      The Great Ayrton Senna in Donington Park with his inferior McLaren [ 1.5 slower than the Alain Prost Williams by Adrian Newey, in April 11 1993, in GP of Europe, [ His first lap has a commemorative plate there] in lap 25 lap every body. Yep, Norris makes too many unforced errors. Imagine he actually hit the wall in Singapore, with such a giant lead. I don't know if it is a lack of concentration, but he should not make such mistakes when in the fastest car. Lewis never did, Max never did. Max was absolutely perfect in 2023, because he did not need to give it 110%. His mistakes come, just like with Lewis in 2021, when he is under pressure and no longer in the fastest car. Again: Norris does make such mistakes.
      Unless Lando gets the best car by far, he will not become WDC anytime soon. If anything, Oscar may take that title next year, when he has matured a bit more.

    Great video. I thought you also added in your previous video that his short corners allowed him easier cornering and his braking kept his tires warmer (radiating energy) to keep his tires with more grip. This explained why Lando with a better car/larger downforce (but colder tires?) and longer corners (less grip) was not able to replicate this performance. But the big add in this video is that max is just so mentally strong - he does not let pundates "Max is out of control" views live in his head and keeps focussed.

Viva Las Vegas next race. I live in California- would go to race but unfortunately the big hotels buy up all tickets and make you buy a package from them: room, seats $5,000 person low end. Or just a ticket $1500 . Since it is night race I will watch on tv as get better all around view of race. I have been to Austin, and Hockenheim 2018. But in US after Covid tickets are crazy expensive. Sad because I would go. Cheaper to fly to Europe and watch race than go in Us.

    The fact that Max knows how to handle a racecar in the wet is because his dad (the demon everyone hates) taught him how to handle a racecar in the wet. Sometimes with a carrot and sometimes with a stick. Nothing wrong with that (I'm Dutch, maybe we are tougher than the snowflakes who think Jos was a bad father).

    Max is one of the few that can give really valuable information about the car to the engineers.
    Most drivers just complain about the tires, oversteering, understeering, or brakes.
    Then they need to rely solely on the engineers to make the changes and adjustments.

    Mclaren and Lando was totally oblivious about Max because he was starting at the back. Their strategy was to cover George Russel, after he jumped Lando at the start and led the race. McLaren only realized that they made a mistake when both Redbull of Max and Alpine drivers stayed out. When max led the race, McLarens did not have any answers and Lando started to fold and commited several mistakes because Max pulled a Maxterclass race from start to finished and the rest as they say, is history.😂

    Were it the words of Lando, that "Should have Max started from pole, he would have doubled all of us". Correct me if I'm wrong.
    Apart from that, I really like it, that (although obviously British, more likely even English) you don't have this negative attitude at Max as a lot of (British) drivers, papers and even officials. I didn't hear much of criticism by those people, when in 2021, I believe, Hamilton drove Max off at 300+ km/h at Silverstone and not even asking if he was OK. And then the last race of that season: Obviously Lewis Hamilton should have become world champion, but than again, Max made the most of a discutable decision of the, what'd you call it, race principal? The guy who was fired later. Of course, he often searches for the limits, but isn't that what all drivers should do? Remains the question whether all drivers are searching for the same limits. I doubt that. Here in 2024 we saw about the same 'pushing the limits' as he did in 2016 ("...this boy finds grip anywhere..."; according to some commentator; I don't know his name.)
    Fine job!
    Greetings from Netherland. (Sic; no 's'.)

    Super Max!
    On a sarcastic note to Norris, let’s list the luck Max had:
    1. A Dubiously timed red flag in Q2, and staring 17th on the grid.
    2. The number of overtakes Max had v/s Norris because other drivers whom he overtook were just unlucky with rain letting Max overtake.
    3. Max was lucky to keep his car perfectly aligned on the track and lucky not to have any spins and swerves on the track where as other contenders were unfortunately unlucky to keep their cars on the track.
    4. Max was lucky to have his RB team and the entire universe as a supportive force that aligned with him, especially in forecasting rains and assessing drivability. Again Max was lucky that they didn’t make a mistake to pit early. Other teams were not lucky with no support from nature and universe.

    Excellent breakdown of how Max drove a masterclass drive in Brazil. You would think smart people (drivers) would look back at his drive in 2016??? Oh well I guess they are not smart enough, and would not be able to drive as Max did on both occasions.
    Martin- what are your thoughts on McClaren ( Norris) taking a new ICE before end of season? Would be 10 places for Norris? Also- I think that Marlo - explained a few races ago in Mexico. That Max was 10-12 kmh slower than Norris on straights, and that they were in need of a new ICE. It did and has paid off for Max. So is it in the cards for McClaren for a new ICE? It is game over for Norris anyways with WDC.

    I saw Max taking tighter lines and clipping curbs during the race; why would that impact downforce and the different way in which it's generated by the floor though? 🤔

    • @lowerlaptime
      @lowerlaptime  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Its basically saying that "I dont value minimum speed and wider lines to keep downforce alive" ie these cars generate a lot of downforce in the upper speeds but not much in the low end. So therefore Max values more shortening the circuit a bit and finding cleaner, less- rubbered in traction zones. Good question see my pinned comment for more.

    • @divinasi0n
      @divinasi0n หลายเดือนก่อน

      @lowerlaptime Ohh okay, so Max is actually trading the greater downforce generating wider arcs in the slow corners, for tighter lines where the better traction is on the circuit? And the downsides of that strategy are less significant because in general, these cars generate less downforce at lower speeds..?
      Edit: just watched your new video, looks like the better exits allow for higher downforce in the following mid/high speed corners as well.

    Excellent view on matters as they are. Not a single mistake from Max, a heap of mistakes of Lando, a very good race of Ocon. Max, on top of a very high mountain, others (including Lando) halfway the mountain. Where absolute excellence is proven, where ‘close but not close is obvious. However, Max is not there yet. Few more races to go. Lando was very disappointed direct after the race (who wouldn’t) he will be on realistic ground today. It is quite clear, he isn’t ready to defeat Max (yet). Lando might be better than the rest but hasn’t the the touch of the magister. Max and Lando in equal cars, it will be Max over and over again, and that doesn’t take away anything of the very high skills of Lando.
