I've been looking for a good thriller. I always say "I'm not into thrillers" but also acknowledge that I haven't read many and didn't know which ones were good. Thank you so much for the recommendations. I'm definitely going to read' a few of these books.
Then She Was Gone is probably my fave Lisa Jewell 🙌 i really wanna check out False Witness but am a bit worried cos i really didn't like Pretty Girls - not cos of the violence but because i thought it was repetitive, way too long, and not twisty at all imo
Her books are definitely long, and I agree with you that pretty girls isn’t my favorite. I’d recommend trying the Grant County series!! The first one is called Blindsighted.
I always see older Adrian McKinty books at my local used bookstore. I noticed because I saw the most random title, “Police at the Station and they Don’t Look Friendly,” 🤨. And I realized it’s the author of The Island and The Chain! LOVE Catherine Ryan Howard!
I read 56 Days and The Nothing Man. I liked them both and look forward to her new one. I also read The Island, and The Chain. I heard Last House was supposed to be exciting. I don't enjoy horror but I love thrillers-- my favorite genre! Thanks for a good live. Karin Slaughter is also one of my go-to fave authors! I had to edit this, which I wrote before she finished, I also read The History Of, and enjoyed it. Though I'm probably old enough to be your grandma I find your suggestions very similar to my taste.

I rated A Simple Plan a 3, but it was because the despicable characters and the horrible spiral. That being said, I kept reading and I'm guessing that the author planned for the reader to feel that way. So... was it really a 3 for me? I don't know. What a disaster!
Looks like I discovered this one's channel too late! Damn all these disappearing BookTubers... A Simple Plan is such a trip -- the book is like if the movie went on twice as long, and things just kept getting worse and worse; I think it DOES tip over into being a little too much eventually, but damned if reading this book isn't like watching a group of people slowly sink into moral quicksand, where EVERY decision they make makes their situation worse instead of better. I wish Smith wrote more.
