The game has a lot of potential but the inconsistency is really bad. Half of the time i feel like my only purpose is to die repeatedly, so i just stop and go to zombies or play a different game altogether.
in other words, you rage-quit because you die often. you're playing a multiplayer game where the other team are out to kill you as fast as possible. what did you expect when you meet the enemy on the map, the opponent to just stand there and wait for you to kill him/her? lol
@@saltyaces8621 Ok, there's dumb and there's you... dying from desync is not the same as dying because you can't play moron... feeling that you died from a single bullet and then seeing the guy shot you 5 times but the server connection is so off that you only felt one bullet has NOTHING to do with the opponent wanting to kill you... Jesus, shut up and think you absolute brick brained bot...
@@saltyaces8621 seems like you completely missed the point of their comment. The whole point is that when you do well in one game, so the game throws you into a lobby where your only purpose is to keep dying and maybe get an occasional kill. Not sure how that can be a fun experience for anyone. And not everyone has 12 hours a day to spare to improve their skills like some of these people do. This kind of matchmaking is anti-player and I'm not sure how people like you are defending it.
@@wohnie39 who is "people like me" though? i work 48 hours 4o4o, i have commitments irl, i only have a few hours to spare for gaming, i haven't played COD since MW2019 and vanguard, only stumbled into this because i have game-pass, i'm not young with the best reactions yet i'm absolutely having a blast. cease your utter troglodyte drivel about the game being anti-player - player numbers speak for themselves and will continue to do so. i can "defend" it because it's legit so fun to run and dive around shotgunning players like you in the face and read everyone crying about it online.
The thing is, it's not even just the servers, it's the netcode. I've been doing quite a bit of messing around with my network environment and I can tell you, that what's going on on your end (or more likely, the other player's end) will effect the experience. For example, if you drop, corrupt or misorder your packets you can avoid taking some damage despite registering that you've been hit or outright not even register the hit - as I've ran into a couple of grenade indicators without so much as even a flinch or any on screen indication of being hit. There is also variable damage that is somehow tied to ping and I've noticed this as far back as OG Black Ops days. In those days people claimed that it's multiple bullets stacking into a single packet that gives the impression of higher damage per bullet but I don't think it's true. I've noticed that when playing with an ideal connection I will always get one shotted by a sniper rifle but if I just increase my ping to a certain level in the same match that same sniper will start having to hit me twice to take me down. One of the big problems with Black Ops 6 is how lenient its netcode is and how good its lag comp is at smoothing out bad connections. I've tried playing with a 750 ping and it was still playable (though not too good feeling), I could drop half the packets and not get booted. And what makes all of this worse is that COD netcode has some weird system where it seems to inject fake lag into other players connections in the lobby based on the worst connections in that lobby. Which is partly the source of that packet burst (unless you're the one playing on a crappy connection, then it's true packet burst). If you've ever seen a player leave or enter a lobby and get a stutter and then the whole feel of the match changes this is why. Also, the game still uses client hosts on occasion (ie, players' systems as servers). I've actually had a few matches tonight where a player would leave the lobby, the game would pause and give some message about severe connection issue and then resume play. And in all honesty I think the client servers actually feel better to play on than Activision's servers. Another element to take into account is that you resync into the game every time you die and the quality of the resync seems to vary wildly. This is why you can go on a tear and get a massive streak and feel like a god, get killed and all of a sudden you can't hit anything. This was especially noticeable during 2 round domination COD's, where one round a team could slap the other team's cheeks and the next round they struggle to get out of spawn. So yes, there is stuff going on that sounds similar to skill based player nerfing but I think it actually has more to do with netcode than skill. The only thing I can't a 100% figure out is if it's a natural byproduct of a bad network environment or if this stuff is actually coded in to function based on a players connection quality. And given that they've previously admitted to host disadvantage, I'm leaning towards this being deliberate.
All facts!! It's clearly deliberate and they want the remaining community of DIE hard 6v6 loyalist to go play WAR$ONE. It's obvious what ACTIVI$ION agenda is since MWII.
The manipulative matchmaking idea makes sense. I know this has been discussed before, but it is very obvious. When I play by myself, sometimes my ping is around 20ms, sometimes 50ms, sometimes 70-100ms. The only reason there'd be gaps this large is if the system is matching you with people that are farther away. If it's matching you with people that are farther away, it means it's intending to manage your experience under whatever parameters it's been given: if those parameters become more specific, it will have a harder time finding people closer to you. That UCLA study from 2017 outlined that the best way to maximize player "engagement" is not through "fair" matches, but through managing a players experience by drip feeding them a game where they're likely to do well, then feeding them games they're likely to do bad in. The bad games motivate the player to go back for more good games, even though they get frustrated. From what I've experienced with the matchmaking in MW2019, MW2(2033), and MW3, I'd say this is probably a how CODs matchmaking works, at a high level anyway.
The worst moments for me are when you get slid or jumped on and the guy absolutely smokes you off the game then you watch the killcam and he’s an absolute bot and took 3 seconds to line up his shot but for me felt instant
This is the problem I'm consistently having with BO6, I remember this was really bad when MWII launched and then it got much better so I'm hoping it's gonna get better but this is some of the worst I've seen since Ghosts in terms of enemy players seeing you literally seconds before you do anything. Makes me feel like I'm going crazy while playing, lmao. I either go top of the leaderboard and destroying the enemy team or bottom of our team absolutely destroyed. Never had that happen in a COD before. Never had such a consistently terrible COD like this before.
