I rarely comment but I felt compelled to tell you “Girl, do you.” I love your content and your unboxings! I hate negative comments couched in advice. You are a grown woman who work hard. You are entitled to do what ever you choose to do! Besides, I enjoy looking at your bags as much as you do and those people who purchased your bags were blessed to get such well cared for bags at a discount. ❤

Never dismiss genuine concern from people who mean well as negative comments.
That being said: always 'do you' hand in hand with a healthy dose of self-reflection.
I believe my comment for that video read: If you are not wearing certain things, let them go and keep the lesson.
The lesson being whatever lesson she wants to keep. We all have (had) items in our closets with the tag still on. Personally I keep the lesson each time, yet new accidents keep occurring. The encouraging thing being they become less frequent 😅.

@@ameliarosescloset Yes this is what I mean by 'be kind to yourself' because punishing only leads to a bigger blowout, like denial of self, of gratification in a diet leads to a binge. The cycle of deprivation, binge, self castigation, and then repeating... this has to be broken, and the way out is compassion and kindness not harshness.
A lot of the time we're trying to fill an inner emptiness, and we each need to look inside to see what that is, and deal with loss, and unresolved emotions so we can become healthier and more self aware , not just to have moments of insight and self awareness, but at all times. It's very difficult to do this without support so whatever your chosen way is try to reach out and be aware that others might trivialise your issues, for the sake of their own comfort.
Getting support: It's a valuable step to take.
There's a lot of love in the room.

Mate, if you feel out of control and need a minute to re-centre, I absolutely support you in that. But if this is someone forcing their opinion and making you feel ashamed, I don’t support that.
We live in a world where everyone has an opinion and is happy to provide it without thought of how it will be received. The frenzy comes from all the spinning plates we have. We are essentially a circus act spinning plates and trying desperately not to let any drop.
If you have too many plates and shopping is one you can let go for a while, take it down. But if you’ve got all your plates spinning nicely, then don’t let anyone make you feel like you should take it down.
Your kids are alive and well, your business is doing well, and you get up and dressed every morning. That is amazing. Anything above that is success!

I love travel, and I too used to focus on buying something to remember from the trip. Now, I bring home matchbooks and the electronic keys from the hotel rooms. I label each with the dates of the trips so they sync up with the photos in my library. I have a big decorative bowl in my dining room, and the kids and now the grandkids love pulling out a matchbook and asking about the trip. Upside -- no regrets and no customs duties.

Im so happy to have watched this. I had actually stopped watching yours and other channels. Yes i love my Chanel etc however when i had all the colours and styles /sizes i wanted i stopped. It was making me feel a tad sick watching several luxe channels and the total overabundance didnt make me jelly it made me so happy that i wasn’t like that. Yea ive bought a few i dont wear and yea ive sold a couple but i have a lovely collection ( as do you and all the others) without aimlessly looking for the next. One channel in particular actually made me want to sell all of mine and be done with it due to the amount of boxes WEEKLY. I was like OMG i love my bags but i dont want to be thought of this way. Possibly that was a blessing as i stopped and sat and looked at my display and thought it is actually complete. I maybe have one too many blacks of the same size which i will address. I love to shop. I love to buy. We are blessed to be able too however i totally agree that we should still LOVE AND ADORE every purchase. I can certainly relate to everything you said. Great video as always. I carry my NF to work everyday, that leaves the weekends to carry all my other designer bags. Some bags don’t get used much because I feel like they are seasonal so I only carry them in the summer months or winter months. But I’m still shopping. That makes no since what so ever so I have decided to shop my closet. I haven’t bought any bags in awhile even though I love the new Dior bags. After you unbox your new bags maybe you should do some styling videos with all your bags. I would love to watch them.

You are such a refreshingly honest presence, especially in this luxury space here on the TH-cams! I think anyone who buys luxury has experienced buyers remorse and made an expensive mistake, for whatever the reason. Good on you for selling the bag and moving on from your mistake. A hard decision but a wise one when you’ve gone through a period of overspending. I would love to hear more about how you navigate not buying after a buying spree. Shopping for me is very addictive and I’m going through a similar period of trying to take a pause and enjoy what I have. I’m finding it extremely difficult at times. Often I substitute online browsing for handbags with other habits that spur consumption, like browsing Pinterest and then wanting new clothes. Or I buy new hand towels or something random and unnecessary. Please pass on anything you do learn that helps you to stop the shopping bug. I am similar to you and I am sometimes overcome by my cravings for things. I would love videos about how you navigate those impulses. And also how you style your bags! It’s rare to see an influencer embrace color the way you do - so much content is very minimalist and austere. While you’re on your no buy it would be so fun to see how you pull together outfits and get use out of what you do own. Thank you for sharing your passion and wisdom and for your authenticity. And good luck with the no spend! It can be tough but also so enlightening when we pause.

Hi Amelia! Really enjoyed this video and your honestly! But I have to give you some grace. At the end of the day you know what you can afford and have free will to spend your money how you wish. If a video makes a person feel "uncomfortable" then they can click off. Nobody is forcing someone to watch something that makes them feel uncomfortable. At the end of the day I support whatever choice you make but I don't feel like it someone's place to tell you what to do and what to purchase.

And all respect to the person making the comment but no one have the right to shaming you on your spending habits. It's your money. You worked hard for it and you should be able to enjoy the excitement of the purchase. If you change your mind later that is completely fine. You deserve to feel the excitement even if it's just for a short moment. You deserve your joy without the shame.
You share your journey with us on you tube. You don't have to justify that to anyone.

