@@TechMadeEzy one last quastion for portable generator. In you experience testing what do you recommend me for frigirator to run at least .1) what portable brand and how big 2) what voltage solar 3)low budget 4) thanks
This was the best review I saw on this device and I saw hundreds of people reviewing it you did a fantastic job with real world testing and I didn't have to be an electronics whiz to figure this stuff out... Great job my friend
Haven’t watched the entire review but am already really impressed! Hate to say it but Hobotech needs to watch this!! Yeah, he’s phenomenal but yours is as much! Just ordered one earlier today…
This guy's great at explaining to the laymen, I'm an Electro-Mech. Engineer and I still loved it, i.e. wasn't bored!! He and Brooklyn give it a nice "Mr Rogers" kind of feel, lol!! Good TV/RADIO Voice/presence!! KEEP UP THE "GREAT WORK"!!!!
I have a 12.8 v lifepo4 50 ah battery $100 usd coming to supplement the EB3A capacity to make a total of about 800 wh. I purchased the EB3A from Bluetti for $167 free freight last month. Can’t beat the value of this unit. Pass through charging gives this little package so much flexibility.
This video is is perhaps the best video that demonstrates everything that one needs to know about generator. It is complete and very very informative. Great job.
I've got TWO of them, and they're so handy! Great for Camping Trips to power my wife's CPAP Machine, rather than bringing a noisy gas powered generator. Or Keeping a Portable Fridge/Cooler going in the car while at a Beach, without draining the Car Battery!
I have one of these Bluetti EB3A and used it on my last camping trip to keep my setpower 12v frig powered for 8 days straight. It surpassed the time that I thought it would take to draw down the battery, I was able to get about 16 hours of use between charges which ment I didn't have to worry about it running out of power well sleeping during the night.
The you mention that it powered your 12v fridge for 8 days straight? What fridge and how many watts to run it? That sounds impossible if you ran it with just the eb3a battery only.
@@wildhog3217 my 50 liter set power fridge uses about between 35 and 40 watts when the compressor is running and the compressor only runs about 20 to 30 minutes per hour during the day and even less at night.
Thank for this In-Depth study. I am glad I purchased my Bluetti EB3A. Last night I won one on Bluetti livestreaming. I was so surprised that I won one. I have two now, that I can use to charge up laptops, batteries, cell phone, and other small items, and let the big generators do their job with bigger items.
Great review and I loved the fact that you spoke slowly (but not too slow) and enunciated your words so things were very clear. This is a vanishing abilility I think. You make a great teacher! The technical details were comprehensive too!
I’ve been interested for a while in getting a solar generator. I wanted specifically to be able to charge my Ego batteries and power tool batteries using solar and low and behold you did exactly that in this review. I was sold right there on this and will be getting my own in the near future. Thank you for an in depth review.
Awesome presentation Sir. I received my EB3A from Amazon on Prime Day. Not being a technical guy I didn't understand several items to be used. Your explanation encouraged me to experiment with various new enhancements on the unit. Thank you for your dedication and explanations.
Thanks Jim, stay in touch and let me know if you have any questions and just be careful don't experiment with solar make sure that you connect the right panel if you decide to do that
We use EB3A for our router and as a charging station at night in our off grid home. Works great like he said on gaming pc and charging phones. Router pulling 22w runs for an easy 6hrs with occasional phone charge on the usb-c. This battery made it possible for us to test Bluetti and LiFeP04 even if small capacity battery. We know plan on going with AC200Max and couple B230 for power station in the spring
Thank you for taking the time to explain all the ports on the EB3A and the connectors available, listing the links for these products on Amazon so I could order the correct parts to make the most of this power station. You're the Best!
Can it make coffee and what do you usually use it for? I didn't know these things would actually run some cool stuff like a refrigerator. I'm impressed
@@jacobortwine7063 I use mine for camping. I already have an ecoflow but once everyone at my campsite site saw those AC sockets they hogged it. So bought another eb3a for them to use. I use it for airmatress, running a projector and charging devices. Most of all I got it for emergencies since I can't run a combustion generator where I live. I'm sure it can run a single cup coffee maker since run time is soo short. There is some kind of wattage boost like the ecoflow to run high wattage devices for a short time. I will be buying a 12 volt portable refrigerator and can't wait to test my generators on that.
