      i do too. exept for the gpu. my 980 gonna stay until the 3080ti is out. i like that he choose fast RAM. dont knwo why not 4133 or 4266 CL17 instead of cl 19 but better than the usual 3200MHz some call "fast" and instead spending 1500 on a 2. GPU they mostly cant use

    • @leo_mas_922
      @leo_mas_922 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Maurice Elet Wow! Isnt a ram that fast some Bottleneck risk with 980? Or maybe not considering ram speed in gaming is not that crucial

    • @mauriceelet6376
      @mauriceelet6376 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@leo_mas_922 well "fast" RAM isnt actually that fast. you have to tighten your subtimings a bit and you get much better results. my 4x8GB 4133 17-17-17 37 1.4V had under 55GB/s in the AIDA 64 memory bench. my 4300 16-17-17-33 1.5V setting has 63,5GB/s read, 66,5GB/s write and 62,5GB/s copy with about 10ns latency reduction to 36ns. most of that is subtimings. the AIDA 64 mem. bench is not really what you get. moere like what you could get max. but the 10GB/s are somewhat traslateble. memory dosnt give you much more FPS until the CPU becomes you bottleneck. like low resolution and details. but you gain on the min 1% and 0.1% FPS a lot. because thats where your GPU waits for your CPU.
      A 980 is totaly fine for the Games i play. War Thunder on 3440x1440 100Hz with high details and lowest AA is possible. Black Deasert Online needs more, but 60Hz isnt that bad with medium to high. older titles dont need it anyways and thats about it. i would not upgrade if it would bother me. but there are 3 point for it.
      1: my cooler is not the best and loud. i repasted the card and blown out the little bit dust but its just loud. barings and stuff i think.
      2: the card might die in the next 2 years. Nvidia GPUs never failed me. my 660 4GB was fine to the end. but i have seen some post of failing 900 series now and i dont want to risk that. if i need to buy a new card anyway i do it when its still fresh so i get the most out of it. 5 1/2 years is not that bad for a GPU after all. Also i bought a 2nd monitor. if you have 2 1440p monitors with a game and you tube open at the same time the 4GB memory of the card is not enough. you can ether have one program laging or reduce ones resolution. thats ok but not in a maschine like mine.
      3: i upgraded my PC last year. and with that a custom loop. In WIN 928 case and 2 420mm rads for CPU, 280 for GPU (not in use) and 280 for RAM and VRMs. 3 different loops, 3 pumps, 12 fans, RGB stips etc etc etc pp. i upgreaded from a 3770 non K on a h77 gigabyte MB that keept removing USB devices like mous or keyboard in the middle of games.
      so a new GPU completes the build.

College won't help you become rich. It will just put you into a huge amount of debt. Learned the lesson the hard way. now this is an interesting one for me to come across, just started watching some of these IFR videos and this one is kinda similar in specs to what I have but I messed up with the water cooling in mine (didn't order enough fittings... so had to cut a few corners in the loop). When I move to a new apartment was going to look at redoing the entire loop and this gives me a few ideas. My build is AMD based rather than Intel tho, using a 3950x and a Titan RTX instead of a 2080 ti. There are other differences too but nothing overly major other than also having a RTX2060 (I use IOMMU/GPU Passthrough to a windows VM since main OS is linux/CentOS).
    I do find the pump quiet noisy, I am using a "EK-Classic DP Side PC-O11D G1 D-RGB + DDC 3.2 PWM", tuned the pump down to like 25% and I can still just about hear it... going to get a flow rate monitor to see if it can go lower but wondering if perhaps I just got a bad pump. I am also pretty certain this is the same pump/res used in this video but the links above say "O11D-DPG1 Distro Plate" which links to one clearly different than the one in the video.

    Thats, incredible!. Is the Distroplate DDC pump noisy?

    I have pretty much the same build but with a 3950x
    Right now its just air cooled because I was trying to figure best setup for the loop, incorporating the formula VRM coolant blocks etc. I like this layout but my question is..
    Would it be better to go from GPU > VRM > top radiator > CPU?
