Remember when the pump is installed - don't turn it on, take it apart :)

But does the metal in the poolcover housing have an earth wire? 😃

Might pay to hang on to those pool cover struts for winter, since gas struts have less lift force in cooler weather you may need the stronger ones.
They can also leak their gas over time and generally become weaker too.
I'd suggest adding a few lead weights to the underside of the cover, then just remove the weights as needed over time👍

      Certainly possible.

Nice progress. I hope there'll be some stickers or something on that glass. A kid could run into it.

I’ll reference this video in my next lifetime when I have a pool.

Is the earth wire designed to stay in concrete without any external protection?

Is that 2-3cm tile overhang with no support good? I'd be worried it will break off.

Some nice progress there. Things are going the good way.

I would add a small attachment to the cover bottom to reduce the lever size on which gaslift pushs in close position, sharper angle. It should reduce force when closed, but add lever size and force when starting to open.

Is there any area of greenery like a lawn left?

    • @EEVblog2
      @EEVblog2  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes, down the bottom, but the gras on top between the stepping stones.

Hi Dave, should that earth wire have been protected against the elements or water from the swimming pool? The connection of the bare copper will oxidize rapidly.

That was also my thinking, for such a supposedly critical safety aspect, they didn't think through the practical side of things being in the elements very well.

Maybe you could weigh that cover down with some of those lead sheets that roofers use where a roof connects to a brick wall. That way you can get the exact amount of weight in there instead of going for weaker struts.

This must cost a small fortune with all the certifications and extra measures?
Hope you can enjoy it for a lifetime!
