I have explored the 300 year old village in Khorfakkan - the Najd Al Maqsar Historical Village. Watch til the end for the epic drone shots of the village on a mountain (at 04:57).
The village is one of the most important ancient human communities in Wadi Washi located within the historical city of Khorfakkan.

The village includes 13 old houses dating back nearly a hundred years, and the people at that time used to be a haven from the flow of torrents, and according to archaeological studies, rocks engraved with drawings of camels and horses were found in the area of ​​”Washi”, estimated to be two thousand years old.
There is also historical evidence of the displacement of a number of the people of the city of Khorfakkan to the Wadi “Washi” region, especially “Najd al-Maqsar settlement, during the Middle Ages, at the time of the Portuguese colonization of the region, to seek shelter in its impenetrable mountains.”

Yes, it is open for public to walk upto the top and enjoy. However, BBQ spots in the houses are still under construction. But you can visit and enjoy
