So...which of these trends are you ready to try again, and which ones are banned from your closet forever?!
I kind of h8 fashion trends. To me they make people look like sheep. Don't follow any trend. Make your own. Really? polka dots, naw this "trend" is done being as it, never really ever fully engaged a take off.
Some trends remind me of someone trying way too hard to make "fetch" happen.
Any way, as soon as the new trend explodes, there are twenty more to follow.
As for pedal pushers...
They are best suited for kids under ~24.
I want to see the thick belts with medallions. I predict ornamental type embellishments crashing into the scene, especially distressed metal and futuristic post Armageddon deconstructed looks with splashes of washed out colors. Not pastels but faded primaries.
I think mixes of both neutrals and colorful primaries, as well as mixed materials and textures will prevail.
Sustainability and durable long lasting clothing and accessories must be made more available for all.
Let's all re-create and experiment with our own original curated looks.?
No athletic wear in public…ever for me. In my opinion, very few can do it attractively. Again, that is for me. You do you.
Body suits. Snap crotch on a adult woman is not right
@@JLor-eu5oh 😂 they are all "been done"
I love peplums!
I love Bermuda/knee-length straight Capris!
I will probably get me some grandma heels!
I will not ever wear polo shirts! ❤your video!
Pretty sure the fashion industry waits until the majority of people finally throw out their outdated clothes to suddenly bring them back in style. 😂
Basically it’s hard to create something original. I think if you stick to classics you can’t go wrong
Lol seems that way .
It's true. just gave up my capris this year.
The thing is that they are back but not really in the same way. You can still tell which version is the dated and which one is the trendy one.
Truth. Recycle ♻️ hilarious spy on Poshmark buy, what not, Facebook, marketplace, and thrift store/charity.
I'm almost 50 yrs. old. I seriously stopped caring about " trendy" or " in style clothing years ago,and started wearing what makes me feel good or expresses who I am inside.
Not everyone looks good in what some people decide is TRENDY. Wear what looks good on you. The only reason styles keep changing is so designers can keep making more money!
I'm there with you. I stick with classic, conservative shapes and colors. They are always appropriate. I'm never faced with "I have nothing to wear".
@@Lovesapuzzle Exactly. This not only applies to clothing. I apply this to interior decorating. Any thing that a “designer” decides that you need to embrace. They literally try to tell you what you should like. Then they say the magic word! TRENDING! When I see that I go the other way because I know in 10 years it will be screaming OUT DATED! So you can get out your wallet and spend more money! 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩
@@Sweet-fn6po So true. My home decor is classic as well. I buy furniture that will wear out before it goes out of style. Pillows & paint are inexpensive options when I feel the need for a freshen up. A friend recently redid their family room. They put down grey plank floors. I didn't say it but I couldn't help thinking that, in a few years, they will regret that choice.
@@Lovesapuzzle That’s funny. Just one hour ago I was talking about that ugly grey plank flooring. I know of quite a few that did this. Bad decision.
@@Sweet-fn6po Great minds... I believe interior decorators are already saying that grey is out. I remember when they said wood parquet flooring was "dated". Now it's back in style. Years ago, my sister had all her original parquet replaced with new hard woods in the same tone. It was very expensive and, IMO, was neither an improvement or a detraction. It was just a change. At least she didn't put down grey planks.
Fashion is at the point that everything is in style all at the same time.
I kinda have to agree with on that it seems like kind of anything goes at this point which I love
Agreed
What I have learned as a 55 year old woman. I have seen things like stirrup pants come back around three times in my life. Learned I didn't like it the first time. The trends you love, grab classic colors and keep them. As you said, they will come back around. I wish I would have kept some of my big belts. They are coming back too.
I always hated stirrup pants which give you shapeless legs.
Hiphugger bell bottoms 😂 I wore them as a teen in the 60s & that wasn’t their first appearance. Same with capris, which always make me think of 50s Italian chic 🤗
I never get rid of my big belts and I’ve worn them even when they were “out” I also have a huge collection of ones that were my grandmothers too that I love
@@selectiveoutrage6617 But they're great paired with hiking boots (keeps the ticks from crawling up your pant legs).
@@gembearer67 I wear skinny jeans with tall boots in case I accidentally come across a rattlesnake!
Let's talk about the massive waste of cheap fashion, trends, and the corporate (not art) push to make us buy completely new clothes 4x per year.
