It was wild that this was your subject for this weeks video. I bought your rainbow bear pattern recently and have made several bears because I love the pattern! However, my granddaughter wanted a panda bear and I could not find a pattern that I liked as well as yours so I modified it. I gave it to her this weekend and she loved it!
These are great tips! I'm working on a prisoner doll (Yes-my son is a Capt of detectives, thus the prisoner) and the legs instructions were really not my style....so in the middle of the night, I thought of a way to attach the leg to the shoe and so far it is working out much better. I'd love to see you do a tutorial on attaching the ears as neatly as you do. Mine always look like the teacher dragged the kid/bear across the room by his ear. LOL!! Be safe on your travels and I look forward to a Frankenstein doll/bear challenge!
Thanks, Arlyce 🌻How interesting to make a prisoner doll. It's good to experiment with what works and what doesn't work, and eventually we get better and better at tweaking and changing. On my pumpkin buddy tutorial, I do have a small section on how I attach ears 😊 And yes, the Frankenstein ami challenge is coming soon!
Thanks for coming up with all those helpful tips! Even though I'm quite a seasoned crocheter some things have never crossed my mind. Even though more often than not anytime during making a toy I'll say "Oh no, I think I'll do that differently...." And now I have to catch up with all your latest videos!
All great tips! ♥️ The best part of making toys is creating them as your own. I love the muzzle on the little bear. The face is so sweet.🐻 thank you for sharing! 🤟🏻
I am brand new at crochet. I can't do it for long times, but I do a few rounds and rest, and come back later. I really want to make as many animals that I can!!! Thanks for the tips. And I love the embroidery eyes too!
Really enjoyed this video! I agree we are in control of how our crochet turns out! I have that book too, but mine is an older version. I think they reprinted it. I would love to see a vlog about where you used to live, that would be awesome! 🤗❤
Thanks, Julie 🌼I know I always love seeing how other crocheters change patterns, and I will probably always add or change something in a pattern 😊 I'm very bad with vlogs, but I hope to take a few clips while being back in South Africa.
Cassandra I just love your videos. While watching your channel I gain confidence and lots of ideas. Some day soon I’ll make my first doll or animal. Have a wonderful week! ♥️🤗🧶
I am glad I found your channel! I really like your ideas and thoughts, and love your bears! Your latest bear with the long ,narrow snout. is more like what real bears have, and like ìthe classic, antique bears, which I love.I am a new subscriber from the U.S.
My goodness, I've been doing the mix & match crochet style for years. I'm quirky. I just do things to suit my needs. I do the same with everything: cooking, sewing, cutting hair, drawing, painting canvases, making flower arrangements... just everything. hehehe I call it "my twist". Spice of life! 😉 I like your challenge. Have a safe trip! 🙏 Stay well.
Thanks Casandra for those helpful tips. I am looking for a doll pattern to make at the moment, I haven't made a doll before and find them intimidating. I know I have many doll patterns in my stash, I just need to look through and find one that doesn't look to difficult. Reminding us that amigurumi is just single crochet, increases and decreases does help to take away some of the fear and doubt of my ability to make the doll. Thank you so much. Have a safe trip, take care xx
I would love to see some of South Africa! - I always feel a bit like Frankenstein when crocheting amigurumi, especially when sewing the pieces together😄Thank you so much for the advice and examples and I'd like to put this to the test if you do a challenge 👍🙂
Haha! Me too! I feel like poor dolls getting all poked at from different sides! I made a doll for a friend, and she was afraid to touch it, so to not break it... And I was like, if you knew what that doll went through 😂😂!
Absolutely adorable, I have always worked that way, for the life of me, I can't stick with a pattern anyway, LoL... I have to make it my own! Happy and safe travels!
I love hearing you say this. I hate following patterns because I hate looking back and forth but I feel like I “should “. I just like making stuff up. Your creations are so beautiful 😊😊😊
Patterns are great and I will keep collecting them, but I am not tying myself to them. We are all way too creative to not go wild and add our own touch to them 🌟
Hi Cassandra! I love your bear. He is 100% better looking than the one in the book. You did a great job with adapting to make it yours. Those pants, so cute! You can definitely make a doll. I've made 3 dolls and sold two of them. You can do it!! Have a great time in South Africa. It's always great to go home. I will look forward to your photos. Take care, and be safe. xo
Great tips and thank you for sharing! I’ve only recently started mixing and matching a little bit more and I’m loving it! Your new bear is super adorable ❤ Enjoy your time in South Africa 😊
Yes, I do enjoy hanging out with you! Great tips. I prefer the least amount of sewing, attaching parts is not my thing. Have a wonderful trip. Looking forward to your next video❤😊
I did this with the the crochet woodland creatures book. I loved the animals but the faces looked a bit rough for me. So I changed the shapes and style of the features either making it up or using bits from other patterns. I love the ones I made.

I love your bear! I often make changes and use tips and tricks I've learned from making other patterns. I think sometimes we forget it's our creation and we can make it however we want.
Absolutely love this video, such good tips. Love them all. I love to make ami's my own as well. Another tip i think that helps with faces is shaping. I learned this first from old soul crochets free bunny pattern and i was so in love i do it to almost all my plushy makes. I love your bear. Those overalls are everything. You are absolutely right about clothes. It can really elevate your makes for sure. I want to learn how to make the body and head all in one piece. I could probably figure it out but i don't trust myself too. I'm excited to put embroidered eyes on the pairs of bears patterns. I think it will add such personality to them. That's one of my intentions this year is to be brave and try a vintage pattern😉🥰. Thank you for the video my friend you are an amazing teacher❤
Hello Season! When am I seeing another video from you, my friend 😉 I am sure you can figure out how to crochet a head and body of most patterns in one piece. Now you've reminded me of the pairs of bears again...I've got make some again!

You can make what you want with the patterns that you already have!
