice! Let's Kiss and Make-Up / Love Me has got to be one of the greatest singles of the early 60's. Finally got myself a copy. Love Me is such a powerful song, it gives me chills each time I listen to it. Thanks for uploading! Rest in peace, Mr. Garza.
Oh Wow! How Sad... I wonder if D ever realized, how many people were inspired by his song, and fell in love together? A simple, straight to the heart love! That's what makes Doo wop so pure, soulful, and having the attributes of genuine love, an infinite love, in it's simplicity...
@@hotwax9376 I was brought up in the 70's and 80's, and discovered Doo wop, at a very young age, over stacks of dusty and scratched 45's, at my Mother's godson Papo's home. Dion's Runaround Sue, and The Charts Zoop were the first records that inspired me to this music! From there on, I wanted to, and had become a Singer, becoming also, a Keyboardist and Drummer. I have always liked all kinds of music, especially Classic Rock, The Beatles, and R&B Soul. But Hands Down, Doo wop is my Heart and Soul!
@@geralddelgiorno4691 Well, I grew up in the 90s and aughts, and like you I love pretty much all early forms of rock and soul music, including doo wop. I've even thought about starting a doo wop group somewhere down the line. So you're in good company as far as coming after doo wop's peak.
@@hotwax9376 I was in a Doowop group from 2000-2006, first named, Second Time Around, but then, we had a Bass singer, whom was in a group called The Clusters, having a hit record in 1958, Darling Can't You Tell. Changing the name to The Clusters, we had gotten more recognition, more gigs with known popular Doowop groups, Concerts, even doing live radio, and was a very fun time sharing what I loved. Unfortunately later on, I became disenchanted with the internal problems of the group, members leaving, getting the harmonies tight and blending off key became an issue, and the lead singers voice tended to go flat! When I did leads, the leads second tenor voice in the background was always so flat, that I wasn't feeling the sound! We made two Albums, the first was in 2002, recorded in a home studio, on Tape, and was an Accapella project named, Second Time Around, (A Little Bit of Doowop), but newer pressings were under the Clusters. The Second Album was a flop, recorded on Cakewalk Digital software, and needed much tweaking to get it sounding decent. The songs were rushed through, not satisfied with my leads, having to dub my voice on the background tracks, because the lead singer couldn't stay on key? However, I have a professional approach when it comes to feeling and getting it right? I would love to start something myself in that order of Doowop, with an approach to the original sound, as well as a modern contemporary approach, to inspire this music to possibly to a younger generation?

@@geralddelgiorno4691 Agreed. Doo wop has plenty of deep emotion in it, which is one reason why it's so awesome.