Wear what you like and are comfortable in. Stop caring what other people think. That kind of thinking is just going to keep you in debt.
Thank you! People need to stop gatekeeping other people's closets, thinking they know what's stylish, just because they may look stupid wearing something.
Some of us think it’s fun.
I was blissfully unaware that capris had gone so out of style, so yeah, I'll be in trend on that score come the summer.
They are kinda horrible and make a person look old and out of style
@@user-by5fi3sp8hthey are horrid 😂 I’m 58 and literally never owned a single pair 😂
I love capris on other people but I hate them on me because I have short legs and they make my legs look even shorter 😅
😎😎😎
Trends are for the young. As you become older you should know your personal style and quit following trends. Stop wasting money on clothing that you are just going to donate. Wear what looks amazing on your body and comfortable for the season. Establish a collection of clothes you can pair in multiple ways and stop being so wasteful.
Great video. I agree that the pedal pusher/capri pant trend can be very polarizing. But I promise you, you were NOT around when pedal pushers were first in style. 😄✌🏽
I think I said “last in style” bc yes, I know I wasn’t 😂 and if I didn’t, that’s what I meant 🤦🏻♀️😅
😂😂 okay. Just checking. I have pics of my mum wearing pedal pushers in the 50s. 😮 I was clubbing in the late 70s and 80s and we definitely dressed like characters from Working 9 to 5. 😄😄
@@maxdminimalist715 even club wear vibes are cyclical then lol love it. But yeah totally agree with you on the pedal pushers being not so flattering. If anything I try to go for the longer ones but then it becomes borderline just a cropped ankle pant at that point
Absolutely 😊 But they keep trying 😄
Capri pants, pedal pusher, whatever you call them, it's a no. Xoxo 💕
Don't be calling them grandma heels. Some of us are 6' + and don't need or want to wear anything higher than 2".
I’m 6 foot and wore 3” heels because I loved them, even as a teen. If folks don’t like it…to bad. I dress for me and not you.
Girl own your height and tower over the mortals 👑
I'm closer to 5' tall and avoid heels over 2". Heels higher than that feel too unnatural.
I love my capri and pedal pushers for the summer and will continue wearing them. When something looks good on you, just keep it. Especially if its a classic. Advice from a 60yr old woman
Couldn't agree more!
i love them. i am gen x and they actually look hot on me.
@@taeghth1-wg9shsame. It’s all about finding the best length above your ankle so they flatter your legs like a 3/4 shirt does for your arms.
I'm in your age group and my legs have survived better than my other body parts. I'll wear shorts for as long as I can. I'm not very tall so, capris make me look even shorter. In Spring/Summer, I'll wear a dress, skirt or ankle pants when shorts aren't appropriate..
I really never realized that ballet flats went out of style? I never stopped wearing them. Ballet flats are not trendy, they are classics. They go with basically everything, pants, dresses, skirts, shorts, they just never look wrong with anything, and also are cute or offer a small elegance to any outfit. To say that ballet flats are out, is like saying boots are out, of sandals are out, and they never are.
Peplums and Capri pants are the worst
I love pedal pushers/capri pants. I started wearing them when I was 16. That was in 1976 😂 Trust me when I say they have been around for decades. They were popular even farther back than 1976. I’m thinking that they should probably be considered a classic by now LOL.
I agree! I think they are a basic staple now. I see Young & Older wearing them all the time. They have never gone out of style where I live. Everyone wears them. Casual to dressy. They have been available to purchase in stores for the last 20 yrs as well.
Pedal pushers/capris/clam diggers (now that's a name that goes way back, but are in the same genre) date back to the 1950's. Girls would roll up their jeans to achieve the look. My biggest pet peeve is not the pant style, but the hideous trend of wearing high heels with them. Who the hell thinks that looks good??? Ballet flats with anklets or without look far more cool.
"Clam diggers" I had some many years ago and my husband was teasing me saying I was wearing high waters and then when I told him they were clam diggers from then on he always would refer to them as my "clam pants "😂@@zethraelofteldrassil3149
@@zethraelofteldrassil3149 clam diggers!!! That’s what a pair of mine were called in 1976! As far as wearing high heels with them, that’s a terrible idea. I’m not a fan of heels to begin with. I’m 5’7 and back in those days that was considered on the taller side for women. I was self conscious of my height! I laugh at that now because i think I’m actually shrinking with age. Still, i identify as 5’7 and that’s just how it is haha.
