Sorry this comment is a little late...so who covers #2 strong when he crosses shallow? And if #2 weak does run a crossing pattern, who covers him? Do the safety's just pass them off? Thanks!

So is palms another name for robber coverage? I can't spot the differences in those two coverages.

Palm and robber are different. In palms your Sam is splitting the difference between the EMOLOS and #2 and your FS is over top 1 if #2 does a drag. In robber, your sam is outside of #2 and your FS is robbing backside #2 if the play side 2 is crossing. Mouthful there, hope your understand.

Palms is another term for 2 read. It’s completely different coverages. For the corner in robber. He is man on 1 no matter what. In palms. He is man on 1 until 2 takes him out.( trap) if 2 goes vertical he stays locked on 1 inside leverage. The safety in robber is 2 vertical if he runs a vertical. If 2 is in. He looks inside for an in or a dig. In palms he is man on 2 vertical. 2 goes in or out. He doubles 1. Robbing from post to curl. The over hang in robber is outside shade and is playing curl flat. Swing deep of three. In palms he is inside shade. He is wall player of 2. Can’t let 2 cross his face. And can’t let three out leverage him
