great idea to measure noise levels in the cabin while on the motorway!

Is the 150 bhp/110 kw version a higher output version to this model? It seems much quicker than the 90 kw 2 litre mild hybrid version I test drove in France.

G122 and G150 is same mild hybrid but G150 has different mapping in higher revs so it produces more HP

1:30 did the “check engine” indication lit up?

no, it's the speed limit indicator

Ahoj. Ako je to s kvalitou interieru na zlych cestach. Moc to vrzga klepe?

s kvalitou interiéru nemám nejmenší problém. Proti předchozím generacím je uplně někde jinde :)

This car or civic 1.5 sport?

    • @tsc666
      @tsc666 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

The Mazda is a class above the Civic in terms of interior quality and sound proofing, however, the Civic 1.5T is much quicker, more spacious, has independent rear suspension, larger boot space, better visibility, etc. The Civic can be considered as a family car too, while the Mazda is compromised in that regard. But at the end, i think most people would just simply buy based on the looks - both are really nice. :)

    Skyactive-G 150 has a stiffer clutch pedal.

yes, I noticed that 😢 and I have ordered 150hp 😞 I didn't pay attention to it. I just don't understand why Mazda did it, especially since the engines are identical.

nah the g150 is way smoother, then the first x180.

No way 130kmh 6.8l/100km must be lower than that
Wow only 71db at 160kmh that's lower than many cars.

it's 6.2 at 130kph, but it depends if you're driving uphill or on flat, or against the wind.

While I understand that revving to almost redline is required for an acceleration test, do you think this engine is designed to safely rev this high on a daily basis?
I am trying to understand how I am going to get all 150 horses out of this engine...and my last engine had a turbo so I am not used to revving so hard.

If you want to know how this engine might feel without driving it, check out its torque over rpm chart and put it in relation to the car's weight. Spoiler: VW's 150 hp TSI has more torque, particularly at low-mid revs. This here compares more to the 130 hp version at low-mid. At 4-6000 rpm it'll perform comparably to the tsi 150, since 150 hp = 150 hp = same amount of torque at same rpm (in this case around 6000).
Tl dr: up to 3500-4000 rpm it performs like tsi 130, from 4-6000 like tsi 150. For exact values, gear ratio and weight must be considered.

this engine is designed in high revs in mind

I actually have the car already. I've broken in the engine properly and now at about 2500 kms. Apparently the engine matures to full potential at about 4000 kms.
I just find it hard to think that it could be normal to almost redline the engine regularly. I am just not used to it. It certainly is fun hearing it wind out in higher RPMs though 😁 Maybe just some new "normal" to get used to.

@@PaulA-zp7hn Its because its a naturally aspirated engine. They require high revs to get into the right power band. Turbo charged engines have good low end torque, hence why they are more relaxing to drive, because they don't have to rev up high for optimal power.

    • @Digi20

Its a naturaly aspirated engine. Its fine to roll around at 1200rpm if you dont need power, but when you want to accelerate fast you go down three gears and use high rpms up to redline if you want. 25 years ago basically all engines used to be like this. its just in the last decade or so that (especially new drivers) are so used to turbocharged engines with all their torque in the mid-range that it takes some getting used to drive an engine with more linear power delivery.