The ping display is literally fake news. I have a network scanner and i have other games where the ping display is real. Currently im experiencing bad internet, so my ping goes all over the place from 10ms to 150ms. Every game is accurate in displaying this, my network scanner is accurate in displaying this, but BO6 wants to tell me that I have a perfect 10ms ping all the time even though im ice skating over the map sometimes.
Makes me wonder what my ping really is. It shows me mine is about 20-25ms average (on par for other games) yet I get ping variation notifications and everyone starts teleporting and freezing if it shows my ping go to 35-40ms which is far from being an actual problem gameplay wise.
i deleted this game already, i’m not dealing with shooting people 10 times and not getting a kill. the camping, spawn killing, SBMM, i’m glad it was free.
I thought I was going crazy, latest games were terrible, no time to react, I know the enemy is there, I go prepared and already aiming while he doesn't know I'm there and he's still able to kill me wtf? Hope they fix this because the game is so good, one of the best cod in years.
Another issue people don't talk about enough is that there are some many ways to figure out where players are. We have UAVs, the personal scanner (1st scorestreak), High aleart, the speailist recon package that allows people to see through walls and shows elements on screen notifying you where someone is (that speciality package is nutso), Assassin, Tracker, Forward Intel, prox nade, spotter scanner, and camera (which no-one uses). It'll be hard this year to identify hackers. But yes the servers suck and I still believe a dash of skill based damage is at play. Give me hard evidence then ill shut up about that.
@@CrazyCherry Very good point. I jumped into mp this past weekend for the first time and I was blown away of how easy it is to paint targets on the map. Not to mention unsuppressed fire appears on the minimap.
@UnchartedNL what? People believing lies? There is no such thing as skill based damage and if you look at the people having problems its almost always PC.
Drift, I have been watching since the first MW2. It's so great to see your own gameplay again this year. When I heard you say you felt bad at Blops 6 so far, I was worried for a sec. Bad Drift0r is still a great player, and after all you've been thru it's just a good feeling to know you're back in the saddle again. I know I'm just a random person on the Internet but I'm proud of you!
Likewise. I played CoD for like 11 years straight then took a dedicated break to play Apex. But I never stopped watching Drift and its great to see him doing well.
Tbh I thought it was me. I upgraded to fiber internet and I was like about to go Karen mode on the company but seeing you having the same trouble, its good to see I’m not the only one but I hope it gets resolved soon for all of us
Idk if you're on PC, but for me, on Xbox, I'm not getting any packet loss whatsoever. So you either have some network issue you aren't aware of, connect to a region with bad servers, or have a bug specific to one (or more) platform.
Never understood the logic behind people who just want to have "69-2" games all of the time. What's the point? Where's the challenge? If you would always stomp, you would've gotten bored of the game in 2 weeks... If something is challenging, its great because you want to improve and keep playing... It's like if you were going to the gym and lifting 0,5kg dumbbells for 5 years, see no progress and then complain that the gym is "bad" "dogshit" and stuff...
@@janpisek9214 You wouldn't have those games all the time, that's the point. There is no reason to rig public matchmaking.... Nobody ever wanted it or asked for it in the history of COD
The reason people hate SBMM and think it's like old CoDs when they go nuclear in a match is because we used to join servers hosted by people in CoD2 and CoD4, stomp random noobs and mop the floor with anyone who's playing the game just for fun after school for an hour or two. Nobody seems to want to play people similar to the skill or better. I've been playing this franchise multiplayer since CoD2 and not once have I moaned about SBMM. Not when it first came around and not ever. XDefiant exists and people can choose to play it. But most people don't. Because what you realize is the mega sweats that wanna go 50-0 abusing noobs are facing each other because the noobs that get stomped and violated left that game mostly. This is not gonna be like the old days where you had your favorite servers, servers for serious players, servers for casual play. This is what you got, for years now. And the tinfoil theories are starting to get pathetic at this point. SBMM is here to stay so people who are terrible at the game can still enjoy it without getting their anuses expanded 24/7 for days on end and regret ever playing the game. If you're good at the game, it shouldn't affect you. Because REALLY good players are still maintaining great KD and WL ratios. It looks like the SBMM is only affecting people that aren't really that great but still wanna pubstomp.
I deleted the game. My issue was I was dying to enemies I couldn't see. Like I was being wallbanged. But the killcam would show them right in front of me. Enemy strafing is like their teleporting. Everyone has perfect aim and I die instantly, but it takes forever to kill. Cod isn't what it was years ago. Or maybe I'm too old now. None of these issues happened in a private match.
Same here. Youre not alone. I couldn't get over how accurate every. Single. Player was every single time. They never miss. I shouldn't be playing an entire team of these kind of pros
i experienced this in EVERY treyarc game since B02.. thats the biggest reason i couldnt enjoy them. this exact reason.. i always said and now they "player X has 'the advantage'." it takes so so much to be able to kill these players, but for them its a cakewalk to kill you because they literally appear on your screen later, than i am on theirs...as long as the desync is this severe no gunfight can be trusted.. because you dont know if youre at the positive end of the desync, but youll always notice when youre a the negative end
@@FlowKom This, absolutely. Drives me mad when you turn a corner only to die instantly, and on their screen you're standing there for a full second before reacting. It's bizarre.
I called it a night after my last 4 games of TDM went 99-100, 100-99, 98-100, 96-100. Been playing COD since BLOPS and I have never seen it like that ever. The algorithm is working so hard that games feel completely formulaic and computer generated. Not fun.
That ls the literal the goal of sbmm to make the games close and competitive I don’t like it but that is sbmm doing its job. ideally games are close and competitive and you’re kd is around a 1.0
@@karsonrivers9880 It's a game dude, game should be fun, SBMM is not fun, that a universal opinion. i've never spoken to a real human being who genuinely enjoyed SBMM in casual modes/playlists. It doesn't belong, and player reaction Is proof of it.
