19:27 Final Thoughts
What about the hostels and seedy motels of Deer Valley? This is a bit out of my price range.
I'll make sure there's plenty of those for my snowboard exclusive resort I have plans for.
They don’t have.
For $2400 less you can stay at the Holiday Inn Express you’ll have to bring your own apple. You can probably get some people to step on your back for free if you just lay on the sidewalk in Park City.
I poached the hot tub at the St. Regis and it was so easy, you just gotta walk in there like you own the place.
complimentary apples?! now THAT is luxury
Thanks for making a video on why i should never go to deer valley lol. can’t even imagine the attitudes of the guests…
Please make this exact same video but with even more sarcasm please 😂
At those prices, I expect everything to be complimentary, not just the apples.
This video is hilarious! Love the rankings that I will never need to know 🤣
I remember hearing my mom went to the St. Regis for the spa, it's one of her favorites by far
This content just keeps getting better! Also maybe you should try deer valley vs park city. Might be fun since there so close!
We only have an appetite to produce so much content that excludes snowboarders 🙂
@@PeakRankingsas a snowboarder turned skier theyll be fine 😂
I just found your channel and I have greatly enjoyed all the content. Keep up the good work!
Welcome aboard!
Excellent Presentation! Deer Valley should pay you for the exceptional work!
As someone that lives 10 mins from DV, this doesn’t surprise me
Back in 2006 when I first went to Utah for a two-day work trip staying in SLC and staying 4 extra days to ski. Hotel was $75/night. Took $2 city bus to both alta and snowbird. There was also direct shuttle to deer valley ($90 for lift ticket and shuttle roundtrip.). They gave out free hot cocoa right after i got off the shuttle. The best was the $20 shuttle to snowbasin (which i finally went back last year) - my favorite of that trip ! All the lift tickets cost around $45-50 per day! Those were the days!
Another recommendation you might like is to rank the top ten base villages at ski resorts or something along those lines!!😀
Thanks for the look inside Stein's. I ski Deer Valley every year but have never been inside it. Sorry to nitpick, but the St. Regis has a 4-star rating from Forbes Travel Guide, not a 5-star. Stein's has been a 5-star for several years now, I believe, and Montage earned their fifth star for the first time in 2022.
ewwwww lol
How does a hotel with its own funicular not have a 5th star?
Didn’t know your humor had this much range 😂
12:25 wipeouttttt
Did Deer Valley and was pretty disappointed. The slopes were fine, they do a great job of grooming, but the amenities, service, and food quality were average (Park City before the pandemic was just as good). Had breakfast in the lodge and was served the worst cappuccino in my life and a muffin that was raw inside; when I complained, all i got was a shrug (!).
You want true luxury and attentive service with a smile? Do Sun Valley!!!! It is immaculate and the staff can't do enough for you. And the quality of the food is first rate. Plus the slopes are MUCH better (consistent pitch) and the grooming is just as good.
This is super fun to see! I always see these hotels slope side and wonder what the tip top looks like 😅
Great review! I would recommend you to review all inclusive Club Med resort in Quebec. It's much more affordable with meals, lift tickets, and group lessons included in the price. That especially handy for families who want to teach their kids, or partners/friends to skiing/snowboarding. In December you can book a week for around 300 per person per night. I think they're going to open a new all inclusive resort in Utah next year
Especially handy for parents who want to teach their kids to ski but would rather ski with their friends and hire someone else to teach them.
The top rate is twice my net worth 💀
Great video. Sadly out of my price range but great to see.
I pass the Montage all the time in the summer while mountain biking up there. I remember when it was built, such a wild project. Confident I'll never stay there....
11:00 There are way to few funiculars nowadays. I wish resorts would build big & fast ones.
They can go up in any weather and you can have electricity and water pipes underneath them to a mountain top lodge.
2:50 is too real. I met an old friend for mtb and he was staying at the Stein eriksen. I thought they were gonna charge me $1000 for bringing my dirty bike near their lobby 😂
LOL I've had season passes at DV for decades but have only used the toilets in any of these places... Thanks for pulling back the curtain! Shame on the Montage for not letting you into their bowling alley...
Stay at stein eriksssen in the summer and use the mtb trails It’s very nice
You missed the Goldner Hirsch across from Stein's in the village. It's super posh owned by a billionaire family, restaurant menu has no prices because if you can afford to stay there you are not concerned about money.
Not correct. They do have prices.
@@ryanrudnik1251 The last time I was in there was 9 years ago, they did not at that time. Nice place food was very good.
Oh I get an apple, now we’re talking.
That alone is worth the $2500+/night
You had me at “apples”
Holly shit! Complimentary apples?!!!
We just gonna ignore the skiing beer bottle at 6:35?
Stein Erikson does not look like a 5 start hotel. for 3k a night that is absurd.
LMAO..most expensive apple in history.
Some of the people who stay at these hotels actually can ski
I don't think the people who stay here come to ski. They come to see and be seen! Not really the demographic of subscribers here.
Basically, you go to these hotels if you aren’t there to ski.
Pay enough for a car nightly, but still charged for dimner😂
these hotels, like Deer Valley's terrain, are pretty devoid of personality. If I felt comfortable spending that kind of money I'd vastly prefer a luxury Airbnb in Aspen or Big Sky.
Clearly You've not seen Banff in N.A.
"DEAR VALLEY" $$$$$
I did the highend side of travel last year. Honestly it's totally overpriced and overated! If your paying this kinda cash you should not be dealing with big crowds. That was my biggest issue. I stayed at St Regis and for what i was paying i expected more a boutique experience. Just too overcrowded for the price.
Face Reveal at 3:40
man deer valley is trying to make skiing a luxury sport while I just want the terrain
canned water bottles.. huh
nah if I would stay there I would be in the hotel the whole day
It may seem expensive but when you consider that most guests don’t pay their fair share in taxes….
Most people probably think (or say) that a bunch of rich snobs stay here, but honestly I've met the most genuine, sincere, hard working, considerate, well mannered, family oriented people at these kind of places ❤
* just a side note (If you're meeting people who are rude and inconsiderate, those are the liberal socialists lol who have terrible values and morals who don't belong in these kind of places in the first place 🤷🏻♀️) 😂
All over rated because the mountain is meh.
The ski industry is dumb
Imagine a resort only for skiers 🤢🤢 and a bunch a rich snobs yeah I am good off that
Eat the rich.
jealous much?
@@grant2707 Jealousy has nothing to do with it. Maybe things are slightly out of whack? Maybe?
@@grant2707egh disliking people actively trying to ruin a sport isn’t jealousy it’s common sense
@@reddottx Eh.. just comes from a disingenuous place. Actively hating a group of people for being successful and spending money to enjoy a vacation is a weird side to pick.
I wish I had that money, but I don't. Why does that make them any worse as a person? Silly argument
@@OutsideWithGabe Grouping them all in together when a lot of wealthy people are actively trying to improve the sport and its environment is a bad take.
I think it comes from a bad place. We should be honest with ourselves about this.
