This is one of the first products I ever bought and probably one of the reasons I fell in love with doing my nails with dip powders. Azure has great products!
Azure was my very first dip kit back at the beginning of the pandemic. Mine was quite different though. It came with 5 full sized liquids (bond and brush saver) and 3 bigger colors and a clear. It also came with an orange stick, a normal sized file, and a cuticle oil. It was pricier though. I think because of the big liquid bottles. I loved it though and used those liquids until they ran out and I started trying small businesses
I have been looking at this kit on Amazon, so thanks for the review. Also, thank you for featuring your short, natural nails. As a guitarist I keep my left hand fingernails very short, but my right hand nails are a bit longer. It's good to see gorgeous manicures on short nails 🥰
I started out with Azurebeauty from the beginning and have purchased several kits from them. I love them. Right from the start of doing my own natural nails these worked perfectly. I have about 135 of their powders now, but I have since bought a kit from 4 other companies (Saviland, Candy Lover, Neptune and Unibouti). I have had success with them all, but I continue to use the Azurebeauty liquids for all. They have proven to work the best for me. I do use a nail fan and a mask because I do suffer from the dip flu. I highly recommend this brand. Thank you so much for sharing this review with us!
What is the dip flu? I've seen people say this a few times. I just used this dip kit for the first time on Saturday and was sick on Sunday. I'm still sick today...4 days later with flu like symptoms. Don't know if it's just a coincidence or what but seeing your comment has me questioning...
@@Kimberly_Crowe I didn't know what it was either the first time I got sick. It felt like a cold but only affected my sinuses but didn't get better or worse for a few days. Basically, some of us have a reaction to the liquids that are used with the dip nail powders. It seems to mostly affect the sinuses, but I also believe the fine powders can cause asthma-like symptoms if breathed in too much. So, since I refuse to give up the dip powders, I use a nail fan and an N95 mask. Since using these 2 items, I havent had any "dip" flu symptoms.
@@susansieracki4369 oh wow! I had no idea! I started coughing on Sunday when I did my nails on Saturday. 🤔 Now I really wonder if that's what it is?! I'll have to wear a mask next time. Thank you for telling me!
I am trying to grow out my natural nails after years of acrylics. This is super easy and I used only items in the package. My nails are short so they fit in the powder fine. However, if I had long nails it would be difficult to fit. Very pleased and will buy more. No more salon for me.
I ordered the low odar Azure base and activator, it really is low odar. The base is liquid nail glue, it drys very quickly, so dip quickly. I did get a set of six Azuredip pink colors, I’m not convinced it covers well enough. The light pink took 4 dips and looks decent, but not like yours looks when you finish. I’ll keep going, and will say you are a great instructor, I’ve done better after watching your videos. Thank you!
Thanks for this Marla! I bought the kit and was very impressed. The liquids went on really nicely and I like that the bottles have a lip so the liquid is not flooding the neck of the bottle. The powder is more crystal-like than what I’m used to however it covered beautifully. I only needed two dips (darker color) for full coverage. Thanks again Marla for a great affordable suggestion. You never let us down! ♥️ Next on my list is the Modelones pudding gel to try! 🌺
So cute! Thank you, for the sound check. That was informative. I got l one of their kits last year because of a review and was really impressed. Mine had a 2in1 base/top coat that I like a lot.
I got it for 22 bucks (Spring Summer starter kit) and cannot wait to get it tomorrow. The reason I am going to start doing my own dips now is because I am sick of nail techs doing a poor job. Skipping the manicure and still charging me for it and misshaping my nails. My latest one has been just a week and it is lifting and chipping. I will practice and perfect my own routine. I opted for the dip because the gel is not strong enough and my nails tare in hurtful places. Thank you for the review.