@@shamba4406 really? i heard some people like being matched up with harder players so they can improve their own skills. how does one get better at a game without playing harder? maybe it's just the majority of people want to feel like they're owning and can't stand the fact they lose to someone better is the problem, not SBMM
If I wanna sweat 24/7 I'd play a game mode called idk rank?. I also played against plenty of people much better then me back before sbmm and I got my skills up just fine. When I wanted to sweat and play nothing but I'd play the rank mode they had. Don't make normal regular pub game like a cod league match...when I didn't ask for it or pick it.
The dreaded packet burst. Idk whats going on lol. My internet is good. My hardware is good. Yet i lag in the absolute *worst* possible time, like right as i meet face to face with an enemy
I was dealing with the same thing last week until I made a few changes to settings hope this helps. Turned game mode on pc game bar settings on, lowered vram target to 80, set texture streaming to minimal. Not sure which one did the trick but it immediately fixed the problem.
@@curtman1374 Texture streaming to minimal helped me alot on PC. I used to see packet burst with every gunfight, it was driving me nuts. Its not totally fixed now but its alot better for me after changing the texture streaming setting.
call of duty has always been like that, it's your game catching up with the server. That happens when you die on the servers end before you even saw what happened lmao. It just feels like you freeze and get killed.
yesss dude i know exactly what you’re talking about. I can tell when an enemy is nearby because at least once a match at minimum my screen will freeze/lag and i lose the gunfight or i have to wait for that split second for the lag to go away even though i have low latency. lol
I have this weird feeling that there is a very inconsistent ttk, I never kill as quickly as I die and when I check the killcams it says that I died with 5 bullets but on my end I die immediately. Sometimes when I see clips on twitter or something, people get shot at and have time to react (just like any cod before mw2019), they have proper gunfights, whereas all I have is 50/50's of who gets deleted first. I just don't get how people do it and I don't know how to adapt to this sort of gameplay (haven't played cod since bo4). I do get that the average player is much better than the average player in 2011 for example but man it gets tough sometimes... (before anyone says get good, I think a 1.6 kd is good enough)
Did you even watch the video? He literally just explained it. What you are experiencing is called desync. , aka lag compensation, aka shoot first die first.
infinity ward games literally do not have this issue. i played mw2019 for almost 3 years until MW2 came out. that game also didnt have it and MW3 only in the launch window.. they god rid of it by the time season 1 launched and it has been a very very miniscule issue since then.. but now in bo6.. its EVERY game.. every game there are players that you simply cannot kill and kill you as soon as they are on your screen
@ depends where you live mate. I’m in Australia and desync is always rampant, but hey, that’s what we get with our terrible Oceania region that forces Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Japan to play with eachother lol. But, you are right if you’re saying it’s less pronounced and less noticeable in IW games, I agree with this statement. Treyarch games for some reason always suffer from desync, it’s bizarre.
Game is rigged, you just got EOMM'd. I can tell cuz i played MW2 2022 and MW3. even warzone is rigged. even DMZ PvP was rigged. you wouldn't believe the amount of in-game parameters the game rigging-algorithm can tune in real time in match. Certain players are meant to be protected and you can notice that when fighting them. Some noobs somewhat getting the edge in gunfights (via damage/hitbox/health modification). If the game rigging algorithm wants to stay hidden and unoticed by players sometimes it will not touch mechanics and stats rather it will artificially decrease your internet bandwith and give you unfavourable ping to put you at a big connection differential to your opponents. This is the way the system emulates your predicted performance and maximizes your retention. By making you go nuts and doubt about yourself so much that you're ready to endure multiple rage inducing losses just in the chase of that single "good" game. EDIT: oh and dont even ask me about the store. You just fail not to notice how the game throws you a bone after buying some stuff.
In battlefield we called this damage stacking. Basically the server says you died before it says you took damage. DICE fixed it a lot in BF2042 but i doubt anything will be fixed in cod
My connection is completely fine. I think it different person to person, but one thing that is there for everyone I can shoot someone 15/20 times, they then turn and shoot me 3/4 times and I lose , this has to be fixed
I've never seen 2 or 3 hitmarkers in hardcore before. However, when I'm in matches with players that are better than I am melting me, I can't reach to the skill based damage idea. If I was in a potato lobby shooting marshmallows, ok, but when I'm getting hitmarkers in hardcore while being destroyed by better players . . that's when it doesn't track for me. I really think that the movement speed is causing issues too. There were problems with hit detection in MW3 because of how sharp the movement was, I'd play people in competitive that would cheese the system by moving very spastically and it would take 2-3 extra bullets to kill them, whereas a stationary target or one that wasn't moving as fast would die in the proper amount of bullets. I'm not talking about feeling like I'm hitting them, I'm talking about number of hitmarkers I hear, so either the sound is being triggered when it shouldn't be or the shots are registering as hits but aren't really counting?? This feels like that sometimes. I've been playing mostly hardcore to work on camo challenges, but it's been really frustrating, especially because of how awful the maps are . .
Wow driftor, ur video just popped on my recommended list and I couldn’t believe it, I remember watching ur videos back in Black Ops 2 and I still remember ur iconic voice man what a nostalgia hit hahaha😂
The fact that we have no idea what the matchmaker tunes for is a fundamental problem. The game is literally manipulating you on a psychological level. Connection should be the only factor. Except for a protected bracket for the lowest skilled players or disabled players. They should be protected.