Thank you so much for making this video! I appreciate the way you used real devices in your examples because I'm not an electrician and I don't know a an amp from a watt. All I need is an estimate of "about" how long a power device can give me power during an outage. I won't be powering my fridge; I just won't open the door as often. If you plan on making future videos, I'd love to see one with a unit that charges the following while the public power is out: - One 30"-50" flat panel tv (perhaps a DVD player) - One laptop - One 75-100 watt lamp - One floor fan To be honest, when you started talking about the roku and routers and the blah, blah...I stopped paying attention because it didn't apply to me (and I don't think most will care about their security cameras during a power outage). BUT...during a power outage I do want to be entertained. The laptop is mandatory, the tv could be optional in a pinch, but during the summer I'll really need the fan. My internet has a built-in battery backup of it's own, so I won't power it. If you were to do another real world example of minimal devices, that would be great. OR, OR, or, you could do this. All electrical devices have a label that shows volts, watts and all that stuff. Tell me what to look at, and count up on these labels so I know what size watts or volts or amps I need to run the stuff in my house. That way "everybody" can see how much power they use. I know...I can't tell you what to do. I know, I could make my own video. Please allow me to be clear; I'm only suggesting. Your video is GREAT and I've got no complaints. All I'm saying is, if you're thinking about another video, I'm suggestion one for the average Joe. Some folks wanna know how long their CPAP machine will run, not everyone has a house and just want to keep a single room air conditioned, others need a tablet to run so their kid won't go bezerk (teach a Bro to fish, why don't cha). I will say this though; if you can spend $300 and keep your food from spoiling for 5-6 hours, that's pretty (explative) good, because short of a hurricane, six hours is plenty (for me). Second big thanks for reading this to the end. :D
Great idea with the fridge test. You can extend that long obviously with solar option. Also if you were in a true blackout, and you couldn’t use solar… the fridge will last the first 4 hours without anything spoiling provided you don’t open it. So you technically can wait a bit to hook up the fridge, let it run for about an hour or so to get cold, then unplug it and repeat. That will allow you to extend that 6 hours significantly.
Yes or maybe use a cheap timer that will automatically turn fridge on and back off after 1.5 hours or whatever and really extend the run time of Bluetti
FWIW, I think there's a physics issue here that is overlooked. While it might help some (because the insides won't maintain the 40 degree temp desired (0 for freezer)), one could do the same thing by pushing the fridge temp setting up some. The reason I don't think it's going to help a lot is because when the fridge is turned back on it will be running the compressor constantly for a long time to try to bring the temp back down. In normal continuous powered operation, it's going to cycle on and off like a thermostat does with the AC in a house. So it's kinda already doing the on-off cycling. It's just maintaining the internal temperatures more constant if the Bluetti is left on. I wonder what average temperature is OK for food over a 12 hour or day-long period ?
Plugging and unplugging won’t help it last longer. A fridge only runs periodically and takes power when the compressors on when it gets over the 40° or whatever you have it set at. If it’s uplugged for a time it’s gonna go way over when you plug it back in the fridge will run and draw power for an hour straight.
We do this suggestion all the time here in South Africa where the power goes off all the time, and it works great. If Joe Biden wins again.... I think my fellow Americans will really start needing to own one of these little inverters. Sad to say.....
I just ordered this generator. I'm elderly and had no idea what to order as well as a solar panel inexpensive 100 watt. Hope it works. I'm on SS so couldn't get an expensive one. This is the best in depth video I've seen. You explained things I haven't seen or surely wouldn't know. Such a great help for me. Our electricity went out a couple weeks ago and I was litterly pouring water over my head until I got a small 5000 window unit. My HVAC is out but I have no idea how many watts it uses. We're having a very hot summer here in Louisiana so far. I barely get out of in front of this little ac. K have COPD so it's very hard to breathe outside. But in the winter, I use a 100 watt electric throw. Thank you so much for showing us this in depth review. I did sub. 🙏
Thank you very much. It is a small unit in the review, very small battery. If you want something that will run longer and has some expansion take a look at these two th-cam.com/video/MUe7Y0clqXQ/w-d-xo.html Also this one th-cam.com/video/ixx4gfHV4oo/w-d-xo.html
@@TechMadeEzy Thank you but I could barely afford the EB3A and a solar panel. I have a lot wrong with this home and no running car, no running water since 2018 because I can't afford a water heater and now mold, but my electric bill went down the last 2 months by about $25 each month just using electricity. Hopefully I can keep my generator charged as we are in about 5 weeks of 100s. Tc and ty🙏
Great overview. I ordered one a few days ago and started searching for videos to see all the features. Can't wait to try it out.❤ Thanks for all the info.