I agree that sands or ballet flats look best with them.
I haven't worn capris since I was in primary school. They were pink with ruffles around the bottom. My sister had the same capris in blue. We thought they were high fashion but them again, we were kids and it was the 1960s.
Love that peplum tops are back. They’ve always looked good on me and that means I’ll be able to find some again
There are some really pretty modern versions of peplums out there right now!
they look awful on me. but because i'm tall and they look shorter on me. like ill-fitting. ha ha
Didn't know capri pants were ever out of style! I REFUSE to wear shorts in public, but a well cut pair of capris are cool and classy; a welcome alternative when the temp is near 100F, and the activity doesn't lend itself well to a skirt.
I never cared what was "in style," I like what makes me feel good, whether "trendy" or not. Been that way all my life. Nobody ever laughed at me.
As I’ve gotten older I feel the same way, but being a lover of fashion I still like to observe and talk about what’s current even if I don’t necessarily love or wear all of it ♥️
When I see ballet flat I am like, really that’s all I wear for the last 15 years!!! Lol
You’re a trendsetter then! 😜
As a (52 year old) woman who developed Morton’s neuromas in both feet from wearing heels/too narrow shoes, IT’S NOT WORTH IT! When your feet are messed up, your hips, knees, back can get messed up. I’m not even sure I could wear the “grandma” heels shown in this video, although they are super cute. Unless I have more surgery, and maybe even then, I’ll likely be wearing low, wide shoes with orthotics for the rest of my life. Please take care of your feet!!
Couldn’t agree more!!!
I worked a long career on my feet but never compromised on comfortable supportive shoes. At 58, I don’t have the issues my girlfriends are now having.
Me too ( well 53) I never wore the heels but I've got Morton's toe and bad pain in my right foot, so I can relate to that! I've got some unworn shoes that are 15- 20 yrs. old- this vid made me think I should get busy and sell them if they're back in style, for real, lol
Um..okay... I never stopped Capri pants. Granted I never stopped my baggy pants, skinny jeans, etc. I have always worn what's comfortable for me. I seriously never knew they were out of style.
Right!! I’m short so capri pants at the ankle or right below my calf look great on me…fashion trends be damned 🤷🏽♀️
@@dionnelynn I think my problem is, I have no clue what the trend is!
@invariablybefuddled4415 I don't care what the trend is. I wear what I like. I had a pair or cargo capris from 2007 that got worn weekly. I cut them off in 2015, and finally discarded them in 2021 after they developed holes. I do think I'm ready for another pair.
I wore peplums in the early 80s disco dancing. Still love them and I’m now 70 years old.
I also have fond memories of dressing up to go disco dancing. It seems like another life time.
My Mother was born in 1924, she was a young woman in the 1940's, when wide shoulders were in fashion, 1980's when the wide shoulders came back, she said " I'm not going to look like a fool again"😂 Polka dots are always nice, 1950's "Clam diggers" , look like a fool no matter what you call them! 1960's I'm a teenager, Shift dress, great but I don't weigh 95 lbs now, and Baby doll dresses so short that they sold them with matching bloomers, just in case you bent over, imagine your Grandmother now ,at any size wearing a mini with bloomers!😮😊
The first time pedal pushers came around was the 1950s.
Correct! The *last* time they came around, which is what I’m talking about, was the early 00’s :)
I have several rules of thumb when it comes to fashion....dress per your body type. Example, are you short waisted or tall waisted?A short broad body that is longer in the torso will look terrible in anything that cuts off height, giving you a squat profile. NEVER wear anything mid calf length, it's not flattering, regardless of your height. Go below the calf or above the calf depending on your body proportions. Some women can wear capris, trending or not, if they wear the right top and heel height, again for their body type. If you're short, dont wear flats. They shorten the leg visually. Flats are for taller gals that have mile long legs. And last, figure out your body proportion and dress in your own style, screw fashion trends, make your own statement, much more interesting than the predictabilty of being a trend slave.
I agree. I am tall and slim and could wear any style but that doesn't mean I want to. Some are hideous on everyone like those oversized boyfriend or daddy blazers.
Music to my eyes! Thank God someone is paying attention!
I wear capris all summer long, every year. I like most of the trends but i basically wear what i want that looks decent on me. Im older so trends have come back many times.
