  • In this video I will go through how the Garmin Shot View App works. I will show how to delete shots, name the sessions, omit individual shots, how to switch from metric to imperial etc. I will then show you how I made my own rifle mount easily and very affordable, I really like the one I built and it works great and it actually cost me nothing as I had all the materials laying around the house. Thanks for watching my friends, take care.

    Looks like Garmin has hit a home run with this being feature rich and compact. Something the shooter world has needed for awhile. One chrono for all
    Your weapons. Great idea for a small caliber mount! It looks like unknown munitions makes a nice arca plate for mounting to your normal tripod also. Great review!! Thanks for the info

    I talked to a guy at the gun range the other day using this Garmin and he and I were very impressed. I'd like to have one of these but what do I do with the other 2 I already have? lol

    I think you covered this, But how do you delete a session from your phone.

      Hi Don, open the session you want to delete and touch the three dots in the top right corner of the screen and an option to delete will pop up. Thanks for watching and commenting, take care.

    Thanks for that detailed review! Question: Is it possible to end the current "session" and start a new "session" by using the app?
    Or do I have to use the device buttons ?

    • @bcextremeoutdoorsman
      @bcextremeoutdoorsman  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, you are very welcome, I not very good at reviews but I try. I believe you can not use the app to end or start a new season. But with Garmin they are always looking to upgrade there products. That could be easily done with an update. So you could see it in the future. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, take care.

    Hey, I noticed you did an unboxing of those Apex Binoculars, I was wondering what you thought of them?

    • @bcextremeoutdoorsman
      @bcextremeoutdoorsman  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Rylie, they are awesome binos for the price point. If you wear glasses try them out first. I gave one of the pairs to my hunting partner and he loves them. I find binoculars to be a personal thing, not all binos are for everyone. We all have different eyes, I would never buy binos without trying them first.

    Once you enter a rifle with ballistic info, can you just select from a list next time or does it always enter as an empty session where you have to add the data?
    Would be nice to say "new session" and just select a previously used gun.

    • @bcextremeoutdoorsman
      @bcextremeoutdoorsman  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Bruno, once you close the session or power down the only memory it seems to have is the bullet grain weight from the last rifle you fired. Other than saving the session on your phone, but you can’t reopen those sessions or add to them. I’m sure Garmin will come out with an up date and add a few more features like that.

    how well does it work measuring pistol bullet velocities?

    • @bcextremeoutdoorsman
      @bcextremeoutdoorsman  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Clay, I hear it works good, but I have never tested it with a rifle. Works great for a 22LR so it would be fine either way a pistol bullet. Thanks for watching and the comment, take care.

    After accidentally deleting a few sessions from the app I cannot get those sessions to re sync back into the app even though I kept them intact on the Garmin. Have you ran into this issue? I can’t figure it out. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the Garmin in the app and still won’t sync them back into the app.

      Hi Daniel, I have not ran into that problem, what I would do is contact Garmin, they have great support for their products. Ask them and see, if it can’t be done, see if they can do an update in the future to have that feature.
      I will look at mine when I get a chance and see if I can figure it out. But I bet if you can’t I can’t. Thanks for watching and the comment, take care.

    why would you mount that on your rifle?

    • @bcextremeoutdoorsman
      @bcextremeoutdoorsman  หลายเดือนก่อน

      For smaller calibers when you have to quickly set up and move on, like when you are zeroing at a match. I even used it in a match stage to verify my velocities when I had a new barrel and it was still speeding up. I don’t mount it on any rifle bigger than a 6.5. I hope this answers your question. 😊thank you for watching and taking the time to comment, take care.

    Been reloading and long range shooting for nearly 5 decades and I don't get why you would ever want to build a mount and attach it to a rifle? WHY???

    • @bcextremeoutdoorsman
      @bcextremeoutdoorsman  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Eric, here’s a better question. Why wouldn’t you ??? I only mount it on my 6.5’s and under and only for checking my velocities at the beginning of the day, or during load development or before a match. It’s easier and quicker to set up on the line before a match when everyone is waiting for a spot to shoot from. I don’t have to mess with as it’s in position and ready to go.
      Also : the reason I showed how to build the rifle mount was because a few viewers asked me to.
      I hope that answers your question as to why ????
      Now answer my question. Why wouldn’t you ???

      @@bcextremeoutdoorsman Ok Here ya go.. You say it's quicker to set up? How long does it take to set the thing down and hit the power button? couple seconds? Secondly, any shooter worth his salt isn't going to have anything hanging off the side of his rifle when he's shooting 1000 yards. That's just something else to deal with. Meanwhile, when shooting multiple guns it sure is nice to NOT have to deal with switching it to different guns and how about if you are shooting with a buddy??? Hell you might as well buy a magneto Speed if you want something hanging off your gun, it's much cheaper "$150 or so" and the mount doesn't look like some sort of an abomination like the cobbled together mess that you concocted. THAT'S why.

    • @bcextremeoutdoorsman
      @bcextremeoutdoorsman  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good morning Eric, I will guarantee you it takes longer to screw on the little tripod as it does to attach the rifle mount. I store it in the case with the rifle mount already attached to the Garmin, so its quick to attach . So you are wrong on that point.
      I have never shot 1000 yards with the Chronograph hanging off my rifle. I use a chronograph for load development and to check my velocities before a match or a range session, then it gets put away. Point #2 mute.
      Next you say it's a pain to switch it from rifle to rifle. It takes no longer than switching out a bipod from rifle to rifle, which only takes seconds. Point #3 a joke.
      My so called ugly concoction of a mount works great and I have had more compliments on it than I can remember. Also that mount cost me nothing and to buy one can cost over $200.00. If you like I could paint it so it looks pretty for you. Point #4 just plain rude.
      Thank you again for watching and the comment Eric, I hope you have a great day and a great weekend. Take care my friend.

    Too bad a guy needs an Android operating system no older than what's on a Samsung S-10. It won't run on my S-8, wish the app was a bit backwards compatible. All that extra information would be nice.