@VesperEm why shouldn't it? It's what was standard that made it so popular to begin with, and disbanding lobbies need to go as well. The randomness you get is more enjoyable than playing mlg scrims.
These dopamine loops are also the reason for the small maps. It’s the tiktokification of CoD. Increase the frequency of gunfights, remove the killcam so you can spawn in even faster, increase the sprint speed, etc.
lol eh that’s some massive confirmation bias on your part. The smallest maps have always been the most popular. Nuketown, Shipment, Rust, etc. were always the most played. Try again.
@@GlRTHBR00KSthe reason those small maps will be the most popular is also because of that dopamine release though. OP point is there’s never been so many small maps.
@@GlRTHBR00KS That’s exactly the point, unfortunately you missed it. Small maps are essential, like salt in food, they add flavor. But a whole mappool of small maps? That’s just pure salt. Now, every game feels like “Shipment 24/7” chaos. If you like eating pure salt, go for it though.
Skill based dmg is real, gun fights in this game are the most inconsistent they've been in COD in a long time. I often find that if you shoot someone first in a gunfight, they usually win. The reactive player is rewarded more than the proactive player.
Leveling up the guns while adderal infused monster drink chugging kids omni-diving 8 different directions over my head while I struggle to get a few kills in with my pea shooters has been quite the fun experience. Being a masochist really helps!
I had a 2.67 KD in MW2 when I first got BO6, I've barely been able to hold a 1.0KD on most matches because it feels like everyone kills me in a single bullet but it takes three for me to kill them even if I'm using the same guns (hardcore), it also feels like my shots just dont exist sometimes, like my aim was dead on their chest, I fired several times, and nothing, but then I get beamed the literal FRAME someone see's me It's so bad that I've actually started to suspect there might be cheats that take advantage of the omni-movement to help change your hitbox displacement, combine that with soft aimlock and you have a recipe for grief, and given that cheaters are only on the rise, am I just being a conspiracy theorist? It's not like I'm BAD at cod, I've always managed at least a 2~ KD for my global stats, my highest was the OG MW2 at 4.3, I have twitch aim, I have game sense, but I can't not get steam rolled in BO6 hardcore matches even though I exclusively play hardcore, and I am 99% of the time solo cued in every CoD I play, so I am used to fighting stacked teams, but it's like I don't even get to have my bullets counted in the equation so far.
All this on top of bad maps is just making it a miserable time for most players. I hope we get a map rework like we got with the launch maps of BF2042 but I doubt they'll put in the effort.
Thank you for making this video to raise awareness! I also want to add, as a fellow mouse and keyboard player who persists even through owning a PS5, the desync will make it look like some enemies are fast forwarded in 1.25x speed which makes tracking extremely difficult and sometimes just plain impossible. At least with aim assist it helps you keep up with any inconsistencies and jittery-ness in the server desync. So this year, mouse and keyboard feels particularly rough, so just my little 2 cents and food for thought for you to take away and bear in mind. Because you have essentially chosen to play with the input that is at the highest disadvantage it’s ever had in COD history.
Yea I’ve been playing fps with mnk since CS 1.6. I just can’t play with a controller. I’ve tried and it feels weird. I’d rather play with the disadvantage. I wish we could just turn off cross play
@Tyler-e7f3q I am alternating (have an Ally X), but i am still married to kbm. Controller gives me this wierd ,,not in controll" feeling. I guess its because the mouse input is raw.
It makes me happy I stopped playing fps shooters. Hackers and desync just wore me down so much before I quit. Its kinda sad to see that their still issues to this day.
The enemies somehow how where I am all the time everytime, no matter how hidden I am in prone. And they never miss when they shoot. It's unreal how they are doing this, cause it was never like this in games past
The enemies know where you are at all times. They know this because they know where you aren’t. By subtracting where you are from where you aren’t, or where you aren’t from where you are (whichever is greater), they obtain a difference, or deviation.

Drift0r, i have watched since BO2 days where i watched every vid you ever made back then & learned most of what i knew from them. Absolutely love the straight facts/statistics you provide in your vids and it gives me hope that maybe treyarch can fix their game. Btw as a heavy-leaning comp player, this game definitely has some desync/algorithm based damage going on, and they desperately need to fix it or it'll be remembered the same as the last few modern cods compared to the older cods (Even with rose-tinted glasses of nostalgia set aside) Happy to see your vids again. I personally don't believe skilled based damage is 100% a thing.... But literally a couple years ago everyone commenting "the new Scape goat" "new way to blame anything but themselves" was said by the same people when everyone blamed SBMM. Guess what, it turned out to be real.
It is skill based connection, skill based packet loss, skill based ping, skill based desync. Noob timmy no thumbs lobbies don't have any of those issues. Average to above average lobbies do have those issues, especially after a game or two of you doing above average/above your norm. The game makes you lose in every way it can, remember they told us specifically "all players experience wins and losses proportionately regardless of skill level" you win and lose based on the algorithm. Whether it is doing it with gameplay factors like damage, movement speed, etc or fake injected server lag/packet loss etc, nobody knows or can probably even prove in any meaningful way. Doesn't matter though, THE GAME CONTROLS YOUR OUTCOMES.
Man, if you really, truly believe this, and it's affecting you this much, then why even play the game? Games are supposed to be fun, clearly you're not having any.
Every time I play with a particular out-of-state friend, we get put on a server that gives me 15%+ packet loss. Some of the connection issues this year are actually insane.