I’m older and short, I will always wear capri-pedal pushers, cause my legs have a terrible shape and I avoid shorts , anything that shows my knees, in public
They are know to make a person look shorter
You're right! I should have kept my high school clothes. 1978
These trends are circulating back so fast nowadays. Barely more than a decade seems very quick to me. In 2001 I wouldn't be caught dead wearing something popular in the late 80s. I am excited for capris to return (so comfortable in summer if you hate wearing shorts) and maybe I will have to give ballet flats a try this time.
So true. It really feels like it’s more on a ten year cycle rather than a 20 year cycle like it used to be
Finally capris are back!! Never stopped wearing though
I had a replica of the Pretty Woman dress and I absolutely loved it. It actually wasn't a replica though because I got mine a year before the movie was released.
Wow. I’m sure it was stunning!
I absolutely love Polka Dots. I have a gorgeous off white/black one that I will keep forever. Definitely classic.
I love a pop of color! It shows personality and gives interest to outfits.
I cannot wear ballet shoes.. I have super wide feet and they are too flat for me.. this, making it very uncomfortable! But I think they look cute on other people!
It takes the right personality and confidence to pull off a popped collar in my opinion... That being said I LOVE a good popped collar moment!! 💃
I agree. I like it more on a starched white collared oxford shirt than a polo
Capri pants work for me. If it's too cold for shorts, too warm for jeans, it is perfect. I like the cargo capri, it is great for amusement parks & festivals. No purse necessary. A pocket to stash your phone & sunglasses. Not the baggy gang look, unless you are a teen or 20's.
That’s true! They are pretty practical!
Omg STAHP! Now I know for sure I’m not the only one still obsessed with that Pretty Woman polka dot dress😹
I love it too!
I loved that dress and would be so happy to find one like it!
You'd have to be certifiably insane not to love that dress. The color, style and length was perfect.
@@NoOne-bp2jw 😹Yeah the color is so perfectly 90s. I’m still obsessed with all the neutrals & monochromatic schemes that came back around. Cream is like my black now I love it. It can be more work to keep it clean (esp the shoes) but black just feels more boring than ever to me last 5 ish years.
It is one of those iconic film costumes that I can never get out of my head and I’ve wanted one since the first time I saw that movie!
I love polka dots! I always have, they are just cheerful to me. I don’t love every one, don’t prefer the really huge ones. And I am in agreement, the brown polka dot dress from Pretty Woman is perfection.
I lol'ed when you said the polo trend was polo-rising!
😜
Too much talking
@@dawnholland8663 would you have rather I mimed the whole video then, dawn?
I love seeing different combinations of things that come back around. Where the whole ensembles of the past never show up again, individual pieces come back mixed with other things from the past, just different generations.
My favorites that come back around is very feminine dresses in light flowy fabrics.
I'm now 61 years old and I've finally come to a realization. Fashion isn't for short people. I'm 5'2" and pedal pushers are out for me (plus they are ankle pants on me). Mini dresses or skirts hit me below the knee. Ballet flats are a no no for me as well. Oh well. I enjoyed this video. Nice job.
Thank you so much!!! I get what you’re saying…but there is always the ability to tailor things. Even at 5’7 sometimes I need to have something hemmed here or there to make it look right
As someone who is 4'8", I find that the longer capris are absolutely amazing as pants on me 😊😊😊
I am 5 ft 2 and i ve never worried about it. I wear floor length skirts. Flats and capri pants. Its how you carry yrself not how tall you are imo.
@@patduffyforever But, my height is in my torso and my legs are very short. It's all about proportions to me.
@@Tracylynn62 yre right. Body shape makes huge difference to what looks good! X
POP! POP those collars!!! 😍
I agree with you about the Pretty Woman polkadot dress and after searching for years found one in 2012…still have it.
Lucky! Don’t let it go!
This is why you keep various pieces in the wardrobe, because trends change and items may come back! I've worn RLauren polos, with the very prominent crest, since my mid-20s, and still do so at age 64. I'm moved into the low heel/kitten heel style due to artificial knees, so no high heels over 2.5 inches 😢😢😢. Block heels, wide leg slacks, capris, a couple of polka dotted dresses/tops, and wide leg jumpsuits are still in my wardrobe from 5-20 years ago. The term " pedal pushers" was used in my youth in the 60's, so it was funny to hear you use it!! Great job😊😊
Thank you!!! I remember my nana used to live in RL polos when she was just hanging out around her house. Been on the hunt to thrift one of those iconic rl blazers with their crest on it for ages, keep hoping I’ll get lucky one of these days!
