Very nicely done with clear explanations. Any reason why I can't use the type of stich markers that go right on the needle? I have made many mittens in my day but have had to take a couple of years off due to making a move across country and then breaking my wrist. Looking forward to using this pattern! It will be especially good for the grandchildren since there isn't a right or a left mitten. Thanks!
Thank you! I'm glad this helped! You can use the on-the-needle stitch markers if you like; you will just need to place them before or after the stich that the marker would be clipped onto. 🙂
You can definitely close it with the Kitchener stitch. However, I really like to do it this way, as it reinforces the tip of the mitten in a little bit more. 😊
These are 36 inch (91 cm) long circular needles. You can use circulars that are a few inches longer or shorter, but the 36-inch are my favorite length for magic loop knitting.
Thanks for your question! This mitten uses US No. 3 and No. 5 needles and a worsted weight yarn. The complete (& free) written pattern can be found here: purlsandpixels.com/mitten-holiday-ornament/ Happy knitting!
If you click on this link: purlsandpixels.com/mitten-holiday-ornament/ it will send you to the free pattern. :-) You'll need two sizes of needles US No. 3 & 5.

Can you not close the top of the mitten using the Kitchener stitch?
You can definitely close it with the Kitchener stitch. However, I really like to do it this way, as it reinforces the tip of the mitten in a little bit more. 😊