Thank you for the most comprehensive review I have ever seen. I've bookmarked your video so I can rewatch it next week when I receive my Bluetti EB3A. You are a STAR!!!!!
Great video! Hours in decimal format is not hard to calculate though. For every 0.1, add 6 minutes. So, if it's 1.3 hours, it's 1 hour + (6*3) = 1 hour 18 minutes. People tend to make that much harder than it really is...
Watching the Replay… thank you for this demo! I came to TH-cam University looking at the Jackery but you have be sold on the Bluetti because you explained everything just right! Thanks!
I will which one was it? How much did you pay for it? I need something now while I get my camper ready to live in. For things like fans, refrigerator, small tools etc. Which one do you recommend?
I've actually used this thing to make a pot of coffee with power lifting mode turned on. Uses about half the battery, maybe a little more to make a full pot. Doesn't make the coffee quite as hot as wall AC power, but still pretty hot and perfectly drinkable.
I plugged in a 8000 btu midea u shape window ac unit ,couldn't believe it ran it. Wasn't even pushing it hard, only about 350 watts had it on for about 20 minutes and had 82% left from 100% ,went down to about 100 watts for a bit with ac on eco mode. But still.. that's just wild, probably wouldn't have went much more than an hour but impressed!!. Realistically this is more about the ac since the eb3a but I didn't have any expectations of eb3a working for an 8000 btu ac at all , I have a pecron e2000 lfp for the ac unit and it will run it for about 7 hours give or take depending on factors that change, but nice to know the little eb3a could step in for a bit if needed, as I'm in Arizona and we need our ac units when power goes down
@@TechMadeEzy granted this is not your average 8000 btu window ac.. it's much more efficient than the average. If you get the chance to look at a video on one it's the midea u shape window ac 8000 btu ,kinda like a split unit and window unit in one, variable inverter. But that little eb3a ran it, quiet as all get out too
@@TechMadeEzy yeah I’ve been wanting to see someone use it to 0% from start to finish. I’m a DJ and want to power a portable dj controller which on spec sheet says requires 50 watts when I saw the fridge test I was impressed. Even your solar demonstration was great. Thank you!
Thanks for this detailed and most informative video! This Bluetti looks like a good option for keeping various electronics going during a power outage. I'd be interested to hear what you think about its pros and cons, versus the Delta Mini. I think I'd like having a smaller unit to power at least my modem upstairs, so I don't need to run a 100-ft extension cord down to the larger unit where it's powering the fridge. By the way, my Delta Max kept my older fridge and mini fridge going all night during an extended power outage last week, with 25% charge left to spare!
You made a really great video. It was detailed without being boring and I hung on 'til the bitter end, but I was ultimately disappointed. The very thing that I was most interested in hearing your take on just got glossed over with no testing, whatsoever. That would be the Power Lift Mode. I have two of these units and they simply don't do what I was lead to understand they should do in Power Lift Mode (I'll refer to it as PLM going forward) I've seen less competent YT reviewers try the PLM with inductive loads and with resistive loads that exceed the 1200 watt maximum, but none that actually test the unit the way it should be tested. All of those reviewers have proudly pointed out that the PLM was working while, at the same time, displaying instrument readings that clearly show that much less than 600 watts was being delivered to the device. Maybe you could do a Part 2 and test that feature properly with a strictly resistive load (no fan or blower motors involved, as in a 1800 watt heat gun) that was no more than 1200 watts. My own tests, with both my units, running a 900 watt toaster, shows a power output to it that is closer to 250 watts than 600 watts. I got similar results with a drip coffee maker. Based on the actual instruments being displayed in those videos that I mentioned, nobody else is getting 600 watts in PLM either, they just didn't understand what they were seeing well enough to know that they weren't or they didn't understand how PLM was supposed to work. I look forward to your further testing, if you think it would be worthwhile.
I been wanting to get a ebike and want a lightweight but small portable power station to recharge it. I want it for camping and this unit would be perfect for that and will fit in the bike rack. Thanks for the useful information.
would love to see you test some of the larger units as well including refrigerator test. not enough reviews testing the fridge and passthrough out there. Nice review
Thanks for the long-form video. I wish you had tested silent mode charging. However, based on your video, I ordered an EB3a, so I will be able to do that test myself in a few days. New sub and a like from me, keep up the good work!
