No you don't have to memorize the codes - you use the manuals to look them up. You will start to memorize common ones with experience. The main thing to focus on is learning the guidelines in the manuals.

Like I watch video of on a sample report, and they give a long patient report it’s like I’m not a doctor idk what any of this means and stuff. So do you know what the report has to mean to actually code ?

You do have to have extensive understanding of medical terminology, you are translating it.
