Thank you very much for this tutorial, this is exactly what I was looking for. The TH-cam was recomended me your podcast, so I was subscribed your chanel and I'm going to watching all your podcast. Greetings from Scotland ❤
Thank you for your explanation of the buttonhole. I was having a difficult time grasping what I was doing until you simply stated bind off two stitches, cast on two stitches, and demonstrated it. I also appreciate your reinforced cast on.
Thank you so much for this video! It was so helpful! I finished a sweater while having covid and couldn’t get help at the knit store in isolation! Saying don’t be afraid was so helpful!!!
Thankyou so much! I did it! I hand sewed the steek as I didn’t have a machine and it all worked. I will probably put a ribbon over the steek. I have so enjoyed following the videos and learnt such a lot. I’m looking forward to doing another!
I love your tutorials! I am a beginning knitter living in Iceland, and I am learning through your channel. You make it all so clear. Thank you! Also, I need to know more about your kitty necklace--it's exquisite!
Thank you, this was great, I have really enjoyed knitting along with you. my Kristylopi is soaking now, tomorrow I will do the steeking. By the way, great interview with Kristy, I loved it.
Exquisite cardigan, Hélène. I'm wondering how you finished the cut steek edges on the inside with all the little yarn ends sticking out beyond the machine stitching. I think I see some hand-stitching but somehow I didn't catch your method anywhere in the video. Thank you so much!
Thank you Robin! I rolled and sew the edge by hand toward the inside :-) You can also hide it with a ribbon: see the tutorial icelandicknitter.com/sewing-a-ribbon/
@@icelandicknitter That's so helpful! I have to tell you, I did my first Icelandic steek a couple of days ago and it was this video of yours that helped me every scary step of the way. I searched TH-cam and yours was easily the clearest and most helpful. Bonus: everything looks so lovely, including you! Thank you so much for guiding me.
I just recently came across your videos while looking for help steeking my first sweater "Lopi Loford ". You took the fear of steeking out of my mind. I sailed through it. Thank you thank you thank you from New Brunswick Canada 🇨🇦 ❤❤❤
Hello Hélène, can I use the same method for steekin with Lettlopi, with all the ends of the yarns throught the middle of the steek stiches? I have just finished knitting your Maja Cardigan with Lettlopi, and it is my first time knitting a cardigan. So I am a bit afraid of the cutting...... Looking forward to your answer. I love your work, and plan on knitting more of them, but with Lettlopi and Alafosslopi 🙂
I watched and all I could remember was the tour with you in Oct 2015 and telling you that sewing machines and I didn’t get along. You said it would be fine...and then when you sewed it got all tangled up in the backside. I'm knitting the Kristylopi and I keep wondering how am I going to steel this...I have to sew it by hand🙈😂

Wow, thank you! I wish I could show you my sweater, almost the same colours. You’re a great teacher🧶❤️🌈

Of course you have to! but I did get a new knitting machine since then :-) ahaha!
Do you think you might be doing a video for steeling for a zipper instead of buttons