SBMM is REAL and anybody denying that is absolutely off their 2boxing IKEA rocker. for SBMM damage, that is mostly said because of packet loss and dsync. but the true reason this isn’t being solved and hasn’t for YEARS is because the majority of content creators are either 2boxing or brushing around the corners of the absolute disgusting disgrace from hell that is SBMM. nothing will ever change if the loudest voices in the cod community don’t speak up and we will be trapped in eternal SBMM purgatory until we start forcing ourselves upon our 10 year old kids matches in 2040 just to start ripping matches for camo challenges but even then it won’t be anywhere near enjoyable and just another Hel. why? because NOBODY LIKES SHITING ON ONLY SHITERS ALL DAY LONG
Your last point is exactly true. People who are pro SBMM think that we all want to go around stomping noobs all day. That's just not the case we want some games where we can chill and have fun and occasionally get some streaks going. And I speak as someone who reverse boosted back in Advanced warfare. It got boring stomping on noobs where it wasn't fun anymore. So I started playing a lot of ranked.
@@George-li1yvexactly! We don't wanna stomp on new players. We just want matches free of algorithmic manipulation. Randomized selected lobbies just based on ping where sometimes you'll face better players and sometimes noobs but where matches are not predetermined

Black Ops 2 multiplayer was perfect. There was casual multiplayer and league play, If you wanted to sweat and prove yourself you would hop on LG and get matched with ppl of similar skill in the same league as you. Now with SBMM in casual lobbies you can't even turn your brain off for more than 5 seconds. Every corner, window, hallway etc. has to be checked every time you move just so you don't die after every kill. This is not entertaining especially for people who come home from work to relax.
Let’s not forget AI calling cards, bots in lobbies, and an apparent 4000 devs (which I’m almost completely sure is actually 100 devs on pay roll and 3900 Indians in a support centre in Bangladesh)
I did not know you still made videos. BTW Drift0r, you basically saved me. I remember watching your videos when you were going to health issues regarding your pituitary adenoma. I ended up with the SAME issue. What set me off to it was having Low Testosterone just like you did. Plus a bunch of other hormonal problems. If it was not for your videos I would have never gotten an MRI. Now that I have been on medication it is shrinking and my body is slowly stabilizing. I would have never knew or thought of it, if it was not for your videos.
I’m glad to see more and more of these types of videos. Hopefully they’ll make it more of a priority to fix it. Although I fear that unless they see a drop in player base they’ll continue to ignore it
I have been part of the group talking about sbmm and skill based damage BO2. After years of mockery, sbmm was confirmed. I believe skill based damage is real. Its always been chalked up to packet loss or ping. But there are times when those are near perfect and I still get 1 shot from across the map with an smg. Pro players are starting to say this too. It's clear that something is going on.
@@TheDon-i9d unfortuntely these manipulation tactics are invisible to the lower skilled and average player because they benefit from it. This is more noticeable to the above average skilled players as it negatively impacts them the most. The better you get the more obvious it becomes
SBMM is an absolute nightmare. Both when I get a lobby full of absolute bots (I don't even do 2-boxing) which doesn't feel like a challenge or an achievement or when the game decides to feed me and my team to the opponents in the next match.
Bring back unrestricted game chat and connection based ONLY match making. Everything else is for betas and babies. btw babies shouldnt be on cod to begin with
The majority of ppl who claim there is skill based damage think because they have a good isp means they won't experience lag or other issues as much. That and they think just because Activision is a billion dollar company that they automatically have the best servers. They can't accept that the issue is something as a simple bad server quality. Look at any other fps game, and they have similar issues, especially if that game has sbmm. Face it ppl , Activision sucks from top to bottom. They cheap out on everything, just to protect their profits. And if im not mistaken, having skill based damage in a mulitplayer game is illegal.

But I guess the patent is just a coincidence?
@ yes it is lol skill based damage is not a thing it would be so easy to test if it was a thing multiple people have tried and detected nothing. It’s not a thing. That sounds like desync which a lot of people are having problems with.
@@danielb6579 Wouldn't it be happening at the professional level as well ?? The point you and everyone is missing is that it can't be repeated at will. Just like with sbmm, ppl were able to prove that it was happening, and it has it been around for longer than ppl realize in some form. This version just sux a lot more. The patient is not proof. There are patients for a lot of things, but that doesn't mean they are implemented. Not to mention, it will fall under bad business practices, which would get them in legal trouble with the government.
I don't get your point on how the theatre mode or score board proofs that there is no skill based damage. Skill based damage makes your hits not count, so you can not see that at a later point, even though you would have normally hit the target and also there are no damage points counted, just as if you missed...
@ let me put it to you this way you moron. If I were to make a patent for a product that my company sells and don’t even apply it on said product, how does that patent have any correlation on it being applied to other products my company sells?
I stopped playing the game because i'm tired of getting put into 100ping lobbies and having my guns take 5 extra hitmarkers just because im unfortunate enough to be able to drop 70 kills in a domination game
First off.. its been so long since a video of yours showed up … glad to see you back at it… been watchin you somce the BO3 days… and ive been sayin the same thing i think its server issues and or netcode issues
Pro players are whitelisted. I dont think that can even be a debate anymore. Thats why we cant get lobbies KD tracking and stuff again like we did at the end of WZ1. Its too easy to prove these streamers and pros are getting easier lobbies than average normal gamers.
What I don't understand is ranked has solved the issues that SBMM brings. I don't get why there can't be a "casual" non ranked connection based matchmaking and ranked SBMM. Having the option would solve a lot of issues.
