- Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives (1986) The Filming Locations in 2021 - The 35th Anniversary. This is my experience and documentation of my visit to the filming locations of my favorite Friday The 13th film. I had “Camp Blood” all to myself! This is my version of the then-n-now scene comparisons for the filming locations in Covingington, Rutledge, and Madison, Georgia. Camp Blood had a new name, Camp Crystal Lake becameCamp Forest Green! In reality, Jason Voorhees was sunk to the bottom of Lake Rutledge at Camp Daniel Morgan in Hard Labor Creek State Park of Rutledge, Georgia.

I got in touch with Thom Mathews (the actor who plays Tommy Jarvis) through Facebook and he told me that the burial location of Jason Voorhees was filmed at an entirely different location than the actual cemetery filmed in this movie.
This is the best filming location video of a "Friday the 13th" entry that I've seen. Thank you for all you do, TJ. As a loyal "Friday" fan, I salute you!. Parts 6 and 3 are my favorite installments.

The New Blood was my favorite because of how vicious Jason was. But this installment was my definitely my second favorite. Good job on this. Those cabins are beautiful with that land.
But sadly they had to cut a lot of the gore in this movie

I love how they used to shoot these old classics on location. You can go there and watch the movie and walk around like an empty 40 year old movie set.
So great to see you again, brother and in Covington! Funny the sheriff station was the Sparta police station lol. The travel agency/Magnolis cafe where you did the two wheel turn at the stop sign lol;). Covington is one of my favorite places for Dukes and Heat!🤘

I was 8 years old and Friday the 13th part 6 was my first and favorite one of them all. This brought my tears to my eyes still seeing these same locations are still here.

Absolutely agree, part 6 is the best Jason movie hands down, I have a lot of nostalgia for this movie and to be able to see these locations today is absolutely fascinating, the 80's were awesome. Great video man loved it !!

Great video! I love that you do these filming location videos! And when you mentioned the Alice Cooper song, I started singing “He’s Back (The Man Behind the Mask)”...such an iconic movie song. My mom loved Jason Lives
I grew up 30 mins from that area. I lived in the ATL area until I went into the Army. All my family lives around there still. It's a pretty cool thing to know about. Plus, it's my favorite sequel due to the performances by Thom Mathews/C.J. Graham who played Jason, the 1st official zombie Jason too. The 1 part where Jason looks fatter in the woods too, that's not Graham. That's the original guy who was hired but the director felt he didn't look right as Jason, due to his weight. So Graham got the job! Good thing too, he was awesome as Jason. The scene where the RV crashed, he really did knock that door open too.

Awesome job man, easily one of if not THE best FF13th. Strange that Tom McLoughlin doesn't recall where that RV scene was filmed, that was a pretty epic stunt and probably the most expensive shot in the film.

You were spot on with all the areas where iconic scenes of part 6 took place at! This is definitely the best Friday the 13 part 6 filming location video I've ever come across. You are truly dedicated Tampa Jay, & I especially appreciate that you made an attempt to locate the filming location of the opening scene. I've never really sat down & thought about just how much of a mystery the location of the opening scenes are! Looking at the footage again, it looks to me to be some kind of makeshift cemetery, that was most likely built by the crew. Who knows though, maybe I'm wrong?? It certainly looks as if it's located somewhere deep off in those Georgia woods. Maybe someday someone will locate it.
great job! This my favorite Friday 13th. It has TJ 's return a great identification character. The opening scene is great, harkens back to Dracula + Frankenstein. Scary and fun throughout. Watched it over and over an still Love it.

You can spend the weekend here, staying in the cabins, and even kayak on the lake. On Set Cinema does a filming location event here once a year and it's amazing. I done it last year and have tickets to this years event in August.

I am glad People is still doing this, making videos on filming locations of Old Classics. It makes me feel good that people still Do This For Classics. And Never let True Legend Films Die. I enjoy seeing how much the Area change Years Later. also A little Sad Because its not the same as what you would see in the movie. Guess that's life, things have to change. These movies defined my youth in the 80's at Camp Crystal Lake. Yes we had one in my hometown in the northeast and it was creepy after watching parts 1-3 when I lived there, while at camp.

Jason Lives is my favorite installment of the series, as well. Excellent job! The street sign at the intersection where Tommy and Megan turn to avoid the roadblock says Cunningham Rd. which is a shoutout to Sean S. Cunningham, one of the series producers.
Part 6 also my favorite when it popped up you done these locations the excitement i felt was unreal nobody does these locations the way you do the way you match up the shots is the best part literally brings the movie back to life and getting to relive it awesome job my friend you are awesome Tampa Jay 🎥 🎥 🤘🤘

Fantastic job.. so cool seeing those places and the rain ambiance helped too. I've been to a handful of my favorite movies filming locations and it's hard to describe the surreal and fulfilling feeling you get when your actually standing there especially when they're in somewhat obscure locations and still intact'ish. I was 12 when part 6 came out and remember of course being scared as heck and still enjoy it on occasion. Thanks !

And I never realized those early sequences were filmed in Covington. I’ve only seen the In the Heat of the Night series a million times, so how I didn’t notice those famous locations (“police stattion” and courthouse) integral to every episode is beyond me!

Thanks Jay, I love these filming location videos! I never could sit through these slasher movies though because of the absurdity of the situations therein. For example when just like you mentioned the deputy, then the sheriff opened fire with a pistol, then a 12 gauge shotgun and neither worked even at point blank range. The shotgun is known to take down large brown bears and so in real life Jason would've been missing his torso after the shotgun, but it doesn't faze him in the movie. Sheesh!!! :-)

I have always told my girls that Jason doesn't hurt little kids, so we don't think he would have hurt any of those sleeping kids. They think he protects little kids because of what happened to him. They love him! They are 8 and 3 years old.
