If the SHTF then you won't be stuck in a house that is half worth is buying price. Perhaps renting isn't such a bad idea. And comparing to rent prices here in DK - yours is on the cheap side. If the starting inflation is getting higher (which it will) - then your apartment will be really cheap. If you buy a house - why not buy a fixer upper on a small farm. Still live in the apartment while you are renovating. No debt = freedom. Real freedom. And make a studio near your home, and save the gas.
Can’t wait for a market collapse forever. Yes, buying an old house would work if they didn’t cost millions too. Our apartment is in the suburbs of Gothenburg though so it’s not a central apartment either. We also want to live close to Amanda’s work 👍🏼
@@PeterLindgrenVlogs Yeah, I get you. Prices have gone beserk. And the supply chain is really getting stuck. I can see some of the supermarkets running out of certain things. Perhaps not a bad idea to buy some dipers :) Anyway, we can only do our best. You have invested in crypto, right? ;)

I'm really surprised, that's actually not a very high cost of living but that is going to be relative to what your income is too. I live in North Texas and an apartment for $1175 for a family of 3 would be on the lower end cost wise. Good insight though as I always thought that Sweden was really really expensive to live in.
Fun fact: The last time I walked in the middle of nowhere recording myself, suddenly someone shouted at me saying "I don't want to be on that thing !" He mentioned the camera I guess which I pointed at myself. Welcome to Germany !

Perhaps it varies because of fluctuating exchange rate but I get 100 KR is $9.66 USD so less than a tenth in USD . So 29500 KR is lil less than $2900 USD . What I would find more useful is cost that cup of coffee you had , a regular meal at lunch say a regular burgar and fries and drink , or hotel room etc , Just an idea , Here because I saw a video on counting 1 million KR and curious of what the KR would get me . Also wages vary I'm sure soo what can I afford if I would be a lower paid worker at say a fast food place or Circle k worker ? Are there cheaper place to rent ( there must be ) in Sweden ?
Really love this type of vlogs. You make it so easy. I wish i have the same confident as you, were you film everywhere and not care of what other people thinks. #fan
Let me just say, your 2 bedroom apartment was about the same as my 1 bedroom here in Texas. Mine was 100 sq. meters (it was a big 1 bedroom, but in an AWFUL part of town).
Between 3300 and 4000$ before tax maybe. Depends on the company size and assignment (my last employer hade a internal policy no wages under 3600$, but if the wanted to hire like a support person within IT the went for some cheap outsourced consultant a "Adidas Technician"). Have in mind that Peter commented below that he is living in a quite newly built apartment building and have 2 parking spots. You could get a 2 bedroom apartment for like 500-700$ in the city center .
Just about a month or so ago looked at Mexico City downtown hotel we stayed in 7 years ago and still VERRRY reasonable much lower cost like before ( I think) . Fairly luxurious in smack dab middle downtown for $45..per night. I think breakfast is included very delicious one as I remember 💯..two beds three persons
Seriously enjoying your vlog and your struggle gives us all motivation and hope to keep pushing. BTW in the States what you call appliances we call utilities. Really appreciate your videos.
The cost of living you mentioned is for the whole family or only for yourself. How big is your family? I have planned to live in Sweden with my family but still worry about the cost. Thx
Is it then true , that all these social programs cost the taxpayer a lot ? Heard that yes several European countries they pay more in taxes and things are just much more expensive because of higher wages like those Circle K workers, construction labor, service industry etc..
I love that final comment. I still get too nervous and put the camera away whenever people are around. Hopefully one day I’ll get the courage to do it...
Almost see your tattoo ;) Thanks for another great Vlog that explains how the price level is in Sweden! See it is about the same as in Norway! The only thing is that you have cheaper food than us ;) Wish you a glorious day Peter!