A good taylored shirt and jacket was a staple for me, loved the look 🤩
Great video! I think it's called a baguette bag because a "stereotype" of Parisians is that they carry their baguette under their arm or "armpit" just like the bag!
That’s right! Thank you! 🥰
You are so fun to watch! ❤Your sparkle combined with your knowledge of fashion history and American culture history make your videos so compelling to watch!
I loved wearing PEPLUMS in the mid-eighties! They can be flattering to those of us who are short-waisted, or have straight or rectangular shape.
Aww! Thank you Mary!!! Your comment made my day ✨🥰
Peplums are the best! So flattering and cutsie.
I just turned 74 y.o today and all the trendy clothes from 60’s until now still in my boxes in my closets. You know why? I am a hoarder 😊 but it’s true you can find bell bottoms, polka dots blouse, peplum, stripes sweaters, ruffles dresses all trendy shoes and hats are in my closet and garage.I kept it because I know those styles are going to come back.
At least you know if you did have a yard or garage sale, everything would sell out fast since it's so trendy.
When you first said there was going to be something very polarizing, I thought it would be capris. At 49 years old, I will never wear capris again because to me they’re associated with being older. I always considered polo shirts to be classic. It’s always interesting to learn what’s considered out of style that I may not have even realized was the case.
The only reason I don't wear polo shirts, is the collar. It is uncomfortable.
I guess for me I have to find the right polo shirt, ones that are more streamlined…otherwise I feel like I’ve raided my dad’s closet
Capri pants are so comfortable during summer. I'm really excited to see them back in style. I have been hesitant to wear them because the only women who i have seen wearing them are women above a certain age and I although I am above a certain age I don't want to be stereotypically old.
I keep my polo-style shirts and blouses in my closet, one of my go-to tops, I think they’re classy.
The fashion cycle is approximately every 25 years ... and fabric design houses create the color trends, which fashion designers shop for ahead of the season.
So all these "trends" are completely manufactured based on that cycle ... just look at how everyone teased Crocs and fanny packs until recently 😂 ... literally nothing changed except the audience perception (social media influences, celebrities, etc)
Just wear what you like and what feels comfortable and forget the trends. I spent $40k to learn the fashion business was NOT about design ... but marketing. 😢
lol I just pulled out my spring summer wardrobe and have plenty of capris bermudas and peddle pushers. Long wide leg jeans and cropped jeans and bunch of ballet flats polka dot tops blazer and skirt not matching. Stripes navy etc…. I think this seasons wardrobe is ready. Also natural linen skirt vest peddle pushers and black linen palazzo pants. Now all I need is the weather
Sounds like you are good to go! ☺️
I wish I had all of your storage space!
OMG!! I always wanted that Julia Roberts polka dot outfit too. I am still looking for a dupe.💜
Peddle pushers where popular in the 1940 and 1950
I recently saw some brand sell cutout shoulder shirts. I can't imagine anyone wearing those, and no brand should produce them bc they will just end up being thrown in the garbage
I still have one top like that that I’ve kept around, it’s 100% silk and really beautiful….but I get what you’re saying a lot of times those shirts do not look great 😂
@@MissMooreStyle if it's a quality piece I can see why you would keep it, hurts to let go of something 100% silk. I used to own some fast fashion items (when it was the trend) with cutout shoulders and even then I would've gotten so much more wear out of those items if they were just normal shirts instead
Pedal pushers and all pants above the ankle bone should be very slim fitting to look the most flattering. They extend your legs visually, unlike baggy, cropped pants which look like you've had a sudden growth spurt or shrunk them in the dryer. They also have to hit your calves in a spot most flattering to YOUR legs, not the same for all women.
Very true!
First time to your channel and love it. I'm 48 and following a lot of 50+ women but it's actually refreshing to have a younger voice. Your memories are hilarious as I was just thick in new mom mode in the mid-late 2000's so the entire world passed me by... and now I'm waking up going crap, how do I look on trend without TRYING hard to pass as younger, when I love my age. :)
🥰 thank you for the kind words! I love that you’re rediscovering playing with fashion now, and that I could be a small part of that ♥️
Polo shirts are very practical and comfortable as usually in cotton 🤷♀️ just my opinion
Okay I feel like I'm crazy, am I the ONLY one who vividly remembers the stench at the end of a day of wearing ballet flats??? I am NOT excited for that to return 😂
I love pedal pushers. But styled like the first time, they were cool
Im 65 and have lived through two go around a of the “capri”. Once in the late 70s ( called gauchos) and early 00s. Fun!!
