Here in Australia if you are over 60 with a disability, you are denied any disability payments and are put onto looking for work. You are made to feel like you're lazy by your work centers. Most people with a disability are only asking for work that they can do with their disabilities. Why don't they arrange certain jobs for disabled people. Working from home or in the community, sitting with the elderly who are lonely, or perhaps delivering meals to others who are fully disabled, sorting mail, etc. No, here in Australia they expect you to find a job that any younger, stronger person can do and NOTHING not age or disability is taken into account. I have worked most of my life and when I was retrenched, I did volunteer work (which was heavy) until I could do it no more. My work center even tried to send me to a job where I would be packing shelves, using ladders and bending. I have arthritis in my back and groin and to do could result in me falling and hurting myself even more, or even hurting someone else. I was ordered not to tell them of my ailment when I went to the interview. Thankfully, I never got the position.
I been working in jobs for 21 years, getting screwed around by employers, abused by employers and people I worked with, very hard to get employment by ourselves.
As I've gotten older, have developed a mobility disability. Can't do what I was trained for anymore, but got lots relevant retail experience. After leaving my last job at my trade, went looking for something new that I felt confident I could do. 2 years of being flat out rejected, submit a resume online, get a call right away [ resume looks great ] arrive for an interview using my canes. Interview is over as soon as they see me! Good news I did finally find a job as a sales advisor, after 3 months I had top sales. Take that those that wouldn't even give me a chance, you lose!!
C.p.p disability program has paid me only 236.00 to 313.00 for the last 5 months during the cov pandemic. I'm in the hole rent clothes and with family members. Wow my own country is making me feel like a peace of crap . Human rights were ?????
About 70 percent to 83 percent of blind and visually impaired people in the United States are unemployed. About 1 in 4 of us blind or visually impaired folks are currently homeless and living on the streets. If you have secondary disabilities such as a mental health condition, it's worse.
I really like this video, I've been in this ladies shoes because I've had a 1000 job interviews and never got hired and have experience but when I turned to March of Dimes they helped me find the current job I have, society is the major issue and it's because it's expected for people to be "perfect" and not everyone is we all have something, if people who are differently abled are given fair chance we can work just as well as everyone else can and my job is awesome and my employers enjoy seeing me at the work place. How do businesses expect to have enough staff if they constantly deny hiring someone all because they are differently abled? good luck for society being stupid about everyone having to be "perfect" because it's not happening employers need to accept the fact that everyone's different and the more they loosen up with hiring a person who's differently abled the more everyone will have a job and there won't be so many people without jobs it's not hard to accept people for who they are as the saying goes never judge a book by it's cover.
1:24 David is 100% right governments all over Canada give companies insensitive’s to employ persons with disabilities and some employers do hire and employ a few people who have disabilities but not as many as they said they would employ and a higher number of those employers promised to employ a certain number number of individuals they hire half that and pocket the rest of the incentives.

the same challenge in ethiopia country but, the human right organization should find a solution for people who are not employed!! this is a human right against!!

You can access disability funding if you're truly disabled and have assets below certain threshold.

I agree as someone with a learning disability I went to job developers that claim to help find jobs but it doesn't work sadly.
What people fail to realize is that we are ALL flawed and NONE are perfect. Sheesh.
Not going to struggle in the slave trade for minimum wage, with my disability. .
I has a higher educations with mild disability and yet still no job in my choice of industry.

I'm having a hard time finding employment
because i'm a disabled
When I applied for a job at Starbucks, they turned me down, explaining... "We want to Draw customers IN, Not Drive them AWAY!"
You should file a complaint to their head office, that’s discrimination.
