Miss those Orion 5’s. We had 30,35,40ft’rs at Whatcom Transit Authority in Bellingham WA. They all had Cummins M11. Was disappointed when they came without the Detroit 50’s
I know something about the Cummins M-11. Those sound like semi trucks. The best sound ever. At least we had that particular enginein the Flixible Metro B buses from New Jersey transit
Here in the uk, in around 2015 bus engine downsizing craze began with 4 cylinder engines in double deckers. However in north america you guys had 4 cylinder series 50 in long 12-13m transit buses since late 1993 and early 1994 with d40lf. Ireland had detroit 6v71 double decker gac kd, and any detroit engine is very rare in uk
Damnnnn thats one beautiful Orion. I enjoy that detroit diesel engine, also what happened to its side on the driver side its like touching the ground did something collapse to do that? @1:15
The air suspension doesn’t work properly on this bus It occasionally does bottom out hard Since this video was recorded the bottom lift panel folded in on itself and the driver windshield was cracked from a rock chip

The Cummins M-11 is a actually a much more appealing engine because it sounds like a semi truck. I always loved them.
Imagine this engine was available for School Buses
🔥🔥🔥🔥
They would have to have a longer hood to fit that engine. A Series 50 is much bigger and heavier than a turbo diesel
