I like the idea of a strength vs flaw system that balances specific strengths with specific flaws, or more general strengths with general flaws. It would be interesting to see some random tables for suggestions.
Color me intrigued. How much will be Cypher system like? How about adding a "Wild Die", D6 or some type to simulate feats or special abilities in general. Perhaps to increase damage or reduce or soak damage?
Good idea actually, but you could very well add that to the skills and flaws. Nothing holds you back to say something like ‘extra damage when sneaking’ to that. The base PDF will go on Drivethru for five bucks.
having now actually played it: okay its good. it does exactly what it aims to do, and it does it quite well. i maintain that the character sheet is almost certainly overwhelming to new players, but im not a new player, so idunno. either way i think it would benefit from moving some of the explanation out of the character sheet, and into an explaining text. i think the main flaw is that it relies on an experienced gm, but i actually think it should be open to be used by a group of beginners, including an inexperienced gm. it would be unfortunate not to take that chance. i do love that it doesnt rely on pages upon pages of character options, and instead lets players come up with those things themselves. considering these players are beginners, id recomend including more in depth explanations on how to do it, and what to look out for. overall, i absolutely agree that you are on to something
I have been thinking about this comment a bit, and you make some good points. Now, I don't want to make this game super accessible for all new players without one experienced player/GM at the table, that's just not what I'm building it for, and that needs all that 'how to play an RPG' stuff in there, something I really don't want to do with this. That said, I agree the Character Sheet is getting a bit overwhelming, and I think I found a very SIMPLE solution. I'll just provide a Clean sheet that has none of the explanation stuff on there. I don't want a page explaining stuff, since the whole point is to have a sheet that explains the entire system.
@ and that’s valid! I think that’s a good, SIMPLE (i see what you did there ;)) solution! Actually, if you’re gonna have a clean version, there might be benefit in putting a little more explanation in the explaining version, just to avoid confusion. And maybe some examples, to see it in action. Like an example weapon, skill, flaw, spell,… just to show how to use it. Obviously you don’t have to, but food for thought
Been some time since I've seen 2 Stat Systems. I personally are more into 3 Stat Systems. I give you it is simple. I like it, it does what it needs to do. Whats the Game Mode you aim for? What kind of adventures do you see your system aiming for? For example, Dungeon Crawls could use something like Traps or a dungeon creator. Or a political game is going to need more granularity for social encounters (Thats Why I prefer 3 Stat ^^). Try to find a place for your system, a USP to use Business Speak. Just being accessible will not be enough. It helps, but I have a dozen One Pager who do exactly what I want in any situation and those are dirt cheap, mostly free. Will you be going for predefined spells, like in DnD? Or more Freeform stuff? Would recommend to just go for Freeform Stuff. I will look into backing you system later this day, it could work quite well for quick gameplay, but alas so does ICRPG :D
Hi, thanks for your interest and you make some good points! I am mainly designing this RPG for myself, and after looking at a ton of micro RPGs I just haven't found anything that suits me. So this is gonna do that. It's gonna teach 5th edition without it being 5th edition in a way.

There are some very interesting ideas here.
Thanks!
Keep up the great work.
Thanks!

That’s one of the things I got in the pipeline actually. Probably pretty soon, if you see the backerkit page, it’s next on the list.

Just backed! We're live as well - Rising tides!
Thanks! And I’ll go there tomorrow

Again, thanks for being a part of this!

Typo: Divided
On the level one monster template
Thanks!
Typo: Physcial
Where?
Thanks!
And 'physcal' in the weapon section and 'efffect' in the spells section... I'd strongly recommend hiring a proofreader.
A proof reader is deff gonna be a thing once I get to 1.0, right now taking hints from the community is worth a lot.
Why no comments?
I have NO idea.
