Over a 1000bhp to just the rear wheels seems like it gonna be a handful even with the ECU based traction control. The iconic Tom's Supra also runs a 4 banger 3S-GTE in the race car instead of the 2JZ for weight balance. Thats a weird but interesting suspension setup there. Why they didnt go full on push rod and go that weird double cantilever hybrid sort of suspension?
You get pretty diminishing returns out of awd at higher speed with a lot of downforce. These tyres are also pretty overworked so anything to reduce tyre loading is going to pay off even more than in other categories. I love awd but the context I love it is a low speeds or in bad weather.
@@jcadlols Pretty sure the Motec/Haltech and other latest ECU have some sort of AWD traction control which can be made more rear biased. The Skyline ATTESA while old school by today standards was quite an interesting piece of hardware. Under hard acceleration, its only RWD. Only under cornering will the torque split to the front. Now there are gearbox control unit or GCU for short which controls the clutch / gearbox and diff systems. I am pretty sure we can make a solid AWD that is a monster both on dry and wet conditions.

Straight sixes are heavy, even with ally blocks. It’s always best to swap them to some engine with only 4 cylinders in a line. Maybe two banks of them. 😀
While it's impossible to argue the weight distribution will be better with a 4cyl.. if you wanna use a gtr run it as a gtr.. if u want a Evo run a Evo... They clearly do well at time attack.. seems a bit like fusion confusion, could have also started with a 20e she'll and saved 50k.. waste of a gtr

Actually think cause of the rules they could run higher boost on smaller displacement engines the rest was a bonus
I can tell this video is going to hurt my soul 🤣
It's worth it, enjoy! - Taz.
@@hpa101 was a great watch. Really cool build. I appreciate his honesty with the suspension set up. However would be cool to learn more as it is pretty unique.
@@KalvinMalli we'll be back again next year and I'm sure this car will be too 😎 - Taz.
Could never not have an RB in mine
Then welcome understeer with open arms when you track it
Lol. "A Honda, no I couldn't do that to myself"
People that hate reliability lol
haha yes he knows how to trigger a few people 😂 All in jest- Taz.
@@hpa101
He'll end up going K series eventually. Nobody can be that proud 😀
Why not a ca18? 3/4 an RB
Not many of them getting around these days haha.
I had one about 14 years ago in an s13.. feels like a lifetime ago but was a super fun car to drive with what was considered decent power back then (200kw).
Why not an FJ20 then? The original king lol.
Love a good CA though.

4g63 is the 2JZ of the 4 cylinder engine world, fantastic choice. I prefer the 4g over anything Honda just for the sound. Hondas just don’t sound good and the 4g63 just edges the Honda's out for being cheaper to make power with.
4g63 & 2jz are both engines man lol
Still the rb 4 me
Straight sixes are heavy, even with ally blocks. It’s always best to swap them to some engine with only 4 cylinders in a line. Maybe two banks of them. 😀
yeah, but is it better than RB28DETT Z2 ??
*it's just a joke
Should have k swapped it
But he wants to go fast
While it's impossible to argue the weight distribution will be better with a 4cyl.. if you wanna use a gtr run it as a gtr.. if u want a Evo run a Evo... They clearly do well at time attack.. seems a bit like fusion confusion, could have also started with a 20e she'll and saved 50k.. waste of a gtr
*K20 inters the chat*
So nobody’s gonna talk about the “go fat tits” sticker ? 😂😂😂
Speaks for itself doesn't it? 😂 - Taz.
@@hpa101 not wrong ! 😂
Love your work 👊🏾
S/O to Steven Crowder.
why not a 4b11 oh wait... i remember =D
I think RB engines are overrated shite. Complicated for no reason, poor oiling, poor cooling, and as a result, lousy reliability. I approve of this engine swap! lol
The RB26 doesn't crank walk... just saying
Surely someone has done a 5 or 6 cyl weld up of the 4G63? I ran there are millions of these things everywhere.
The aero is giving me the ol’ pants feeling.
Unfortunately it gave Chris that feeling too! The rear wing failed on the way into the fastest corner on the track. Luckily another team donated theirs so that Chris and his team could at least finish the event 😎 - Taz.

Why so much Honda hate, K-series one of the best NA engines ever, nevermind 4 banger
He was just kidding 😉 He also doesn't hate the RB26, he's set a world record with one - Taz.
i need to see it drive SO bad
We couldn't get any in-car etc sorry, but it was on the WTAC stream and if you look up the social media of some of the companies there you might find some shots. Sorry about that - th-cam.com/users/WorldTimeAttackChallenge - Taz.

A Honda .. they make more real race cars than Mitsubishity .. Kseries would be far superior, but you don't deserve Honda.
Why not just use a GTS r32? Waste of a GTR much?!
Who cares? Someone bought a car and is doing what they want with it 😎 - Taz.
My 4G goes nuts against some RB26s
Just K swap
Uhm, idk about this😂
haha fair enough! You don't have to do this, but I think Dom gives some pretty sound reasoning on why they took this path themselves to be fair. Time will tell if what they believe to be the advantages prove to be worth it on track - Taz.
But 4G63 engine note is kinda gay n NOWHERE near as nice as RB inline 6! ^o^;;
Yeah they're not just driving this to a carpark to bounce it off the limiter trying to drop some guys boxer shorts. It could sound like a wet fart and it wouldn't matter on the performance side of things - Taz.
They're both mediocre engines.
Way to go is. 2.0/2.3 built focus ST ecoboost engine! With the 2.3 internals! Proven to be the new 4g63
Oh you mean the engine that can't flow for shit beyond 6000RPM without extensive headwork?
No thank you, 4G63 master race
@@EVOFans well that’s why u have to use a 4 port head buddy!! Not the stock head! It’s not even the stock block! But still all ecoboost! I’m building a 1000whp ecoboost mustang right now! Using a sleeved 2.0 focus ST block , and a 4 port head that comes on the Range Rover evoque. Should be out by end of the year! Or early next year
The 4g63 will make way more n for half the cost. No sleeving the block needed cause it's still closed deck cast iron, heads ports flow plenty b4 porting, will rev with the best of them with proper valve train. And also has a bunch of years of development over the ecoboost engine. 4g63 is king of 4 cyls but people wanna forget n hop on the k bandwagon.
@@dsm_zo yeah your 100% right!! But hard to find a good evo nowadays.. I’m building a 1000whp mustang ecoboost right now, but not using the stock engine components! Using a sleeved 2.0 focus ST block, with the 2.3 internals, 4 port head off Range Rover evoque for more air flow, it’s a variant of the ecoboost engine. Everything is the best metals and parts money can buy! Like Callie’s 4340 enforcer rods, upgraded 3.5 rod bolts, 250wall h13 wrist pin, custom spec vct piper cams , with a custom turbo kit by ETS with xona 105-69s turbo. Should definitely give evos a run for their money. But yeah would be a lot easier to make that power with a evo. But when it comes to cost it’s pretty close
🙄
