      I am sorry for your loss, however there are 10s of thousands of UK nationals who have had the benefits of being born in the UK, enjoyed free healthcare and a free education and then spend the rest of their lives being a burden on the benefit system because they can't be bothered to work. These people anger me far more than the immigrants.

    • @damonhall7116
      @damonhall7116 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      As I have just found out yesterday. I served in the British Army and then in the police. I emigrated a few years back. Turns out that because of the army and police pension schemes I have to pay more money into my uk pension to get the full benefits when I retire as both schemes for a while were contracted out (whatever that means).
      I’m fully aware that it was my decision to emigrate and I did it willingly but I honestly thought that service for your country counted for something. Clearly the only thing it counts for is paying more money into a pension than others do.
      I’m proud of what I did in the uk and I’ll always be British but it’s kind of a kick in the proverbials.
      You have my sincere condolences for the loss of your son.

    Not ONE illegal immigrant should be granted asylum as they have broken British law

    • @Truth-warrior-j3e
      @Truth-warrior-j3e 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      if that were to be enacted then the UK itself would be breaking the law with serious international and domestic consequences. It would also not stop undocumented immigration.
      In the United Kingdom, the legal framework for asylum and immigration is governed by both domestic law and international obligations. The UK is a signatory to the 1951 Refugee Convention and its 1967 Protocol, which obligates signatories to provide protection to refugees who have a well-founded fear of persecution based on race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion. This means that under international law, the UK cannot simply stop granting asylum to all immigrants who seek it even if their arrival to UK was through an unauthorised route.

    Refusing legal aid to these failed illegal immigrants would put an end to these legal vultures who squander taxpayers money.

    • @Truth-warrior-j3e
      @Truth-warrior-j3e 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Refusing legal aid will make very little difference to anyone except asylum seekers since in the vast majority of immigration cases legal aid is not available. Here are the facts:
      In the UK, legal aid for immigrants is available under certain conditions:
      Asylum Seekers: Asylum seekers and refugees typically qualify for legal aid for their asylum applications and related immigration issues
      All other Immigration Cases: Legal aid is available for some immigration cases, but many others have been excluded due to reforms. For example, legal aid is generally not available for applications like visas or family reunification, unless the case involves human rights issues or domestic violence.
      Means and Merit Test: Immigrants must usually pass a means test (assessing financial eligibility) and a merits test (assessing the likelihood of success) to qualify for legal aid in the first place.
      Asylum seekers make up a relatively small proportion of immigrants to the UK. In 2023, asylum seekers accounted for about 7% of all immigrants to the UK. If you also include those arriving through bespoke humanitarian schemes (such as those for Ukrainians and Afghans), the total proportion rises to around 11% to 14% depending on how these categories are defined.
      This indicates that while asylum seekers are a visible part of the immigration landscape, they represent a minority of the overall immigration figures in the UK. Therefore, whether you agree with legal support or not it would not put an end to legal cases since most immigrants do not get legal aid in the first place.

      @Truth-warrior-j3e 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@davidlane180 Yes, the 11% figure refers to the proportion of asylum seekers and refugees among all immigrants to the UK in 2023. This percentage includes both those applying for asylum and those arriving through resettlement programs. When additional humanitarian routes like the British National (Overseas) scheme are included, the figure could rise to up to 14% of total immigration because then people from for example Ukraine and Afghanistan would be included in the definition.

      She is an immigration lawyer not a human rights lawyer. If you have a complaint about your own human rights, you have the right to go to a human rights lawyer,
      The legal framework that underpins human rights in the United Kingdom is primarily based on the following key elements:
      1. The Human Rights Act 1998
      - Overview: The Human Rights Act (HRA) 1998 is the most significant piece of legislation underpinning human rights in the UK. It incorporates the rights set out in the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) into UK law.
      - Impact: This act allows individuals to bring cases related to their human rights directly before UK courts rather than having to go to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. It requires public bodies, including the government, to act in accordance with these rights.
      - Rights Covered: The rights protected under the HRA include the right to life, prohibition of torture, right to a fair trial, freedom of expression, and right to privacy, among others.
      2. The European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR)
      - Overview: The ECHR is an international treaty to protect human rights and fundamental freedoms in Europe. The UK is a signatory to this convention, which was drafted in 1950 by the Council of Europe.
      - Relationship with UK Law: The rights from the ECHR were incorporated into UK law through the Human Rights Act 1998. Even though the UK has left the European Union, the ECHR is part of the Council of Europe, which is separate from the EU, meaning the UK remains bound by it.
      3. Common Law
      - Overview: The UK legal system is based on common law, which is law developed by judges through decisions in individual cases. Over centuries, the UK courts have recognized and developed a range of fundamental rights and freedoms as part of common law.
      - Impact: Even before the Human Rights Act, the UK courts recognized certain rights, such as the right to fair trial and freedom from arbitrary detention, as fundamental principles of justice.
      4. Other Legislation
      - Equality Act 2010: This act consolidates and strengthens various anti-discrimination laws, ensuring that people are protected from discrimination based on characteristics like race, gender, disability, and age.
      - The Magna Carta (1215): While not a modern legal instrument, the Magna Carta is historically significant as it laid the foundation for the development of constitutional and human rights in the UK, emphasizing the rule of law and the protection of individual liberties.
      5. International Treaties
      - The UK is a party to various international treaties that influence its human rights obligations, including the United Nations' Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR).
      These elements collectively ensure the protection and enforcement of human rights in the UK, allowing individuals to seek redress when their rights are violated.

    She should have been asked if British people have any human rights to live in their homeland without being invaded. The Rule of Law is being abused and if people lose faith and trust in the system then the future is bleak.
    Apply her logic to your home. Just because someone outside your house wants what you have, doesn't make it right for them to move into your house uninvited to take up residence.

    So I'm in Iran and I leave and come to the UK and I claim asylum knowing full well that whether my asylum claim is granted or it fails then I will be allowed to stay in the UK. We have no means of deporting these people and all the Iranian government has to do is to fill planes full of criminals and give them instructions on how to claim asylum and where to contact this wretched female lawyer. In addition she should have been asked who was paying her to process asylum claims.
