    This is my favorite lens over any RF or EF mount... Very underrated! Tamron is killing it with there new lenses... I also had the Tamron 35 1.4... which is amazing!

      Yes I have the 35mm 1.4 too - it's sooo good. The best 35mm lens I've used.

    I’m a huge fan of tamron. I’ve been using the 24-70 G2 VC lens for a couple of years and it’s consistent and bullet proof. It’s been all over the world and hasn’t skipped a beat and produces beautiful images every time! Team tamron yo!

    • @MitchLally
      @MitchLally  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Laz Smith Yo Laz! Thanks for watching man. I agree! Havent tried the G2 but I had the G1 - sick lens - did have a few build quality issues with rubber grips but other than that sensational. Tamron doing a great job right now!

    Hi Mitch, Nice to see another very positive review of this lens, I have had it since it came out and it is simply stunning, I am using it on a Nikon D850 and it is amazingly
    sharp all the way through from 35-150, I mainly use it for Landscapes which in itself surprised me as a mainly prime user, it really can replace a few lenses.
    I consider it as one of their best recent releases, along with the also excellent 17-35 2.8-4 DI OSD it covers all I need for a day in the hills.

    • @MitchLally

    I think it will be my next purchase, I also work with fixed lenses (I want to add the new 35 1.4 Tamron), but for some quick photos or travel it is too uncomfortable and as you say you lose many photos, this lens combined with the tanrom 15-30 that I already have and that I really like can be everything that I need in the bag in many situations

    Hi Mitch..Been watching and following all your videos and they are fantastic...! Keep it up, mate!
    May I know if, in 2023, this Tamron lens worth buying for Canon R6? The price of it in Jakarta is very compelling compare to native RF 24 105mm F4 L. The Non L is I believe far less superior than this Tamron lens. Awaiting you response.

    Great video,had my 35-150 for over a year now, never considered selling it, as a travel lens, it's almost unbeatable - normally take this, a Nikon 16-35 and a single prime - 50, 85 or 105 and be done with it

    I've had the Tamron 28-75 on my Sony 80% of the time. It's been rock solid. I had the Sigma 35 1.4 and it is heavy and bulky. My arm was sore from holding it after 2 hours. I returned it!

    • @MitchLally
      @MitchLally  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fair enough! I don't think the sigma 35mm 1.4 is too bad - maybe the E mount version because of all that extra flange!

    Good video as always Mitch!
    A simple question I hope you can answer me. I also use Canon EOS R and have been trying to shoot in C-Log. The problem is that I get a lot of noise in the shadows/dark areas. I noticed that in your video (on the black sofa and in the kitchen oven) you don't have the noise that I usually get in my videos. What settings do you use for filming? Thanks

    I run a 3 camera Black Magic kit for weddings and commercial work. This lens has been my go to, in fact I'm selling my Pictor Zooms (over 2k per lens) in favor of another one of these. I'm excited to trim down my kit. 3 Cameras is a lot to carry around (one of them being an URSA) so if I can save weight and stress I am all for it.

    I'm trying to dig around the rest of the channel but not necessarily finding an answer - so sorry if this is a repeat - but I'm looking between the canon EF 24-105 f4 IS and this lens paired with bmpcc 6k. How's this working for video on that camera for you? I'm excited about the focal reach but worried at your quick comment about the worse stabilization on this lens. Thanks in advance for your help.

    • @MitchLally
      @MitchLally  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Love ur vids! I'm always hesitant to suggest people to rely on image stabilisation theres just faaar too many issues. If you're at a point where your production value requires a bmpcc 6k I think you'd be looking at having a dedicated camera op - a shoulder rig / monopod to keep your shots steady or even a gimbal.

  • @jordansarkisian
    @jordansarkisian 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think I'm more of a 15-35 kinda guy, especially since you can zoom/crop to longer amounts anyways. Never felt as comfortable with stuff past 75-80, just feels uncomfortable for me to shoot that far away for some reason. The wide zooms tho...could use one just a tad lighter and smaller than the one made for the RF mount that thing is a damn brick.

    how do you like it so far? I'm thinking about getting that but I am not sure
    I'm still trying to look around if I should get this. To upgrade my kit lens 18-55mm sl2 crop sensor Canon do you think it's a good pickup or should I just look around. do you also think this will work for other things other than portraits. I would like to use this for portraits and maybe landscapes ect. I was thinking about getting the 24-105 f 4 canon

    • @MitchLally
      @MitchLally  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it's great for landscapes. Keep in mind that at 35mm with the crop on the SL2 you will be starting the zoom range at around the 50mm FF equiv mark which could be a bit limiting for landscapes. You could keep your 18-55 as a wide alternative or go for the 10-18mm from canon instead which would be a good dual lens setup for landscapes and portraits.

    Tamron didn’t say this lens is weather sealed!

      From the Tamron website:
      "Seals are located at the lens mount area and other critical locations to prevent infiltration of moisture and/or rain to provide Moisture-Resistant Construction. This feature affords an additional layer of protection when shooting outdoors under adverse weather conditions".

      Mitch Lally but that doesn’t mean it’s weather sealed! You said on your video it’s weather sealed. It is not!

    Shame that tamron went with F2.8-4 for Canon but F2-2.8 for sony. That's a big difference

      The canon version came 3 years before the sony, plus it’s a completely different mount being mirrorless vs dslr - mirrorless has a different flange distance etc. so you can’t make an identical design for both systems

      @Mitch Lally oh I see, I guess there's deeper meaning to it. Thanks! So, crossing fingers they'll release something for the Canon RF

      @@MitchLally No worries! I thought it was a little funny. How is the lens after more time with it? I just picked up the 17-35 and I am strongly considering the 35-150 to compliment.

      I wish I could show travel examples :( had to cancel my trips where I planned to shoot with it and make a follow up video! So far I’m still stoked on it - I noticed in low light its way slower to focus though!! The 17-35 I reckon is one of the best lenses I’ve ever shot hey.
