Amelia I agree with you on the Fendi baguette that strap is a NO!!! They definitely could've done better. I wanted a pc of the blk denim LV, but changed my mind. LUV the SHW
Thanks for your honesty!!!! Some of these issues have deterred me from purchasing bags…we pay way too much to find there’s something that keeps me from using our precious bags!!!😊
I'm so sorry, but u are taking shoulder bags and trying to make them into crossbody bags . The Dior saddle bag was only meant to be carried on the shoulder. It looks absurd crossbody. The Chanel classic flaps in this size also look their best on the shoulder. And omg ur beautiful denim flap is a vibe worn under the arm on the shoulder. The only reason all these colors on ur Fendi baguette make sense is because of the background color and the strap just adds to the design element . Putting an orange strap on it makes it so uninteresting . The most exciting thing about the Gabrielle is that u can have the straps laying across from one side and on the shoulder from the other side . Again it's not designed to be worn the way ur wearing it. Pls take my comments positively . I like ur Channel and I watch ur videos . Today, however , I couldn't agree to the points u made. I only felt that u want to make all ur bags into crossbody bags .
Oh absolutely i take it positively, i have no difficulty at all with people disagreeing with me, it’s what keeps fashion fun, and it’s very true, a lot of things that frustrate me is because i want to wear bags in ways they weren’t designed for, i’m sure i broke some purist Chanel hearts when i got the classic flap strap extended! X
@@SLima-df7wj well, this is a very good example of a fashion house succumbing to make the bag more appealing. People are looking for a bag that can do everything . The LV toiletries pouch has been transformed into a bag with a hefty price tag . I bought a beautiful tribal strap from Dior to go with my saddle bag , but I never meant to wear it crossbody. I just wear it on my shoulder with the strap hanging down .
Have you considered wearing the Saddle bag the way it was originally intended which is on the shoulder? The strap drop is longer on it than the strap length on the Baguette bag. I wear my Saddle bag comfortably on my shoulder and the bag does not touch my underarms. Good video!
Very informative. Weight is always a criterea for me. I have also seen lots of bags with cheap looking straps when the bags were actually expensive. The Capucines middle part is so annoying.
So much great info in this video. You and I have quite a lot of overlap in our collections and 99% of the comments you made I totally agree with. The one query I have is about epi leather. I’ve had a few epi leather bags and sold them quite quickly. This is because I’ve found the epi leather scratches and wears off so easily. Not long scratches but just tiny marks that remove the colour and show small white spots of wear. It frustrated me so much that I literally wore my rainbow twist once before I sold it. I remember standing in the checkout at the supermarket looking at the bag and thinking that’s it, I’m selling this delicate ridiculous bag.
I realized over the past year that I need all daily bags to have a top handle bag because I prefer to carry bags as a briefcase to/from my car or office. The only exception is like clutches/evening bags and totes. I gifted my mom a lot of bags last yr!
First I would like to say I am new to your channel. I came across it last night on the chanel increase topic and now Im hooked. So I send you greeting all the way from Miami Florida. And I would like to say your handbag collection is fabulous and how they are displayed. Very classy and elegant. Have a great day and thank you for your content.
On the denim bag, use two connectors. Instead of connecting the left side to the right size, connect the right to the right and the left to the left and let the extra chain hang inside the bag. If you need pictures let me know.
Yes I was going to comment the same thing, create two loops of extra chain on each side not join in the middle! Also you can use a magnet to get the earring back out of petite malle!
I recently bought a Fendi Baguette in grey chenille in Milan this winter and it came with two straps - a thicker shorter and a thinner longer one - both are in leather. I almost did not purchase it because the longer strap was not as long as I would have wanted for a cross body (I'm 5'4"), until the I was shown how attaching the two straps together created a comfortable cross body bag. I wear the thinner strap in front with the thicker strap in back and it has worked perfectly for me. The positive thing about your versatile colourful Fendi bag is that you can add any colour strap. Yes, it's a pain to not have a nice one with the bag, but it is such an uncommon and cute Baguette that adlibbing for a strap might be worth the trouble.
The 19s, for me shorter strap. I appreciated shorter people calling out that it would be longer. Still got 5 lol. I love it so much. The capucines mini. Im so thankful you called out getting in and out being a pain and the middle barrier. I still got it, way before the crazy price increase. But im glad I knew before hand. Thank you for this video. I find these extremely helpful since I can determine if im willing to deal with its problems or not.
Knowledgeable video for us to decide b4 getting any of the above bags. I experience the same with my channel woc chain too long. Even the coin purse Louis Vuitton there is a gap at the below and my coins always get stuck there. It’s annoying. Perhaps have to use it only for keeping earphones.
Thanks Amelia Rose - really helps to hear a real persons real world use of these bags. Maybe what annoys you might not annoy others but I am sure everyone has some little small things that would drive them mad. No not always enough for you to sell but certainly sometimes they do
If the denim on the large flap doesn't work with the tie on the chain... maybe try knotting the chain? On top? Like knotted on itself. You might not like the look but it's an option in a situation you need your hands
Hi - it is possible to wear the saddle bag without the strap sticking up. If you hook your strap at the highest point on the CD (not in the middle between the c and the d) then you can flatten the short strap to run across the top of the bag. Works every time. I tried on the new green saddle in Dior harrods last week (LOVE it!) and the SA was amazed when I showed him how to wear it without the short strap being in the way!!! I can send pic if you want 😊
Amelia, could a magnet 🧲 be a solution to try to push the back of the hearing to the edge of the bag and then try to push it out. Just an idea🤔.Maybe I’m imagining the situation diferente than it really is. It would really annoy me too 😂.