Well, I DID quit cod, got sick of the constant manipulation of my matches. And I feel so much better on a day to day basis these days. Try it for even a week people, I think you'll notice a difference
Treyarch has been developing CoD games for nearly two decades, yet are having "networking" problems that don't exist in xdefiant, a CoD clone made by a brand new dev team at Ubisoft? No. The devs know there's algorithmic manipulation taking place outside of just matchmaking, but their contracts are full of NDAs preventing them from speaking to "protect brand status and intellectual property". Boycott the game.
Skill based damage feels like it's a thing and has felt like it for years only in COD (even for myself) but what's probably more likely is that it throws you into worse servers due to the SBMM and those servers your bullets aren't registering server side so even though on your client it shows you shot someone literally 16 times, only half of them are actually registered serverside.
The feeling like a god one game and then a potato the next is so spot on. Its as if the other guy see's me before I can see them in the potato games and I know its a network issue because sometimes I will get stupid lag spikes in those potato games.
I have some feedback on learning this game and when to use omni-movement. Not a pro just find myself in ultra sweat lobbies and consistently get top 3. Just wanted to share my thoughts: Omni movement is a pretty robust system. I have crouch on toggle mode, set to "c" key. Sprint strafing left/right then going into a slide cancel to quickly pop out is powerful. Use space to cancel and stand up, or you can go prone and smoothly transition into a prone. Useful for crossing. Sliding into ADS for smg/shotgun is so good, and nice for room enters after a stun or flash. Have to be careful not to overuse it. Its fun but playing reactive and holding positions/cover still is king. You can succeed with fundementals and ignore omni movement if you really wanted. Sprinting backwards as you have your gun trained on an angle or as someone is chasing you is useful and fun too. Dolphin dives to the side can have their place but are pretty rare. Fun to pull off though. In general sprinting in all directions lets you cover ground as you rotate, and keep an eye on entry points better as you do so. Wall banging is as good as its ever been IMO. Even without bullet pen attachments you can shoot through a LOT of the map. Guns feel great, but are very strict with their optimal ranges. SMG's have shorter range than other CODs and suffer outside of that. Rifles do better but can't compete in most setups vs sniper.
I'm not buying into skill based damage or aim assist, but something is definitely going on with connection. That is a literal fact. They had surveys about network in late MW3 and I see streamers/pros with fiber connections that still get packet bursts from time to time. Something is 100% screwed up. Does anyone else get packet bursts and rubber banding even if they have good ping?
my issue is sbmm is putting me against mostly pc players when im on xbox and as much as pc players complain about aim assist it isnt even close to comparable. I am not an amazing player, above average but not top 10%. But still I am put against people who have clearly out a lot more time into these games than me, like 10+ times more time. Every night i play i get to the point of questioning why im wasting my time playing this but as the day goes on i want to play it. Its fun because its new but i think thats the only reason. Ive noticed a lot of people leaving games and i think it has to do with this unbalanced shite. Im close to not bothering to play anymore as id rather just do something productive. I mainly just play FPS' and when i can just barely pull 1 k/d going as hard as i can or having to camp or use a shotgun so i dont have a k/d of 0.4 I just dont see the point in gaming so much anymore. Whatever happened to the random lobbies where you were just against the average playerbase? I dont need to play against losers every game. I barely play an hour or two a day most of the time.
I'm playing on Xbox Series X. It's a terrible experience, especially when facing PC players. Feels like I'm several frames behind. Unplayable every other game. I hate SBMM and crossplay vs PC
im glad you and xclusive ace are talking loud about this topic. the desync is as crazy as i remember it in bo2... how come infinity ward games never has this issue in their games?? mw3 had it for a while at launch, but not to this extend and by week 2 they got mosty rid of it. i played MW2 for almost its entire lifespan and that game simply DID NOT HAVE this desync issue
Not to mention all the magical pre fire headshots ppl do specifically like they know where u are and when; no uav no trip alarms even the kill cam shows the guy turn around and start heading straight for you. It’s not obvious how or why but it’s very consistent and common in the “hi skill” lobbies. And there headshots always land and mine hit marker. Gotta love the ppl running C9 smg and team wipe you from 50m
I think one of the other issues is that 3arc, IW, etc. don't have direct access to matchmaking. I could be mistaken, but I think matchmaking is handled through Demonware. So there is a disconnect between the devs and the actual people that make SBMM algorithms. I feel like this was evident when they tried to be "transparent" about SBMM. So basically, not even Activision has complete knowledge about SBMM. They're probably just telling Demonware "whatever gets us the highest retention" and at the end of the day, the consumer suffers. I've pretty much experience the same issues everyone else has. I haven't played MP since launch day, and will probably wait for people to finish their grinds and the hype to die out.
What's wild is that rumors about skill based damage and a manipulative match making algorithm can plague the game, and the bad PR still doesn't hurt the bottom dollar.
Very important points you're conveying here and I think it's not talked about enough. Algo's manipulate our lives without us knowing or understanding completely and it's terrifying really.
The little bit towards the end with the foil hat on was a funny bit and I enjoyed it. It seems like you're having fun again, hopefully because your health is improving. Cheers, bud.

@@saltyaces8621 Exactly
Spot on!
Wow. That was an interesting read, thank you.
All facts!! It's clearly deliberate and they want the remaining community of DIE hard 6v6 loyalist to go play WAR$ONE. It's obvious what ACTIVI$ION agenda is since MWII.
Hq comment
Whoa, real knowledge in the youtube comment section is rare. Thank you for sharing in a way that's easy for us to understand.
They want to recreate the CS ping effect, the dev “lower” the ping by 10-20 ms and player were fooled by the fake numbers.
i deleted this game already, i’m not dealing with shooting people 10 times and not getting a kill. the camping, spawn killing, SBMM, i’m glad it was free.