Thank you so much believe me we record a lot in order to get the right footage and I make sure it's as clean as possible. Thanks so much have a wonderful day
This is a very comprehensive test. I am in doubt about what to buy here in Ukraine, so your video gives me the information to make the right decision. Thanks!
I've preached in Ukraine years ago.... in and around Kiev. I'm living in South Africa now where the power grid goes off everyday. We own an Ecoflow Delta 2. You want the Delta 2 because it has the better Phosphate battery. We might also buy a Bluetti. Both are of world class quality. The ecoflow may charge a bit faster but Bluetti has some cool features I like....such as the light, and phone charger on the top. I'm praying for you all and your country. I still have a former step son lving in Kiev with his grandmother. My American missionary friend who has a church there in Kiev....had to return to the states with his wife, until things get better. He's 80 years old and still working for the Lord. He loves the Ukrainian people, and his wife is from there. He still hopes to return to continue his work there. Stay Strong, and keep the Faith!!!
Imagine attaching a Li ion phosphate 12 v battery 100 Ah 1280 wh to power this baby in extending its power and discharge time? Unarguably a match made in heaven when a grid down scenario occurs. This was a dope ass review btw.. Thank you as I own one now 😁
So, Turbo is about 4minutes quicker? Did i miss something? I think i'll stick to standard to preserve the battery life. Great review. Super helpful. Thank you.
I wish Bluetti (and Jackery and others) would quote more info on the surge-power rating - specifically: how long will the EB3A put out it's rated surge power of 1200W? It's one thing to have a nice 2x factor for "surges" (the EB3A is a 600W unit), but without knowing how long you can expose the unit to that surge power level, the spec is not useful. Of course refrigerators only quote their run power (usually conservatively), so we don't know what their surge is or how long it lasts either :-( FWIW, I took my EB3A and hooked it to an 800Watt PTC heater and it cut out in less than a second. So the surge rating is not useful for anything 1 second or longer. Not Bluetti's fault - same with Jackery, etc. - which is why real-world fridge testing like you did is so valuable. Thanks for the video !
You misunderstood what surge means. It's for fridges and things like that - that normally run at a low wattage of say 200 watts or less, but when the compressor kicks in, it surges up to say 1000 watts or so, but only for a second.... you hope...lol. Some new eco friendly fridges might do better than older power hungry fridges. It's a hit and miss thing. But your heater doesn't work like a fridge does. You connected your EB3A to a 800 watt heater. It won't run that high.... not in normal mode. Maybe in power lifting mode it might run it but then the heater will only be putting out 600 watts of heat.... not 800. You see? I live in South Africa now and have to deal with this garbage all the time. It's my life now......hope this helps. Cheers!
I've run my mini fridge off mine a few times lasts about 2 hours. The best feature of this box is the ups feature. I can essentially daisy chain it effectively increasing wh
Great review! Won't this car charge with the right adapter through the same socket as you use for solar? I am thinking this is a perfect size for my motorcycle/side car.
I have an Anker 757 and very pleased thus far, have run a Kranzle 1622 @1703watts for heavy load testing and it handled it with easy, also a 14amp miter saw with no problems, had plenty of power left after the project, I really want to see someone recharge these with a portable generator because if we can fast charge @1000 watts(Anker 757) for 1-2 hours that would really allow you to get more run time for extended power outtages
Can I use my EB3A in UPS Bypass Mode (plugged into AC power) with my modem/router (plugged into the EB3A) so that even if we have a blackout/brownout my modem/router will still have power from the EB3A battery? Our plan is to keep the EB3A in UPS Bypass Mode 365 days a year as insurance against frequent power failures where we live. Will this overheat our EB3A, or overcharge the battery, or any other unforeseen trouble?
Hi there. What I really want to know is that when you did the refrigerator test with the bluetti eb3a did the stuff in the freezer part of the refrigerator get really really blocked??
Thanks for the information, I’ve been struggling about buying one for camping. I think I’m going to get the EB3A but will probably buy a aftermarket Solar Panel.
They are plenty of solar panels out there if you just grab a rigid one they’re around 100 bucks. Have fun camping let me know how it goes thank you so much for watching the video
Fantastic review! I think on cons, you'd have to add the buzzing sound from the fan. I think as far as suggestions, in addition to a setting for how long the screen stays on, a setting which would turn on the light automatically if disconnected from power, would be great for a power outage at night. Question: can you turn off the bluetooth? obviously it's handy, but it would be nice to have a way to turn it off when you don't need it. Overall, I'm very interested in getting this, and I don't consider any of the cons to be obstacles. I had hoped to find something exactly like this, but _ideally_ it would have a couple hundred more maximum watts of output rate, so it could do double-duty as a UPS for a _desktop_ work computer (one which draws 800+ watts under load). It's certainly not a requirement, I can get a separate UPS for computer. But it would have been nice if this killed 2 birds with one stone.