I too have been caught up in the ‘frenzy’ and found myself with bags I do not use. The fact that you sell them shows us that you have some introspective. I have stopped shopping for the same reason.. however the FENDI. was just a bit of an impulse buy . We have ALL done that. You will enjoy switching up your bags(I k ow I have) .. many blessings and liking forward to just ‘chatting’ 😊

First of all, I’d like to commend and appreciate you for being able to process that comment without getting defensive. It’s incredibly hard to have multiple people point out a behaviour that most of the time, we are aware of subconsciously. I am someone who thinks we should be free to spend our money now we wish, but also, acknowledge when our spending becomes addictive. I have the same issue with impulse shopping and spending. It’s not recognised like a food, alcohol or drug addiction, but I think a lot of fashion and beauty influencers have a compulsive shopping addiction to fill either an emotional void or to fuel their social media success. Going cold Turkey will be difficult, but limiting your consumption is the first step! Giving you all the love and support ❤

I very much respect this post and wish you success. I have found that sometimes shifting my focus to one thing else and then coming back and looking at my collection makes me reappreciate my bags. On London- the exchange rates are total crap- don’t buy in London! That being said, a trip 😢o Bicester village is a great day to enjoy luxury shopping of all sorts with one great deals. I recently visited Europe for two weeks with my mom, kids and each kid brought a friend. We spend a day at Bicester while in london and found some lovely things- all of which were on a pre-thought out shopping list. I was only looking for one bag- a Jimmy choo raffia tote- and did not find it, so I didn’t buy any bags there.

If this is a decision you have to come to of your own accord then this is entirely your prerogative but it's your hard earned money and you should be able to spend it however you feel fit. It really is none of anyone else's business. I can't understand why people watch a channel about luxury handbags and then feel the need to shame you. I personally love watching your videos and admiring your stunning bag collection. You have bought me a lot of joy. So you made a mistake with one bag and sold it on- big deal. Even if you made a loss selling it on, it probably balances out with gains made on other bags in your collection. I really don't see what the problem is... As long as you aren't hurting anyone else do what makes you happy 😃

I love this vlog, because you are addressing what a lot of people fall into ... and a lot of it has to do with "retail therapy." Sometimes it's the impulse to buy something new, buy something that will be used for an upcoming event, etc, and we just haven't found the right things yet. We think we have, but in total, we haven't found the means to the end. I say, if you have the money, and can afford it, mistakes can happen, and impulse buys can happen. Look at the supermarkets, and how they add items near a cash register. If you have limited funds, think purchases over prior to purchasing to avoid feeling ill post purchases. And if it just wasn't right, return it prior to using if you can. I think what you do works for you and your budget? No need to feel bad, and I agree with other users, selling items post the return date isn't necessarily a bad idea. Sell it while you can get the most money return as possible. I say, enjoy your life, and purchase what you can afford. If you can afford the items you purchased, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You've earned the right.

It brings me such joy! I thought the Fendi fit in well in your collection but the thing is that with so many brands putting out products every season, there are many things that will go well in our collections. It’s good to have a reset and examine what you really love and must own. It sounds like your vlog sale was a rather stinging experience but maybe it’s a useful reflection for all of us. Agree with others that I would enjoy styling vlogs for each bag in your collection. Might help people who find colourful bags hard to style!

I applaud your willingness to consider constructive criticism. It shows wisdom and security within oneself. I too have been in a shopping frenzy with all the various semi-annual sales. I enjoy luxury content and own only a handful of luxury bags, but my personal favorite handbags to collect are Coach bags. I love hunting for the most htf ones. People can check my history on Dayle's addiction, as I have supported Dayle when she was being attacked for buying luxury, because those posters could't afford the bags. This is ridiculous I told her to carry on and ignore them!
It has been very High school and even mean girls in here ..and I'm like: I can't believe this...LOL! But typical me, I over explained when it's best to just not feed the trolls. I'm sure they are convinced they're doing the right thing. But it's immature they just don't read carefully nor listen. Never mind!
I'm always conflicted about luxury, I love it but there are downsides too. Personally I keep tight reign on my spending because I'm invested in the stock market and when I think of making a big purchase I'm thinking of the opportunity cost.

As you see in comments below others are realizing through you that they too need to reflect and perhaps slow down (hit the brakes as you say) before that next purchase. It's just so easy and mindless to whip out a card or swipe you phone in front of the point of sale, "bing" and you purchase this new object. I think the designer stores also create the hype of "buy it now, you might not find it again" or "we're having a price increase in X days!". I have never figured this out. Status is character of your being not baubles that some fashion designer says makes you the person in "Style" while they are laughing all the way to the bank. When it is all said and done and you are headed for the crematory or graveyard who is going to care or remember you by saying she carried a Chanel Handbag and I remember it so well. This is such a good video. I am so happy you have unpacked this topic. I believe a number of u tubers have a shopping addiction and this is unhealthy. We need to cherish what we already own rather than focusing on the next purchase. There is one Australian utiber that I have stopped watching as the amount of consumption does not seem normal at all to me and feels like a pretty serious addiction. Sometimes beautiful clothes can give the same joy as a luxury handbag at a fraction of the price. When I added the value of my collection a few years ago I started to also feel uncomfortable.
