Good review, Ive just placed an order for a Comfort model Dolphin via my companies salary sacrifice scheme, hoping its approved and delivered in around a months time, can't wait...
I am pleased to hear that the Irish don't like the pastel colours and they want "normal" colours as I think that it is the weak point on the car. Hopefully we will get "normal" colours in the UK as well, but hopefully not just black and white. I would like a nice metallic red or even better dark metallic green. My existing car will be 10 in January and if I need to replace it, the Comfort trim Dolphin would be a good contender.
@@NevoEVReviewIreland I had a nice leisurely drive back in the EQS SUV and made it home in time, probably because there were no pubs involved this week 🍻
I am pretty sure that it has adaptive cruise control. If you take your foot off the accelerator there is little regenerative braking and you need to use the brakes to bring it to a stop.
Whoops....you used kWh for the charge rate when it is only kW for charging power. :) I like the pastel colours to be honest nice to have something different and less boring. First deliveries in Australia have started already in November so December should be interesting to see how it goes with entry level starting under $40k AUD.
Great vid but I'm sorry to say, but the only thing I really like about this car seems to be the price... but I won't knock it till I try it. Derek would you know if there are any issues with charging an EV when you've got air to water heating installed in your house? I think I've heard they don't suit each other, what with their heavy draw on the old lecky. Thanks.
Thanks for the comment Richard. Price is definitely a factor. Regarding the air to water, with such a heavy load on both, I assume you'd need a power clamp fitted and the charger would ramp down when the heat pump is pulling a large load. Not an electrician so best to seek professional advice
I like the outside much more than the two tone paints on the higher spec vehicles. I can’t get passed the interior trim with 2 tones. It just looks frivolous and silly. Pick a colour for the trim and use that.
@@NevoEVReviewIreland The irony is you can’t order any combination, they don’t offer you a chance to “build” anything. That would not be much of a problem if their range actually catered for a range of tastes. Instead most of the combinations are best described as appealing to people who are likely to say “aawww how cute”. It is sort of a barby dolll aesthetic.
You can now Thomas. Just need to go to the SEAI website. Register for the grant before Jan 1st to get the full €600, drops to €300 in Jan. Need to know what charger you're going for
I just don't know what charger to get because I have no idea about them if I'm lucky to have av some day soon I think a 7kw would be best for me because I don't drive only about 10 miles a day thanks for your help
@@thomasflaherty476All the chargers for homes are 7kw at the moment and all are smart chargers but some come tethered and some come untethered. Basically with the tethered it has a cable that you just have to plug into your car but with untethered you have to plug into your car and the plug. It's just a matter of deciding which one you want how much you want ir can afford to spend. You pay the full amount to the company that does the installation for you which can be anything from a grand and up and then you get the grant back in 4 to 6 weeks.

Thank you for your review. I have just ordered this one for my company car.
Glad I could help
Great review, would love to see the Seal in the Design RWD trim as well, there's as many AWD videos out there as you could shake a stick at.
That's the plan!
@@NevoEVReviewIreland lovely! I have one on order but will need to drive it myself before I make the purchase.
Cheers mate great review
Thank you!
Good review. Might be interesting to do a technical comparison between the BYD & Other battery makers.
Sounds like a great video

Thanks for the comment. I think the colour options for western markets will be updated
As you said a lot of spec for under €30k. Keep the videos comming.
Thanks
Des
Thanks Des. Any decision on your side yet?
@NevoEVReviewIreland no. As long as the 08 honda keeps going I'm OK. But a secondhand ionic5 or ev6 is tempting. Waiting to see the hot mg4 price.
Price is out! from €42,995
And the MG4 extended range with the 77kWh battery is the same price.
Flip me Derek, I'm not long home from the launch of this and you have a video out already, some man for one man... good job sir 👏
Thanks Stig. It's a race with Nobby every time ha ha. We'll both get some sense some day. Did you make it back on time today? 😉

Thanks for the review. Has it adaptive cruise control? Does regen bring you to a stop, for one pedal driving?

Thanks Catherine. Yes, adaptive cruise control and strong but not one pedal driving.

It is, we just haven't had a press launch for it yet

I wonder will single interior colours be a choice

Looks well built. The price in China is half the European price.

Interesting
Interior looks a bit dated/Chinese.
Thanks for the comment Richard. I thought it was fresh and something different but beauty in the eye of the beholder
what do you mean "and chinese". Other chinese cars arent like these BYD cars at all. Have you ever seen any chinese cars?
