Howdy, I don't think I ever heard about the difference between yarn over and under (I see I'm not alone). Wow your creations are beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
I just started using 100% cotton yarns and I LOVE how they look and feel after being knit/crocheted. They are a bit tougher to work with, but it’s worth it for me. Using a smaller hook also makes it harder but the right stitches look great to me for amigurumi!
So I am very new to amigurumi. I bought your Repunzel pattern today . I’m making the arms and found it hard to hold on to it so I stuck an unsharpened pencil into the arm and continued to crochet. It helped a lot.
Something interesting about acrylic yarns is that they're made of synthetic - or man-made - materials, so they have a lot of pros and cons. The pros being that is pretty stretchy and durable, so it's great for items that are going to be touched a lot - dolls, clothes, accessories, and blankets. I've found that for my sweaters, it seems to get softer the more I wash it, though it does make those little fiber pills that i need to "shave" off occasionally. The cons here are few, in my opinion; Because it's a plastic-based synthetic, it doesn't handle heat well, so using acrylic for things like coasters or tea towels is a very bad idea! You also have to be careful about washing it, as putting in hot wash or dry setting can make it really rough and scratchy. It also tends to get snagged and wrap around things when in the washing machine, so make sure to put your yarn goods in mesh bags beforehand, or wash them separately.
Thank you so much for these tips! I was wondering how everyone’s amigurumis were made because their stitches looked different from mine and no matter what hook/ tension I used I couldn’t get the X stitch for the neater look. I would’ve never figured it out on my own. Turns out I needed to do yarn under! So informative thank you SO SO much!!
Yarn under has lots of cool uses but be careful! If you get used to it, it's really hard to switch back and forth. I accidentally started doing yarn under and it took a while to get used to yarn over again for non-amigurumi projects.
Thanks for the tips. I didn't realize there was a difference between yarn over and yarn under. I'm glad you showed the difference between them. I'm going to try the tips. And again thank you for sharing 🐱😊
Adorable! Quick Question Can you make a tutorial on how to make the base body? it would really help me! I recently have started making Amigurumis and the tips will help me a lot! Tysm
For the tighting tip you had for me I have always just pulled my stitches down with my fingers and so it take me a long time to make them but not doing that feels weird for me so yeah I do that
Hey , these are all really cute! I bought the pattern for kiyomi and cho and it was so good! I'm just wondering if your could make a pattern/tutorial for cinammoroll and kuromi
Yes, glue is good! A little dab of fabric glue under the eye before placing is enough to secure them in place. It's helpful to use something (I use a pointed nail file for example) to poke between the stitches where the eyes will be, and wiggle it around to make the hole wider for the eyes
I find it interesting about people not knowing yarn under. Then Again i did it automatically. I first started crocheting for the heck of it years again and learn it that way. And when I looked into it for amigurumi, I was taught yarn over was the way to go. But I find it more stubborn so I gonna go back to yarn under
Thank you for creating these beautiful dolls and for all the tricks and techniques that you teach us. I love a lot your channel and I hope you to continue with it. The best wishes for you 💕🌼
Thank you. For sharing.. You are Alice of wonderland.... Your toys are awesome.... I like ❤. I also tried making them. It's comes out very wonderful✨😍... Now I am a big fan of amigurumi toys
You mentioned the type of yarn and the tension, but what weight of yarn do you use? I ask because it looks like the yarn you are using may be thinner than the average DK acrylic yarn. (Double Knit yarn has a big 4 on the label, thinner and fingering yarns have 3, 2, or 1) Since thinner yarn makes a tighter tension easier and it makes a smaller (and cuter!) amigurumi, I'd really like to know. Thanks!
I’ve been crocheting for most of my life - my grandmother taught me at a very young age - and I don’t recall learning how to yarn under single crochet stitches 😳 I’m definitely going to try out this technique for my next amigurumi, tysm for sharing your super helpful tips!!
what about bigger teddys ect that dosent always work to look that good.and what size darning needle do u use i have some big ones with big holes and one smaller harder to get the cotton ect in and small
i do the yarn under for the invisible decrease but i always wonder how much to stuff and the smaller i get closer to the closing bit and stuff it there i can see the stiches stretching's and see some fluff. Ell i can as im picky with my work
I have always loved amigurumi... this is really helpful! I think I will enjoy making them using your tips! Thank You! I Subscribed! Now going to watch other videos of yours!
Hi can you send me the link where I can purchase the pattern for amaguri cinnamoroll bunny? I love the one in your video but I did not see it on your esty
Wow. Yarn under. I had no idea there even was a technique called this and would have never figured out the result would be different lol
How much fun that was!
Thank you for all the great information 😀👍
Take care 🙂

I had always wondered why I couldn't see the v stitches in some amigurumis. Thanks to you now I know that it's done by doing the yarn under technique.
Something interesting about acrylic yarns is that they're made of synthetic - or man-made - materials, so they have a lot of pros and cons.

This was super helpful, thank you!
I’d love an in-depth video on how you join body parts together 💜
Yes. PLEASE!!
Same. That’s my downfall. The body look terrible when attached. I also like the eyes. Is that regular felt and what glue are you using?
Thank you!! I always wondered how they got that extra poofy look. Now I know it’s by using the yarn under technique!😊😊
Also by going through only the front loop
Thank you so much for these tips! I'm somewhat new to crochet/amigurumi (I started back in August), and this video was super helpful. I've got to try the yarn under trick!! ^^
Yarn under has lots of cool uses but be careful! If you get used to it, it's really hard to switch back and forth. I accidentally started doing yarn under and it took a while to get used to yarn over again for non-amigurumi projects.
@@dlh975 oh good call, thanks for the tip!
Wait, if you start in August then you're new??? I started in march!!
Thanks for the tips. I didn't realize there was a difference between yarn over and yarn under. I'm glad you showed the difference between them. I'm going to try the tips. And again thank you for sharing 🐱😊
I also discovered yarn under technique on my own. It's different from yarn over and I find it neat on amigurumi. 😊
Yarn under stitch is better looking. I will do this from now. Have made lots and lots of amigurumi with yarn over st. Thank you mam.👍
V and x is my new knowledge! Brilliant!!!
Discovered yarn under technique yesterday and made a second doll to compare. Its so clean looking. Excellent tips, susbscribed! Thanks for sharing.
Very helpful video. I was wondering, if that by only gluing the eyes on, won’t they be more prone to coming off easily at a later date?
I learned somethings new today. Thank you! These tips have made a huge difference in my amigurumi dolls.
Adorable! Quick Question Can you make a tutorial on how to make the base body? it would really help me! I recently have started making Amigurumis and the tips will help me a lot! Tysm

Hey , these are all really cute! I bought the pattern for kiyomi and cho and it was so good! I'm just wondering if your could make a pattern/tutorial for cinammoroll and kuromi
Hi there! Thanks for this great video! I do have a question. If you place the face last, how do you make the safety eyes stay in place? Glue?
Yes, glue is good! A little dab of fabric glue under the eye before placing is enough to secure them in place. It's helpful to use something (I use a pointed nail file for example) to poke between the stitches where the eyes will be, and wiggle it around to make the hole wider for the eyes
Nikki Overcash yeah I only put a little piece of glue on the eye’s stem
Your work is phenomenal, the best I have yet so see. Thank you for the tips.
