I have to do my canon s-95 so now I realize its quite a breeze. A couple minutes will be worth it rather than throw the camera out. On the ribbon connectors can you please say how they come out--where did the puncturing risk and denting take place? Will I be pulling straight out?--sideways? up? any info helps. I will let you know how it goes after watching your video I estimate it to take a minute possibly 2 or 3. Good video you win the award man. As it went on and on I was astonished. You have balls as big as grapefruits.
Thanks Jeff, but it was either clean the sensor or replace the camera. If it worked, it saved me the cost of a new camera. Still going strong and the go to for the wife. The connectors just pulled straight off the following the path of the ribbon cable. So just straight on / off. I thought it would be tougher so I tried to pry them gently with a pointy object that when I slipped, made a dent. In hindsight you could probably just pull on the ribbon cable. I just didn't know how well they were attached to the connectors and how well the connectors were attached. Mine were just a lightly snug fit at best. Thanks, it was these types of vid's that I was searching for before I tried it. So, like you said, every little bit of knowledge helps.
OK I bought a ixus 100is with dust problem, but decided not clean it

Wow... that looks like hell. I have a few that are peppered... but no way do I have your patients!!!
Yeah, patients is key and don't blow the screws off the table when your face is right down low trying to see stuff.
I have error in camera canon sx280 the error E32
Good luck with that. I'm just a guy who figured he'd take his camera apart as he had nothing to lose.
