N453 on 8097 & 0098 V/Line Workshops Transfers & SSR's P11 shunting VN6- 7/7/24

Video from the 7th of July 2024 around the Bendigo North workshops catching another V/Line workshops transfer running up with N453 hauling set VN6 to the workshops for attention before returning light to Melbourne after SSR's yard shunter P11 had moved the car set clear.

For some reason the front of N453 has received a repaint, maybe collision damage fixed. They need to get a start on the Manildra Group loco's if they are to run later this year. Great work Brad, our man on the spot!

453 was involved in a crossing incident on the Warrnambool line earlier this year IIRC, one of several that have happened down that way in recent years.
They're certainly in no hurry to start work on those T's, maybe the rumours of hiring Graincorp 48's has put paid to that plan.

They'll be going longer than that, no way they're going to get the Swan Hill line up to Vlo standards within 12 months.

Still tonnes of unprotected level crossings on that line, and I very much doubt V/Line will be sending Vlocities up there given they would have to slow to around 40kph for every single one.
Even if they did, the backlash from everyone for the trips taking longer than they are now would be immense.

nice one mate, i wonder if the N set will be back in service again soon. Also wonder if they're been able to do much on the T's that they took up to Bendigo a few months back or Y157 and also those D vans last year that went up?

The T's and Y have barely been touched apart from the plywood door on T402. Some of the D vans were removed from their bogies and put on stands out back as storage sheds.

3VL100, was damaged in the North Shore incident a while back. Car 2100 from that set shouldn't be too far from repairs being completed.