Thanks for watching and no I haven’t seen anything where you can turn Bluetooth off. Take a look at my playlist for battery PowerStations. I’ve got a bunch more reviews of different size units..
I own thr EB3A, solid unit.. even accidentally drop it twice ans hold up well… no issue. Only thing is it charged slow even when outside is temp is 50ish degrees… wish the BMS isn’t so restricted
Great video as usual. Now that you have the Jackery SolarSaga 80W did you use it to charge the EB3A? I own an EB3A, and would like to get the SolarSaga 80W, but I'd like to make sure they are compatible. Thank you for any help.
@@TechMadeEzy Thanks. Oh that's a pity. Maybe Bluetti will make a similar one one day. I really like it. And they are in sale for 160 € right now. So I almost got it.

I like how you did your testing. This looks like a unit good for my needs. I'm curious as to how long it takes to charge from zero to full charge using 200 watt solar panels
Thanks Lee If your panel actually will produce 200 W, it would take about two hours, but assume it will give you say 150w then it will take around 3 hours
Hi, great channel. Please can you tell me what do you think is the best bang for buck system (oct 2022) that can be purchased for £1000/$1000. I can't afford the step up to Ecoflow pro/ Bluetti ac200 pro but woud idealy like lifepo4 and would hope to be able to charge fridge freezer/ heater. Basically home backup in power cut.
When talking about total charge cycles I think you would have less over all charge cycles if you always charge on turbo and not standard because you are heating up the batteries more which is harder on the batteries. When charging and unit gets hot, how long should you let it cool down before using it. Also after using it you should not charge right away and let it have a chance to cool down. Am I correct?
On the same page, I don’t fast charge much unless I really need to due to the heat that will sooner or later affect the battery. And I agree, I like to let batteries cool down 👍🏼
@@TechMadeEzy Our ecoflow gets hot when we charge it. It seems to not shut off automatically when it reaches 100% as our Ryobi 500 watt inverter does. Were busy buying one for every room in the house....ha ha!
I used a DC7909 connector, bought from ebay and meant for charging a Lenovo laptop i think, which takes 100w PD and charged my EB3A using PD from an Omnicharge 25600 mAh power pack through the MPPT port on the EB3A
Hello do you think this will power a small 200 watt heater for a 20 min commute to work... my heat went out in my car. Thanks for the review, and thanks for a reply
Thank you for this awesome review. I left mine is in standard/default charging and it gets pretty warm, it also stays very warm when the unit is on and nothing is plugged in. Did you notice this as well?
Hi Alfie thank you and I did notice it does get a little warm. Just make sure you check for any firmware updates on the app. They do end up fixing some things that maybe you’re not experiencing right now. Also, my recommendation try not to charge it past 90% and try not to let it drop below 10%. That’s just battery maintenance that’s all. Of course, if you need to use the full 100% you can, but don’t do that too often.
Thank you for your feedback. I wasnt sure if I received a defective unit. I also found some burning smells from the unit, maybe the initial use? I am trying to use this in my gun safe to power my watch winders. When I open the safe, there is a burning smell. I may send it back and get another unit, as the box I received it in was damaged.. it may have been bumped around too much
Since you have the EGO tools, I wonder if you've tried to use an EGO battery to extend the life of the Bluetti. Could probably use the 150w Nexus inverter to charge Bluetti in Silent mode at 100w and double the run time of your fridge for example.
Fantastic walk-through, much appreicated. One question I cannot easily work out the answer for is, is it okay to leave the device on the grid even when fully charged (so it can instantly kick in when the power goes), like a normal UPS?
Thanks As you saw during the ups demo it was pretty quick but we weren’t able to get the timing from Bluetti , I would not recommend connecting a computer to be safe but most other items should be fine.
@@peterbrandt7456 You can always hook up an old worn out laptop on it to see what happens. I think it should be alright, but I wouldn't connect a world class laptop to it....just to be safe.