Idk if you're on PC, but for me, on Xbox, I'm not getting any packet loss whatsoever.

I shouldn't be playing an entire team of these kind of pros
i experienced this in EVERY treyarc game since B02.. thats the biggest reason i couldnt enjoy them. this exact reason.. i always said and now they "player X has 'the advantage'." it takes so so much to be able to kill these players, but for them its a cakewalk to kill you because they literally appear on your screen later, than i am on theirs...as long as the desync is this severe no gunfight can be trusted.. because you dont know if youre at the positive end of the desync, but youll always notice when youre a the negative end

call of duty has always been like that, it's your game catching up with the server. That happens when you die on the servers end before you even saw what happened lmao. It just feels like you freeze and get killed.
yesss dude i know exactly what you’re talking about. I can tell when an enemy is nearby because at least once a match at minimum my screen will freeze/lag and i lose the gunfight or i have to wait for that split second for the lag to go away even though i have low latency. lol
You are correct. Some games I stomp and other games I get insta killed over and over. It’s poopy pants.
From what I can tell, it's definitely a server issue. Sometimes a ping issue, too.

I've been playing mostly hardcore to work on camo challenges, but it's been really frustrating, especially because of how awful the maps are . .

These dopamine loops are also the reason for the small maps. It’s the tiktokification of CoD. Increase the frequency of gunfights, remove the killcam so you can spawn in even faster, increase the sprint speed, etc.
Wow thats actually a great analysis. 😭
lol eh that’s some massive confirmation bias on your part. The smallest maps have always been the most popular. Nuketown, Shipment, Rust, etc. were always the most played. Try again.
@@GlRTHBR00KS Exactly lmaoooo. Dude thought he cracked the code.
I had a 2.67 KD in MW2 when I first got BO6, I've barely been able to hold a 1.0KD on most matches because it feels like everyone kills me in a single bullet but it takes three for me to kill them even if I'm using the same guns (hardcore), it also feels like my shots just dont exist sometimes, like my aim was dead on their chest, I fired several times, and nothing, but then I get beamed the literal FRAME someone see's me
It's so bad that I've actually started to suspect there might be cheats that take advantage of the omni-movement to help change your hitbox displacement, combine that with soft aimlock and you have a recipe for grief, and given that cheaters are only on the rise, am I just being a conspiracy theorist?
It's not like I'm BAD at cod, I've always managed at least a 2~ KD for my global stats, my highest was the OG MW2 at 4.3, I have twitch aim, I have game sense, but I can't not get steam rolled in BO6 hardcore matches even though I exclusively play hardcore, and I am 99% of the time solo cued in every CoD I play, so I am used to fighting stacked teams, but it's like I don't even get to have my bullets counted in the equation so far.
Schizo posting hard bro, you're def bad and lying about 2 KD
The recon specialist perk is likely giving you away.
@@MrDJSilenzeI hate that perk cause whenever I try to flank the enemies at least one knows where I am coming from
The enemies know where you are at all times. They know this because they know where you aren’t. By subtracting where you are from where you aren’t, or where you aren’t from where you are (whichever is greater), they obtain a difference, or deviation.
@@hazmatt3250 maybe if you are in the cdl and play for optic part time. I just talking casual players. They used to not check behind doors, or in the weeds etc. They'd play casually just running and gunning for fun. My point is I can't find anyone who plays like that in my lobbies anymore. Everyone is a Friggin mlg dork slider
Drift0r, i have watched since BO2 days where i watched every vid you ever made back then & learned most of what i knew from them. Absolutely love the straight facts/statistics you provide in your vids and it gives me hope that maybe treyarch can fix their game. Btw as a heavy-leaning comp player, this game definitely has some desync/algorithm based damage going on, and they desperately need to fix it or it'll be remembered the same as the last few modern cods compared to the older cods (Even with rose-tinted glasses of nostalgia set aside)
Happy to see your vids again. Please continue to make more!
"It's not conspiracy theory, it's corporate policy." -The Father you never had.
Desync is real, your POV is often not in line with the kill cam
Drift0r it genuinely has got to a point where I had to turn off cross play on the Xbox network settings/privacy settings just so I don't get completely screwed every game.
They turn themselves back on. No joke, keep checking your settings.
In most of my lobbies I get PlayStation players. Do you frequently get PC?
@@Brisingr73COD will try to pair you with the same input, if there’s not enough players you will get pc vs console lobbies. I’ve had games where it’s all PC and other games where I’m the only PC player.
I personally don't believe skilled based damage is 100% a thing.... But literally a couple years ago everyone commenting "the new Scape goat" "new way to blame anything but themselves" was said by the same people when everyone blamed SBMM. Guess what, it turned out to be real.
Why is it so ludicrous to think maybe they are manipulating the player experience in real time? Why is that a question you guys are afraid to ask?
This all would be solved if matchmaking return to a connection based system….
I hope you aren’t one of the retards who gave activision money
Your just trash bro and your a little kid who can’t handle losing sometimes so you create a fantasy in your mind where your not trash
Is this a bit or are you serious?
Driftor I’m so glad to see you uploading and talking about this game. Longgg time fam of your channel and you always do such thorough breakdowns and commentary. Hope you continue uploading for the duration of bo6.
0:30 wtf is that physics angle 😭😂
I’m curious about WHY the ping ISNT SHOWN on the scoreboard…
Yes, I also need to see who is using a controller from the PC.
I’m glad to see more and more of these types of videos. Hopefully they’ll make it more of a priority to fix it. Although I fear that unless they see a drop in player base they’ll continue to ignore it
If you die in Valorant, CS, Fortnite, Overwatch you are a trash
If you die in cod the game is trash.
