One thing you learn from this hobby is how quickly things can change, the mundane and ordinary that you take for granted can suddenly be consigned to the history books almost overnight.
Glad the video was useful. I did consider building a model of that area as well some years ago but a lack of space, time, money and energy means it never happened. I always though it would be a good subject to model due to wide variety of traffic that passed the junction. I would be very interested in seeing any pictures or videos of the layout.
@@LinesideSouthEast building to test out the new tt120 from hornby so awaiting bits. signal box coming on well. tanksy has provided the workings and real time viewing too.
Sad to see all those excellent vantage points consigned to history. Used to love visiting Acton Main Line before the overheads went up. Spoilt forever now.
@@LinesideSouthEast How long have you got? LOL well we were sent the wrong turn at a triangle so we ran round, fuel was low at Chester so an hour late restart there. on arrival at Wolverhampton then ran round to go back to Stafford then ran round again for Wolverhampton because of wires down?, then we passed Birmingham New Street without stopping to swap a guard. so at Nuneaton we had to wait over an hour for a new guard to arrive. on arrival at Bedford we were booked to go across to Bletchley flyover for Oxford which we all needed for any Class 50, but the all the signal boxes were closed as it was after 23.00. the train crew didn't sign into St Pancras or so we were told so they said join the last HST into London. we refused as the stock would still go to Old Oak so we knew they signed the road to Cricklewood at least. the SM for Bedford said he would call the BTP if we didn't leave the train, with the above stuff we endured we said call them and we will call the press with the details so nearly 2 hours in a fresh crew was found as ours were now out of hours and we arrived in St Pancras around 2 am with taxis all over London and one bound for Weston Super Mare. great day though one for the books.

Agreed, glad I got to record how it used to be before it all changed.
That Court Chester shot I that's me at the front window spoiling your shot, sorry good day out that was until the evening.
You didn't spoil the shot, a bit of human interest adds to the scene. What happened in the evening to spoil the tour?