Hi, I’ve just bought the Bluetti EB 3A and it came with a 16w solar panel. My problem is: the Bluetti uses a MC4 connector and the solar panel has Anderson plug. Is there an adapter to join these together? I’m in Australia. I found your video very informative as well. Thank you 😊
Thanks for your compliment all I can say is you might be able to find a cable on Amazon that maybe converts the DC cable to the mc4 also the panel you're mentioning is it really only 16w? That is very low wattage
@@TechMadeEzy Hi, sorry the solar panel I was referring to is 160w and it has an Anderson plug cable. So I’m unable to connect it to charge the Bluetti because it uses a MC4 attachment.
@@TechMadeEzy Hi, thanks but that won’t work because the red (positive) wire needs to be male, as the Bluetti red wire is female. I need one the other way around.
No it’s really not due to the small battery. Good for small devices , phones , laptop. My refrigerator is a newer more efficient model and it did help. I’d recommend getting a unit with a bigger battery depending on your needs
Thanks a bunch seriously, they make an add-on battery that really expands the battery capacity but it’s expensive see the video below th-cam.com/video/V6qC00JpNQY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cAjwUyKQoWLDyVge
Great demo, I just purchased one of these. I'm curious about the refrigerator test as to how long you could actually get it to run by cycling on/off every hour or 2 hours and how the power on surges affect the drain.
Hi Scott thank you so much yeah I never really mess with turning the refrigerator on or off I think that's an option for people to think about but it's a good idea
I live in South Africa where the power goes off almost everyday. Sometimes for days at a time. In a total black out.... you can wait the first six to eight hours, as the freezer will stay cold for that long. Then use the Bluetti for one hour in every 4 hours. Because the nights are cooler... you could even skip using it while you sleep. That little unit might keep your stuff cold enough for a few days doing it this way. Also... using solar will extend this to whenever....
To be honest I haven't reviewed a jackery power station but I did review a solar panel of theirs. I purchased a lot of the items I review unless I have a sponsorship but they've never reached out to me. Sorry I couldn't be of much help
Thanks for this review, it helped a lot to compare different stations. Such power stations is very useful in Ukraine when russia hit power plants and there is no electricity for 10 hours
I've been to Ukraine on a short term missions trip years ago. Now living in South Africa where the grid goes down almost everyday for hours at a time, so I feel your pain. We own an Ecoflow Delta 2 which is great for powering just about anything. But for the money....this Bluetti is a great deal. God bless and stay safe!
I remember I was looking first for a power bank charger for my phone and gopro cam, and I came across to see these power stations listed on my google search for power bank. I did more research for these bluetti and I got it. Also there is a lot of videos that talk about the unit but they never mention the fact that if you thought this little powerful unit is awesome, there is an add up to that, and it is that you can increase the battery capacity from 268 capacity you can extend that even more if you make your own connectors to a lifepo4 50 or 100 ah battery. Instead of getting the standard 30 watt hours you can even make it up to 1230 hour watts.
Bought this last week so far I love it. I have 2 Xtar 100 watt folding panels parallel, charges it pretty fast. Side by side comparison with a 200 watt 9bb panel almost identical.
Which of the two stations is louder? I think this is an important question for many. Personally, I find the River 2 to be too loud for quiet work on the PC from an input or output of over 90 watts.
Great video and I’ve now subscribed, however you never mentioned that you need to turn on the DC to use usb! I recently bought this unit after having an Anker 521 due to its higher rated ac inverter so that can boil a small travel kettle in my campervan. However I have found the efficiency very poor when charging via USB and have been getting only 7 or 8 phone charges before the unit is depleted which is even less than the Anker which I thought was very poor compared to the claimed battery capacity. What are you thoughts on this?
The price that they're selling this unit at and what you're getting is actually pretty good but keep in mind getting a larger battery will always cost more. This unit obviously is an expandable like many small units you might want to look at a Delta 2, not only is it more powerful but you can also buy expansion batteries. The unit is bigger but not much bigger when you weigh out what you get for your money, right now it's $100 off definitely will cost you more money but you will get a whole lot more for your money here's the link take a look when you have time amzn.to/3glxwSG
This unit can handle 600 watts with a 1200 watt surge so as long as your appliances are under that then you should be fine but you need to check into that to make sure. Also, Many of these power stations will run many appliances and then it comes down to how big the battery is or what we call battery capacity. This unit has a small battery but it's a pretty powerful

I learned more tonight about my now two year old EB3A from your video than anything else on TH-cam about it including the instruction manual.