Peplum yay! I’m all in!
1950s-pedal pushers. 1940s-polka dots. 1970s-ruffles, often with psychedelic prints. 1950s-early 1960s-ballet flats, followed by 1970s casual shoes in “ballet flat look.” 1980s-athletic fashion took off, and I’d say, took over as it has never waned. Peplums? On the runway and Oscars mainly, a flash in the 2010s, a masking faux-illusion that betrays you have something to hide. Baguettes? Practicality has always won out in the long run over bread shapes. Heels again? Go for it, ruin your feet, feel them ache. Didn’t our grandmas change that in the last quarter of the last century? Pointed shoes-so, so late 50s. Going back 70 years is the best they can do? Polo and collared shirts and scoop neck shirts switch roles all the time. Thanks for the fascinating review. The common sense of women kicked in hard in the 70s when the “fashion designers” in one decade went from mini skirts to calf length to above the knee to below the knee. All their shenanigans managed to do is switch many disgusted women from skirts to slacks. Flowing with the trends is fun-until it gets old.
This is why I love buying from Poshmark. Women selling the original versions of these items for a fraction of the original cost. However, I've never heard of mesh flats so I may have to pay full price. The extra $ will be saved by not needing pedicures! I've wanted the 'granny heels' for years so happy they are back, but I don't like block heels. I wish Queen Anne or French heels (many names for them) were more available. Feminine curved heel and wider base so more stability, unlike stilettoes. Thanks for the updates!
I don't like block heels either!
I love the Queen Anne heels
Queen Anne heels! That’s a much nicer term than grandma heels, thank you, I will use that from now on. Thanks for watching!
Pedal pushers first came out in the 50s or 60s. Be relieved- you’re actually not old enough to remember! I love them for their practicality and the way they look. Big pockets are an extra score but the 60s ones were more slim fit.
Hah I know I’m not. I said the last time they were in style, not the first ♥️
The question is NOT whether to pop collars, we 80s teenagers assure you that's a given. The real question is whether we layer them and pop the inner collar? 😁
I remember wearing polo shirts and blazers (instead of a sweater or jacket) to high school in the 80s. I am so glad that blazers have come back as an everyday item and the younger women are wearing them. Everyone looks smart and sophisticated in a blazer.
I have arthritis in my big toe and recently needed to have it pinned which means its been screwed together at the joint so it can no longer move . I'm 62 and the pain started around 50. Whatever they tell you to do for this, do it. You should be very careful about your footwear if your condition is the same as mine, Hallux Rigidus. It has had a huge impact on my ability to walk and exercise and caused daily pain.
I'm so glad polo shirts are back! I started wearing them again last year. They look really good on me, unbuttoned. I don't know why, but it's true. I'm wearing one right now. I have not been popping my collar.
I like the polo trend
I've watched a lot of fashion trend videos lately, having just retired and in need of some adjusting to the wardrobe - and this is an excellent informational and inspirational video (not to dictatorial either.) Thanks for posting!
I have a pair of black and white polka dot palazzo pants that I am going to get out of the back of my closet right now!
Thank you Donna!!! Congrats on your retirement! 🥳 those pants sound super cute!!!
Fun video, very nostalgic. I am embracing ruffles and I found a cute fun tangerine leather bag. Thanks for the memories.
If I got dressed in a suit, and rode a bike into town, like her @ 1:04, people would think I was crazy....😂
😂 she looks so happy doing it too. lol gotta love stock footage
lol, I have mild tactile issues, and popped collars bug me! Not on other people, but when I tried it I was always “fixing it”.
I just found your channel! You’re so refreshing and practical. Thanks!
Thank you so much!!! 🥹🥰🫶🏻
Oh please not capri pants, lots of older women wear them, have done for years and do not realise they are very unflattering, don’t think Italian women would even consider a pair . Love your style though , love that you remember the clothes you did have ,still remember clothes that I regret getting rid of in the 70s 😊
Glad I’m not the only one with decluttering regrets 😂 now i give a lot of the stuff to my friends so at least I know where it is if I wanna borrow it in the future!
