    Glad to see someone saved a Cougar. Lots of people saved/restored Mustangs, but most Cougar's got junked. I'd like to get a 1967 or 1968 Cougar with a 351 V8 and a 4 sp manual.

    • @dukecraig2402
      @dukecraig2402 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Understanding how those production lines worked I don't understand how that would have been possible, the way everything was choreographed to get everything to show up at the right places for each model as they came down the assembly line, along with the fact that the engine's being serial numbered and accounted for I just can't see it, too many things would have to be changed, it wouldn't be simple as just putting that engine in a chassis that was set up for another engine, even things like the front springs would be wrong and the front end would sag under the weight of a 428 in a car that had springs for a SBF engine, there'd be clearance issues with stuff, the exhaust wouldn't bolt up, power steering lines and electrical cables wouldn't work.
      I'm calling BS on that one, they got employee discounts on the cars anyway, they probably got a performance package car at the price everyone else got a base model for which is more like the truth that got morphed into that story by the time it gets told from one bar stool to the next, by the time truth gets across town it turns into that fable.

      @@dukecraig2402Agreed. Plus the quality checkers farther down the line would get fired for letting something like that go through. You’d have to get so many people to go along to make that happen. At best I could perhaps see someone getting chrome valve covers when regular painted ones were spec’d.

    Love the 73 Torino. My brother in law had one with 400 in it. Was a fun car until the wiring caught fire due to bad radio and amp install. That was in 1983 don’t know if that car got sold or scrapped. They had a 1970 grabber green Mach 1 also 351 and never ran was basket case. In my youth I never witnessed someone rebuilding a car as they were cheap and disposable then. 2 years later the muscle car market picked up. I have repaired and rebuilt a lot of cars since my late teens. 1st engine swap was a 78 Mach1 had it running with my friends by 7am. We didn’t start until midnight. Wish I could go back and grab a couple of cars my family had.

    My mother's 1973 gran torino 351 cj 4spd bench seat is still in our family. My father is painting it for the 4th time. The car was bought here in central Texas. Many memories of family vactions cruising the seawall in Galveston, many people in mid seventies corvettes/ cameros reving up there engines at my old man. We have owned many cool fords over the years and still have most of them. Restore them don't scrap em. I enjoy your videos always neat stuff and we havent found it all.

    Morrison"s '67 Shelby GT500: 5yrs ago there was an interview of a guy (owner Alan Rickman) on TH-cam Video "Motor'n TV" that has all the restoration points that add up to the Morrison's Shelby he found in Arizona. Its an interesting story. The friend of this Restoration Shop's video should share VIN numbers off the Morrison Registration Paper work the friend has. Name on the 5yr old video is " 1970 all original Hemi Cuda , (possibly) Jim Morrison 1967 GT SHELBY Cobra".

      100% agree, I think it's great his dedication to preserving these cars but obviously he's got too many for them to all be treated correctly, when they've got weeds growing out of the engine bays it's time to let them go at affordable prices to get them into the hands of people who'll get them in a garage and start on them, or at least to stop the rotting process.
      When it gets to the point where they're looking at cars that have weeds growing out of the engine bays that enough for me, not only am I not excited by something like that I hate to see it.

      @@FordTorinoMercuryCyclone not from from from what I could tell. I had a ram air drag pack convertible that had the cut outs. The parts car I had, had no cutouts. The convertible is an R code. The parts car was an M code. Now you might be right that all the R and Q codes had the cut outs. On that, I could be mistaken.

      @@FiteTheGoodFight you could have had a 68 hood that someone thru a scoop on, happens all the time. But Ford stamped put the cut outs on all the GT hoods.

      @@FordTorinoMercuryCyclone ok, I can't argue with that, because it is possible that that could have happened with the m code

      I will say that, I’ve had a couple of 69 Torino GT’s over the years and they all had the hood cutouts. All were 351 w cars and stock

    Thanks for skipping by the most interesting car in the yard... the 1964 Ford Galaxy 500 convertible, the white car you almost tripped over.

    I am definitely impressed with his collection. However these vehicles are just sitting there rusting and rotting everyday when they should be sold to people that want to preserve them and enjoy them. Too many cars for the owner to do anything with as he is no young spring chicken himself.
