I think it's funny how people complain about being "skewed too high" because almost everything is A or higher. What they don't consider is that most tier rankings include an entire population of something (video game classes, characters, etc), whereas the inputs for board games will inherently be biased by design. As professional gamers, you know what you want and what you like, and can usually judge a game by many factors before playing to know if it's one you will enjoy - the more experienced you are, the more likely it is that you'll skew towards higher tiers because that's what you're aiming for to begin with. Garbage tiers are usually obvious to gaming vets, and those get passed up. Good for you on having a year of stuff you enjoyed so much!
Sad to see Redwood and Bonsai so low for you guys! Got Redwood for Christmas and loved it but my wife did not enjoy it at all, so I get it. But Bonsai is a quick relaxing one that I also find a good challenge in. Regardless, love the list. I like these because I keep an eye out for some of the higher tier games.
Other than ARCS, I agree 100% with your S tier games! Doomlings is a fun game and just because you can find it in a large grocery store doesn't make it bad. Hehe, I actually paused the video at one point to try and figure out how to make the ad go away - I thought it was on my computer and couldn't understand why it was there.
@ think we will need a video review about it to prove it;) Show David and Trevor some love. Did you see David Thompson talk about his top 7 board games on Zilla Blitz channel?
Asking for Acquire for my bday and the game is legit incredible. Hope we get to play it together one day! Also, I do think Rebel Princess lives up to the hype. I’m glad you liked TTR Paris, I just gifted to my in-laws ❤
If you’re comfortable sharing, what was it about Weirdwood Manor that prompted the D rating? I’ve only played it solo, and I’ve enjoyed it, but I almost get the sense it drops a notch as multiplayer. Love the list!
Surprised to see boba mahjongg in D. I am loving small card games that play well at 2 at the moment. I agree that sea salt and paper is the best of them all. I do really enjoy bob mahjongg for what it is though. The scoring is really clever and adds a lot to what would be a very basic game otherwise. I also really enjoy pixies, the cute artwork really helps and it has some interesting choices. I just recently ordered kompromat and am excited to give it a try. I don't think it will get as many plays as the ohters, but I enjoy having a good rotation of small card games to keep them fresh. Always come back to sea salt and paper though. Gorgeous art, so quick and simple, yet many different strategies you can play. Also love games that play at multiple player counts where you dont have to do anything to the deck, no sorting and removing cards, just shuffle and play. All that in a tiny box, absolute genius and you can play it practically anywhere, KAY!!!!!
@ it’s in my top 100 but i was a little underwhelmed from my expectations too. I have issues with parts of the production in general and big issues with how the company ran their kickstarter. And while the game is shorter than TI4, unlike ti4, it outstayed its welcome a little bit. Still in my top 100 though because I liked a lot of the mechanisms they introduced in the game. I’m usually pretty lenient about crowdfunding campaigns because I understand unexpected negative things happen. It’s the first and only time I’ve ever been upset with a crowdfunding campaign.
Sorry you weren't invited to Cacao, but apparently I like to skip Jeff's turn too. 🫣 Sorry Jeff! I feel like both Faraway and Let's Go to Japan play in a similar way because you are trying to order your cards just right so you can actually score the other cards that come after.

trueee and we just genuinely love most games we play haha
These are among my favorite videos that you all do. Just a mess of games and quick remarks about each one. Just so fun and satisfying.
I really liked this!! Should totally be a yearly thing. The rapid fire summary was very cool. Also neat to see how your taste changed over the year.
Good idea to do it yearly! I always like it as a way to look back!
Great Video. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on all of those games.
Great video guys! Love that Panda Panda is an A. This style of video is so nice for my brain. I love quickly learning thoughts on so many games 😂
You and me bothhhh
“I just said Jamie!” 😂😂 sassy dramatic Jeff is my favourite Jeff
The sassiest!

Yes!!!! I love your tier ranking videos!
Great video and wow so many great games! - haha "get rid of that ad" best part
😂😂
Tbh I’m surprised that you didn’t have more S tier games. I expected Jamie to have way more 😂
I surprised myself haha I was very restrained that day
Other than ARCS, I agree 100% with your S tier games!

I've played like 3 of those games 😅 But you gave me a lot of games to look into!
So much to discover!
Generally agree with the list, but personally think Castle Combo is a gem of a game
I really liked it! I think it may just need a few more plays :)
C for General Orders?! Shocked. I think it packs a lot of punch in that little box. Great decisions, easy to teach and quick to play.
We do enjoy it!!

TTR Paris is a great gift, I feel like it's on my roster now as "games I gift" ha
Yall are great

I'm not sure exactly what it was, but we found it kind of fiddly, and maybe it tried to do too much? It also just could have been the play!
It pained me when you put Salton Sea at C tier. That, Arcs and Inventions: Evolution of Ideas were all S tier for me this year.
To be fair I (Jamie) would have put it much higher!!

Was wondering if you could expand on your thoughts on Gest of Robinhood?
That was fun 🎉
Oh no! A couple that I purchased and had high hopes for are in D!
You may still love them!!
Yes Jeff is 100% correct Arcs is hands down an S!
What did the two of you not like about Last Light? that seems to be a pretty hot take from how much love the game has received.
The rulebook was pretty rough and no one around the table was really having much fun, it felt maybe a little too clunky for us!

Really hoping this year will be the year you try Summoner Wars 2nd Edition
Could be!
Did you first play La Boca in 2024?
No 2023 for that one!
Where can we check the finished tier list?
Where's fromage? Did I miss it?
1000% left it off the list buts its S Tier!

"Let's go to Japan" is for sure a "A" game. it is one of those games that need to be played with a physical copy.
Yeah I remember loving my in person play and then it got dragged down a bit from BGA!
Arcs = C at best ha! I really dont understand the hype.
A C for you! An S for Jeff, game opinions are 10000% subjective ha

They totally do!!