I LOL at the part where you said by the end of the video all these bags are going to revolt and gang up against you haha! 😂 Thank you for this video, it’s so helpful to know the annoying aspects of bags before committing to them. 👍🏼 Btw your Gabrielle and Saddle bags are stunning! Maybe I’m now discovering how I love the color burgundy for bags! I’m still considering getting a Gabrielle after all these years, that’s how I think I really like the design. No longer a hype bag, but I still love the look of it.
Hi Amelia ! One of my friends who has a Kelly , calls it a mean Diva ( 🤐) because its 2 straps - lock / key hardware system to close/ open it is kind of annoying .
Crossbody strap length is a perpetual bugbear of mine... And non-adjustable straps... And non-removable straps... oh dear you've got me started! Apparently, I'm all about the straps! 🤣
Going forward as anything new collections or all in general? And also wtf! I dont get the whole cant be repaired/touched up. Do they want us to just buy new ones each time or not wear them.
Locking and unlocking an Hermes Kelly bag is not only annoying as mentioned in an earlier comment, but the strap is too short to use cross-body. One has to spend over $1,000 for another strap!
I guess not one bag fits all. It depends on how we prefer to wear the bags. I sold my Chanel 19 bc i find the strap way too long 😄 I prefer wearing the Chanel Medium and Saddle as shoulder bag! I am even considering selling the strap the saddle comes with haha.. I wish they make the strap on fendi baguette longer for the top handle! Again, I don't need the longer one xoxoxo
I completely understand you, but….I honestly do not think these are issues with the design of all these bags, but they way you like to wear them😉. These bags are design to be worn a certain way, so when you try using them differently, you will encounter that you can’t 😅. I KNOW THIS, because I am like you and love the option of crossbodying my bags (perfect example my small CFs). I am petite so yes I could probably crossbody them all 😂😂😂 but they probably don’t look the best as they are not designed for that. 😊
The fendi baguette is pretty but they just gave up with inside and the strap for sure. I been wanting the lv loop bag so it's good to know that issue I want the orginal monogram. I'm not surprised about the channel straps. I wouldn't buy that pink bag if it had short straps The Gabrielle has alot of chains. Your collect is gorgeous. I have a denim puffy flap bag ysl inspired and it does bunch up if I put to much inside. Your denim flap in that color is worth it. Sorry it's too long. Maybe to can top knot it?
Oh I am with you with the chain or strap length on bags!! why oh why can't the fashion houses give us the option to have the perfect chain length for us? The jumbo classic flap is crazy long strap and then the medium/large is too short! The saddle bag guitar strap that you had to buy separately is too short and non adjustable (I know they now offer a leather strap that comes with the bag but that is too late for me!). I also agree that the strap with your mulitcolour baguette is not nice. Even me as a neutrals girl - I don't think it matches the bag. Also when I tried on the fendi baguette in regular size you have to add the top handle to the longer strap to make it long enough for cross body but then you lose the top handle! Just make the strap adjustable!!! It's really not difficult!! Oh Dear! you've got me going now..... 😂
There is no strap length that is going to work for everyone. I sometimes think that these lengths are made to suit the Asian market, which is ok with me, because I’m petite. But on all clothing, on me, sleeves are too long. Can’t complain, I have short arms!
I totally understand why you are not impressed with the 2 tone neutral strap that came with the multicoloured Fendi baguette. I do get where they were coming from with it though. You could get one of their gold tone metal chains ⛓ to use with it instead. About the strap length on the Chanel 19, I notice it is common on luxury bags that the so called a x-body strap is often 5 to 10cm too short. Somebody thinks a luxury bag looks better as a shoulder bag ( and only on a tall person) but in fact I think a longer strap is in fact more elegant on most people. I heard this from a sales person in Ferragamo when I was trying on one of their top handle classic bags. I wish the luxury brands would listen to feedback about the necessary length for a x-body strap. I could complain about the x-body strap length on the Classic Chanel flapbag but I have done that a lot recently so I will give it a rest. I loved this video. Thank you very much.
First world problems.. LoL. If your spending all that money on a bag, it has to be perfect. The bag may only have one thing wrong, and we focus on that one thing.
The fendi one really cracks me up as you know how much I adore beige 🤣🤣 That inside colour is STUNNING (in my opinion) 🤣🤣
And yet we still love each other 🤣🤣🤣
How refreshing to be informed of these issues concerning these luxury items which could have been designed better for the amount that they cost.
At least it allows people to know in advance if it would be a problem for them or not
Amelia I agree with you on the Fendi baguette that strap is a NO!!! They definitely could've done better. I wanted a pc of the blk denim LV, but changed my mind. LUV the SHW
Someone described it like a seat belt 🤣🤣🤣
The annoying things can certainly affect the overall enjoyment so I love watching these types of videos.
I love these videos too
Great video, I think the multi coloured baguette would have been better if it just had a light beige strap like the handle ! ❤
It really would have!
Thanks for your honesty!!!! Some of these issues have deterred me from purchasing bags…we pay way too much to find there’s something that keeps me from using our precious bags!!!😊