I just found your channel and I love it! I think we are around the same age. I absolutely love those ruffle dresses when I was younger, but now that I am no longer a size 0, now closer to a size 6 or 7, I feel like those ruffle dresses are not flattering. They look good on people that are very slender. Which is probably why we left them so much when we were young!
So true! I’m also a size 6! Dresses made from just chiffon tend to not be very forgiving when you have curves haha I’m sure you get it too
I still wear capris their so comfy and look great on me
I'm so happy that you showed up on my TH-cam feed! Love your content and personality, thanks:)
Thank you so much!!!! 😊 I’m glad you enjoyed! ♥️
Omg the club wear 😅 I still have nightmares I’m clopping around 2:00 in the cold wearing neon office wear, no jacket and YSL Tribute stilettos 😂😂😂
So true 😂 luckily, living in LA, I was never cold but I still vividly remember my go to pencil skirt and peplum top combo
i just bought two ruffle pieces, two tops and they are both super cute. will be wearing these to work.
Sport clothing was around when I was in junior high school.
I’m 70, so I’ve gone through the fashions of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, etc. Everything is the same, just different names (we called them stretch pants, then stir-up pants, etc.) Shorts-Shorts turned into hot pants, then daisy dukes, etc. Ballerina flats were in style back in the 50’s, and then other years. Bottom line is keep your good clothing because they will always come back into style and wear what looks good on you. BTW, those little heels were called “queen heels” when I was a kid. They were the very first “heel” my mother allowed me to wear! 😂
I do love the sportswear and polo shirts. The rest of these trends I will pass on doing again.
I have held on to my favorite pieces from high school college and beyond because fashion cycles. I have already been busting out my capris and I wore a ruffle skirt yesterday to a swim award presentation. I have my flats too. I remember when I was in high school and we lived in track pants 😂. I kept a lot of my officey clothes in case I ever have that kind of job again. Now I wish I had kept some of those purses
Hey Miss Moore. Great video. Just subscribed. Ok so as far as the pop color question. Yes to the pop color, but its unique to the outfit. If the pop color looks good with the outfit then wear it. This to me is a timeless style trend because we all get bored with no pop colors. Again it just depends on the outfit.
Hey! Thanks for subscribing! Totally agree about the pop of color but the question I asked is are we popping our collars, it’s a polo shirt thing…like in the 80s/early 00’s :) I’m always popping some color for sure! ♥️

Have to pass on the popped collar. That ship sailed for a limited time only. 🤣
WOW, I'm so old, I've hit peplums twice and ballet flats three times.
I love baguette bags. This was informative 💕
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching Leah! 🥰
I love retro.
I love peplums! They are the best top for my rectangle shaped body.
That’s so interesting I had no idea some of these came back I recently wore my old chocolate brown Chanel ballet flats 🥿
Omg I wore the capris in 2010.. not again! Huge no! I am here for the polka dots, but not the ruffles that would make me look frumpy
Love polk dots!
As an old goth/punk woman, I'm so glad I have never had to care what others thought about what I wear or wore. Isn't life stressful enough to worry about what others are wearing? Or worryingg all the time about whether you are fashionable or not.
No, it’s not stressful at all. In general, I wear what I like and what looks good on me…some days I feel like being very girly, other days more classic, or more edgy or more masculine…I always love changing it up according to my mood and how I’m feeling that day, but I also love fashion and I like to keep up with and observe what is current, and decide if I want to play around with that or not. That’s all.
I don't know how I did it, but last year I sewed two dresses that are ideal for this spring. One is a 1950's style summer dress in a modern polka dot type print and another one is a chiffon ruffle dress in a light floral print. Loves those two dresses to pieces. But I must say that when I finished the chiffon ruffle dress and saw a video last summer on how that type of dress was dated, my heart sank a little. Now I'm happy.
I grew up calling capri pants aka petal pushers aka knickers. I remember them being super popular in the early 80’s when I was a very little girl. Same thought about polka dots being classic. Back to the rest of your vid.
Cargo Capri pants are good. The rest of the Capris can go.If it hits at the ankle or slightly above -fine.Calf pants are out. Embroidered jeans are in.Mini polka dots on black dresses are a spring fashion staple.
Brand new subscriber...thanks for the content! 😊
Hiiii! Welcome! ♥️
Ruffle summer night beach wear. Or small ruffle around sleeve or possible neckline
