      We still have so much to do on the outside before the colder weather hits, but at least we’ll be protected and working inside when it’s snowing

    You guys are making great headway on getting the infrastructure in! The solid rock sure does make the job much tougher, but you’re handling it well and finding alternative solutions and making progress. NICE WORK!

      We need to make the most of the daylight now. Daylight is getting shorter and shorter. We need to get all this outside work done before the weather changes 😊

    Finally found your other channel. Watching now. I'm so happy for you guys. You got out of a cesspool and moved to mongo elbow room. The property looks really good. The work is tedious but oh so rewarding. You have every right to be so proud. God bless to you both..❤️😎💯

    Another suggestion, take lots of pictures of the trench layout with measurement notes so you can triangulate the location once it’s all buried. Things change, technologies change, ya never know what you might want to add in as little as 5 years.

      @YouMeandtheFencePost  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You might consider if you want hire a blaster to drill some holes and literily blast those rocky trenches in a hurry. And if you dont have neighbors they wont have to worry about fly rock. Blasters are fast., are legally licensed professionals. Noise is a concern, if you have neighbors' you dont have people nearby do you?

    • @YouMeandtheFencePost
      @YouMeandtheFencePost  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We do have 2 neighbors fairly close by. Hopefully, when we need to dig again we’ll have better luck

    • @frozenjoe6313
      @frozenjoe6313 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hang in there . there is also something called " micro rock capping" which is very usefull for project like yours if you care to read something rather usefull........... Caution is advised.. best regards .. Joe.

    Your rental place doesn't rent an electric spade? Way bigger than a hammer drill.

    • @YouMeandtheFencePost
      @YouMeandtheFencePost  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure, don’t know what that is. We’ll have to ask if we ever need to dig again

    • @paintlover70
      @paintlover70 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah definitely find out if they have an electric breaker hammer (jack hammer)
      It's the same thing as what the bobcat attachment is and the hand held you're using, just between them in size.

  • @simcoebackcountry5998
    @simcoebackcountry5998 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That looks more like Caliche. That stuff is terrible to dig in.

    • @YouMeandtheFencePost

      Hmmm, not sure. I do know we have a lot of decomposed granite and clay soil.

    I realize it’s a heavy capital commitment, but if you consider the amount of landscaping involved in a new build out, buying a bigger multipurpose excavator and then sell in about a year might give you more control over your time and not cost that much when you net out the sale of the equipment.
    My back hurts watching you guys swing that pick

    • @YouMeandtheFencePost
      @YouMeandtheFencePost  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, we’ve thought of doing that, but don’t want to chance not being able to sell it later.

    MMMM wonder how much water the springhouse will provide?????. I do happen to have a electric water well pump, 220 volt, used rated at 16 gallons . and if that wellhouse is shallow you could change out pumps easily It might work well for you, especially since pumped water from 135 ft, my well started pumping a lot of sanda nd I had to have my well redevelopped, and a new, lower capacity pump.. I would have to have a pump outfit look at it, make sure its good. Id make you a deal possibly. If you have elk everywhere maybe we can make a deal. I am down by Boise, and If I could line up a very easy elkshoot during elk season maybe we could trade.. I would be happy if female elk are open,and and I could put togather a disabled easy hunt. . Possible deal.