Lololololol
I have been part of the group talking about sbmm and skill based damage BO2. After years of mockery, sbmm was confirmed. I believe skill based damage is real. Its always been chalked up to packet loss or ping. But there are times when those are near perfect and I still get 1 shot from across the map with an smg. Pro players are starting to say this too. It's clear that something is going on.
Can we as gamers protest and not play the game for a week and make them fix this like a boycott 🤔
Nah, the game is very fun. I'll keep playing, you do you

Aim assist nerf has got to be a thing. I've run into matches where enemies have a force field around them.
Thanks for mentioning the issue we always have in every cod besides the long time for matches to load and every other issues the game has
Honestly feels like im playing xdefiant sometimes so many hit markers its crazy
Brooooo this comment right here!!! It was so bad I had to stop playing and I’m getting to that point with new warzone it’s BAD
Hope all is well Drift0r. Good to see you back on the horse
"In embodiments, session modifications may include, but are not limited to: adjusting the number of enemies, adjusting the complexity of puzzles; and player adjustments, which may include the player's health, damage, speed, available abilities, and difficulty level. In one embodiment, a player's health is scaled based on the player's skill level." -Activision patent
@@danielb6579bro they’re not nerfing your damage lol subs are bad and have instant falloff so you get 20 hit markers vs an AR past like 15 meters.
@@karsonrivers9880 It has absolutely nothing to do with damage falloff. Why can I beam someone at long range one minute, then I get 5 headshots at close range and still die? Why did this not happen in the older games but suddenly happens now? It didn't happen in MW2019 or Cold War either, then my friend and I both noticed it happening in MW2022.
I had this one guy killing me with 1 bullet with the AK-74 on the kill came. I was like wtf is going on?

I don't get your point on how the theatre mode or score board proofs that there is no skill based damage. Skill based damage makes your hits not count, so you can not see that at a later point, even though you would have normally hit the target and also there are no damage points counted, just as if you missed...
skill based damage 💀💀
This has explained so much about my experiences with this game. Great analysis

All these guys looking everywhere except their own skill for their issues. They can’t handle not being good enough in their minds
I stopped playing the game because i'm tired of getting put into 100ping lobbies and having my guns take 5 extra hitmarkers just because im unfortunate enough to be able to drop 70 kills in a domination game
crazy conspiracy: we just got older and cant keep up with 13 year olds that can afford to spend 12 hours on the game every single day
I'd say thats one of many reasons.
First off.. its been so long since a video of yours showed up … glad to see you back at it… been watchin you somce the BO3 days… and ive been sayin the same thing i think its server issues and or netcode issues
Youre an OG driftor. Very nice to see that a video was recommended again after all these years
I'm trying to get back to what I do best
Treyarch has been developing CoD games for nearly two decades, yet are having "networking" problems that don't exist in xdefiant, a CoD clone made by a brand new dev team at Ubisoft?
No. The devs know there's algorithmic manipulation taking place outside of just matchmaking, but their contracts are full of NDAs preventing them from speaking to "protect brand status and intellectual property".
Boycott the game.
Great video! Nobody does analytical videos quite as well as Driftor.
This was honestly a great explanation and commentary on this topic lol
Half a decade ago there was GOAT TH-camr who used to do extensive input delay and network tests. We need him now more than ever.
Skill based damage feels like it's a thing and has felt like it for years only in COD (even for myself) but what's probably more likely is that it throws you into worse servers due to the SBMM and those servers your bullets aren't registering server side so even though on your client it shows you shot someone literally 16 times, only half of them are actually registered serverside.
or, or, they're using servers from 2008
Great video Drift0r, one of your BEST! Thank you kindly.
I play with a friend that lives 3 miles away, he plays on Xbox and I play on PC. There are times where he has 50ms and I have 100+ms and vice versa.
glad to see you back
Just seems a little fishy that i only start lagging and people turn into bullet sponges when I’m doing good or I’m on a couple game win streak
Just wanted to share my thoughts:
Omni movement is a pretty robust system.
I hate SBMM and crossplay vs PC
im glad you and xclusive ace are talking loud about this topic. the desync is as crazy as i remember it in bo2... how come infinity ward games never has this issue in their games?? mw3 had it for a while at launch, but not to this extend and by week 2 they got mosty rid of it. i played MW2 for almost its entire lifespan and that game simply DID NOT HAVE this desync issue
glad to see you playing again man
i still gotta wait a couple weeks til i play! thanks for the content Drift0r. hope it improves
Appreciate the vid and the topics driftor
Not to mention all the magical pre fire headshots ppl do specifically like they know where u are and when; no uav no trip alarms even the kill cam shows the guy turn around and start heading straight for you. It’s not obvious how or why but it’s very consistent and common in the “hi skill” lobbies. And there headshots always land and mine hit marker. Gotta love the ppl running C9 smg and team wipe you from 50m
I don't even play CoD anymore for obvious reasons but its cool to put on a Drift0r video and be taken back to the old days.
Love seeing the cod videos again man.
When it feels good, it's good.
But when it's bad, I die in the 0.015 seconds
What's wild is that rumors about skill based damage and a manipulative match making algorithm can plague the game, and the bad PR still doesn't hurt the bottom dollar.
Very important points you're conveying here and I think it's not talked about enough. Algo's manipulate our lives without us knowing or understanding completely and it's terrifying really.
The little bit towards the end with the foil hat on was a funny bit and I enjoyed it. It seems like you're having fun again, hopefully because your health is improving. Cheers, bud.
Glad to see I’m not the only one having ping inconvenient moments
