Don't use the XL6009 voltage booster for charging or powering because it has one major issue. Whenever the input voltage will be low, meaning the battery voltage, the module will malfunction and may provide a surge voltage of up to 50V, which could fry your output device. This module is only for light use. You can use a zener diode for protection.