Thank you
Just purchased this model. Hands down the best review on TH-cam. Kudos 👏🏻

DC doesn't use as much power in many cases, nice Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
The you mention that it powered your 12v fridge for 8 days straight? What fridge and how many watts to run it? That sounds impossible if you ran it with just the eb3a battery only.
@@wildhog3217 I of course charged up the EB3 everyday with my 100w Thunderbolt solar panel. That's how very Easley done.

Barrel to cigarette port cable is nice. I also ordered some cigarette to usb plugs too.

Thanks Jim, stay in touch and let me know if you have any questions and just be careful don't experiment with solar make sure that you connect the right panel if you decide to do that
The love this man has for his dog.
Do you plug you router via the DC cable? Actually normal router (if not the monstrous one with antennas with banana size) should eat 5-10 watts.
Thank you for taking the time to explain all the ports on the EB3A and the connectors available, listing the links for these products on Amazon so I could order the correct parts to make the most of this power station. You're the Best!
Thank you
Phenomenal test! I have the eb3a and it's good to know it can run a big refrigerator for that long. I'm impressed!
Thanks Nav
@@DoritosResidue Sure you did
Thank you so much for making this video! I appreciate the way you used real devices in your examples because I'm not an electrician and I don't know a an amp from a watt. All I need is an estimate of "about" how long a power device can give me power during an outage. I won't be powering my fridge; I just won't open the door as often. If you plan on making future videos, I'd love to see one with a unit that charges the following while the public power is out:
- One 30"-50" flat panel tv (perhaps a DVD player)
- One laptop
- One 75-100 watt lamp
- One floor fan
To be honest, when you started talking about the roku and routers and the blah, blah...I stopped paying attention because it didn't apply to me (and I don't think most will care about their security cameras during a power outage).
Thanks Michael 👍🏼
I bought one of these and it perfect for camping and running my BougeRv 12v fridge.
Thank you!
That’s a great idea.
Never thought about it!

Great video! Hours in decimal format is not hard to calculate though. For every 0.1, add 6 minutes. So, if it's 1.3 hours, it's 1 hour + (6*3) = 1 hour 18 minutes. People tend to make that much harder than it really is...

Thanks for sharing Jonathan wow almost half the battery
I plugged in a 8000 btu midea u shape window ac unit ,couldn't believe it ran it. Wasn't even pushing it hard, only about 350 watts had it on for about 20 minutes and had 82% left from 100% ,went down to about 100 watts for a bit with ac on eco mode. But still.. that's just wild, probably wouldn't have went much more than an hour but impressed!!.
Realistically this is more about the ac since the eb3a but I didn't have any expectations of eb3a working for an 8000 btu ac at all , I have a pecron e2000 lfp for the ac unit and it will run it for about 7 hours give or take depending on factors that change, but nice to know the little eb3a could step in for a bit if needed, as I'm in Arizona and we need our ac units when power goes down
8000 BTU air conditioner wow
@@TechMadeEzy granted this is not your average 8000 btu window ac.. it's much more efficient than the average. If you get the chance to look at a video on one it's the midea u shape window ac 8000 btu ,kinda like a split unit and window unit in one, variable inverter. But that little eb3a ran it, quiet as all get out too

Thanks for doing the fridge test. That's exactly what i would need the battery for...
Thank you as well
You made a really great video.
Thank for your feedback

Weird but yes because the battery is so small
this is why I pay for internet. thank you for all the effort.
You cant call it surge if its longer then a second lol
Cheers!

That should work but your best bet is to contact Bluetti to double check.

Could you solar charge it while you use it ? On the fridge may have gone longer?
Yes definitely
I own thr EB3A, solid unit.. even accidentally drop it twice ans hold up well… no issue. Only thing is it charged slow even when outside is temp is 50ish degrees… wish the BMS isn’t so restricted
Ac charging you can switch to turbo mode, have you tried that?
Great video as usual. Now that you have the Jackery SolarSaga 80W did you use it to charge the EB3A? I own an EB3A, and would like to get the SolarSaga 80W, but I'd like to make sure they are compatible. Thank you for any help.

@@TechMadeEzy Great, thanks.
Hi it should but if it has a surge which I don't think it has it might not work. Sorry I can't give you a definite 100% which knowing it all
Did you find a link for DC barrel cable to car charger that says coming back soon? Love this video. It's helping me so much with my Bluetti.
Here you go

Just ordered one. Thanks again for your quick response.