Thanks for the tutorial! I bought a 5 color set of AZURE in 2020 and I really like it. My only issue was they would crack off in pieces the next day, but I didn't double dip like you did, so I'll have to give that a go!😊
@@MarlaKris I think it's great, as long as I wait enough time, I've smudged often. But I won't go down the gel and light box road, this is enough for me!
I was really glad to see you do the review on the Azure, it is the dip powder I use (I had bought Tough Girls and I loved the colors but think it was a little too tough as it would crack the minute I hit my nails on something, I digress). My first kit came with clear dip powder and the small liquid bottles. I have since bought bigger bottles and they come as just a 2 for set, base and top is the same bottle, I believe you have said in the past that base and top are the same. I think any issues I have had are just from inexperience. Glad you like this product and the glitter was really giving princess vibes.
Yep base and top are definitely interchangeable. Sometimes user error plus a part, sometimes it’s the products. Either way, I’d encourage you to give it another go!! 🙌🏻
Azure was my first dip kit. Although I have the kit you picked up. I used it for Halloween last year lol The bottles have changed that come in the kit, but the bottles that you buy separate are the nice ones, idk why they are no longer in the kits. Modalones is exactly the same. 🧐 anyway, I am an Azure fan for life.I buy dips from other shops but the majority of my colors are Azure. Thank you for the review! I really enjoyed this video, you got straight to the point, I liked that. Till next time, take care of you ❤

I recently bought this kit (different colors). Your tutorials are so helpful! I wonder if they heard you because mine did come with a block and also one of those white containers to dip powder. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Marla! Thanks for another great video 🌸😊 Do you use alcohol on your lint free wipe after the first activator application? I noticed you said for the second activator application you only use a dry lint free wipe..
Hey love! Nope. You don’t wanna use alcohol or anything that might remove the activator, as that’s needed to cure the dip top coat. Just a dry wipe or paper towel! 💞
Good to find out that these powders work well for you (if the work on you, they work for me I've found lol). I've gotten a couple of kits that also have cuticle oil, so they are out there, but I have my favorites and probs wouldn't use them anyway lol. I give those to my daughter! 🤣🤣 Thanks for another great vid!
I never knew about dip flu.. I just started dipping my own nails and I would have a stuffy nose and breathing problem for a week after I did them. I thought I was the only one to experience this.
Hi, Marla. I'm so happy I found your videos before I started dipping. I'm new to dip powders (just finished my second application and very happy with it), and your tips have definitely made this possible. One question, I think I heard in one of your videos that we can skip the top coat altogether if we want the matte look. Would that affect the longevity of the nails? Or is the top coat only for shine and doesn't make the application last longer?
Hey lovebug! Yes! You can skip the top coat but if you want to add that layer of strength and seal everything in, do your normal glossy top and just buff the shine away 💞
I wonder if your dip kit doesn’t come with a clear could you put a layer of dip base down and let it dry and then go in with a second coat and then dip a glitter. Would that protect the natural nail?
The Azure instructions do not say to do two applications of activator. Only one coat to cure the powder before filing then after filing and brushing them off do two coats of top coat. Should we use activator twice? Want to make sure I’m doing it right.
@@MarlaKris my markartt top coat turned into a solid gel mess after one use 😂 I dip all the time and definitely know how to “prevent” that but used it one time and then it had to be thrown away, such a waste. @@MarlaKris yes i did two coats of powder , on my natural nails , i have thin brittle nails , however i did a new set and i did 4 coats and now they have bubbles and wouldn’t dry properly
@@OmarOmar-hi3ng ok that’s super helpful. I would advise to split the diff and do 3 coats of dip and then apply activator liberally twice to make sure it’s fully drying all layers. Give it at least 4-5 min before trying to file
I tried this today, I do the base and dip it, but when going to brush the excess off it’s smears everything and makes clumps! Maybe there’s too much base on mine?
It’s probably a combo of too much base and/or it’s still too wet when you’re brushing off excess. Dry dipping again if it still looks wet and waiting a couple seconds before gently dusting off
