Hi, thank you for the question. Yes, 押す is a Group 1 verb, and the causative form of Group 1 verbs is as follows: …u →…aせる (れい①)いく→ いかせる (iku→ikaseru) which means “make/let someone go” (れい②)よむ→よませる (yomu→yomaseru) which means “make/let someone read” (れい③)おす→おさせる (osu→osaseru) which means “make/let someone press” So, おさせるis the causative form of the Group 1 verb 押す.
Perhaps I misunderstood your question, so please let me clarify. The pattern "Somebody に something を ~(さ)せます" always uses a transitive verb. Now I'm guessing you think "Transitive verbs = Group 2 verbs", but that isn't true. Group 1, Group 2, and Group 3 verbs all include transitive verbs (as well as intransitive verbs). For example, ~を よむ (Group 1), ~を たべる (Group 2), and ~を する (Group 3). Does this clarify the situation?
@@naturaljapaneseataglance5409 Thank you so much for answering my question! I was confused since i assumed 押す was a group one verb since it ends in す, but maybe it's actually a group 2 ?