First time on your channel. Cool review. You sound like my son in law who's from New York.
Thank you I appreciate that
Thank you for this awesome review.
I may send it back and get another unit, as the box I received it in was damaged.. it may have been bumped around too much
@MrAlife4life my pleasure buddy. the smell is kind of normal. It’ll go away, but it might take a while. It’s never gonna completely go away.
Thanks
As you saw during the ups demo it was pretty quick but we weren’t able to get the timing from Bluetti , I would not recommend connecting a computer to be safe but most other items should be fine.
@@TechMadeEzy Thanks, pays to be cautious, I guess.
Let me know how it goes if you end up trying this out and how long etc 👍🏼
@@peterbrandt7456 You can always hook up an old worn out laptop on it to see what happens. I think it should be alright, but I wouldn't connect a world class laptop to it....just to be safe.
@@thommysides4616thanks - worn out old laptops do not hang around in this house 🙂
Bodes well for a EB70 replacement with all these features and better display. Probably will be a while as the EB 70 isn’t that old.
@@TechMadeEzy
Hi, sorry the solar panel I was referring to is 160w and it has an Anderson plug cable. So I’m unable to connect it to charge the Bluetti because it uses a MC4 attachment.
@estelleschmidt2243 that makes sense 160w. Not sure if this will work, check it out
amzn.to/42vLLb4
@@TechMadeEzy
Hi, thanks but that won’t work because the red (positive) wire needs to be male, as the Bluetti red wire is female. I need one the other way around.
@estelleschmidt2243 maybe buy that one and then get an adapter that converts?
I have the ac200p and Been looking for a smaller unit.. this review made my decision. Have a blessed Xmas sir.
You too thanks soo much
A great review, very comprehensive, many thanks.
Thank you as well Irvin
Brilliant review! Can this be left plugged in permanently whilst having devices be powered off of it? I experience many power outages where I live.
I recommend you contact the manufacture with a question like that. I’m pretty sure they’ll have some follow up questions for you.
Going to order me the Eco flow River 2 maybe that one I won't have any problems with
is this ideal for backup power? I saw you powered a fridge so would that be any normal fridge?
No it’s really not due to the small battery. Good for small devices , phones , laptop. My refrigerator is a newer more efficient model and it did help. I’d recommend getting a unit with a bigger battery depending on your needs
Nice unit indeed minus battery capacity. Great review. A++++++
Thanks a bunch seriously, they make an add-on battery that really expands the battery capacity but it’s expensive see the video below

Very comprehensive, thanks. My iphone7 won’t charge wirelessly with case off and with DC power on. Any ideas?
Hi thank you
I don’t think iPhone 7 had wireless charging honestly
Do you plan to review the jackery 300 plus (LiFePO4)? I am torn between that and the EB3A.
To be honest I haven't reviewed a jackery power station but I did review a solar panel of theirs. I purchased a lot of the items I review unless I have a sponsorship but they've never reached out to me. Sorry I couldn't be of much help
@@TechMadeEzy thanks for the reply! Hopefully they reach out in the future
Thanks buddy
Hi ! Do you know if using UPS on this system and having it plugged into the wall 24/7 is bad for the battery?
Hi Jethro I'd check with Bluetti on that to be safe.
@@TechMadeEzy thank you I appreciate your response 👍
My pleasure
wen u did the refrigerator test do you remember if the freezer part of the fridge was very cold??
Yes Freezer is always set to very cold
You're making me hungry for bacon
@TechMadeEzy let's get the electric pan and hook it up on the bluetti lets see for how long it will take to get us bacon ready.😅😂😂
Lol
Bought this last week so far I love it. I have 2 Xtar 100 watt folding panels parallel, charges it pretty fast. Side by side comparison with a 200 watt 9bb panel almost identical.
Plus Xtar panels already have 7909 plug.
Nice little unit
Which of the two stations is louder? I think this is an important question for many. Personally, I find the River 2 to be too loud for quiet work on the PC from an input or output of over 90 watts.
They're both very similar
@@TechMadeEzy Thanks
Will this unit power a 20 cu. ft. Frost Free Fridge/Freezer and a 20 cu. ft. Frost Free Freezer at the same time?
This unit can handle 600 watts with a 1200 watt surge so as long as your appliances are under that then you should be fine but you need to check into that to make sure. Also, Many of these power stations will run many appliances and then it comes down to how big the battery is or what we call battery capacity. This unit has a small battery but it's a pretty powerful
